My REAL resolution is to get a tattoo of my avatar this year. And I think all of you should get yours too!!
@Crimsonorblue22 I would never do that. They don't go with my tube top and daisy dukes.
@Crimsonorblue22 lol - no. I just liked the sound of it
At my age, I can play in Birkenstocks. Not a lot of cutting, jumping (or running) going on here. But I play a mean game of horse......
@Crimsonorblue22 Lol - not that I know of !!
@Crimsonorblue22 Did you ever work at a place in Austin called "The Doll House" ?
@Crimsonorblue22 Stop it - you're scaring me. :8ball:
@drgnslayr I know a lot of folks don't like Bob Knight, but I've always thought if I were a coach, I'd be like him. No nonsense, doesn't treat the players like they were little sissy-girl ballerinas, no surprises. You knew where he was coming from.
@Crimsonorblue22 I told you, I already think you ARE my wife.....:eyes:
@kansas-oats That sounds great! I will definitely check out the Crazy Cajun next time! I'd love to do some fishing in Feb., but we will be on a big ol boat going to Freeport and Nassau in the Bahamas at that time. Actually, my wife and I have booked an excursion to do some fishing in Freeport during the trip. She's the only person I've ever met that likes to fish as much (or more) as me.
@kansas-oats We may have to become good friends. I've only been to Port A a few times, but I LOVE to fish. Have been deep sea fishing out of Galveston countless times. Shoot- I love to fish anywhere. I'll catch perch in a pond, carp in a river, stripers, walleye, white bass, catfish, whatever. Love to fish!
@Crimsonorblue22 There is NO WAY that you're not my wife. Nobody else has that good of a memory. At least when it comes to holding stuff against me. Lol.
OH - NO. Not giving up The Voice. But I will DVR it.
@kansas-oats I ate at Whataburger - oh - 10 times per week in Houston. Best shakes EVER. Don't remember the food so much, but dang they had good shakes.

To stay up and actually watch the games. It sucks getting up at 4:00 am every day.....
To not whine about Self when he doesn't do the right thing, which means doing it my way.
To read ALL of @jaybate-1.0 's posts (resolutions are never easy)
To not do my happy dance at work any time K-State loses. (my boss and practically everyone else who works here are purple)
To tell my wife that I'm having an online affair so she doesn't get mad that I spend all my time with YOU guys and gals.
@jayballer54 up there where I put (in a round-about sort of way...) - that's my way of saying what you just said.
@kansas-oats I had some friends from Arkansas - they had goats for waitresses.....

Big 12 Team Bowl Losses, All Time
- Kansas Jayhawks - 6
- Iowa St. Cyclones - 9
- Oklahoma State Cowboys - 9
- Kansas State Wildcats - 11
- Baylor Bears - 11
- TCU Horned Frogs - 15
- Oklahoma Sooners - 19
- West Virginia Mountaineers - 19
- Texas Tech Red Raiders - 21
- Texas Longhorns - 24
We've got fewer Bowl losses than anyone else in the league - I'm calling that a victory!
@JhawkAlum I personally think it's between his ears. Niang is just more aggressive and wants it to be on him in crunch time. Perry - not so much.
@Crimsonorblue22 I'm sorry - I meant Legends, the whole ginormous shopping center right there at I-70 and I-435, where Hollywood Casino and the Racetrack, Great Wolf Lodge and all that is.
@Texas-Hawk-10 I certainly understand that - I think I'm going to go to KU's next bowl game. I hope it's in Hawaii. I'll sleep on the beach!
I'm sorry my friend, I live in Salina and the only time I'm in Lawrence is like you - zip in and zip out for a game. I don't have any "tourist" ideas, but there are many good restaurants in town. If you're coming from the East, you could stop at Legends - tons of shopping and restaurants there. Hopefully some of the local posters will chime in and give you some ideas.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Well, I knew SOMEONE had OU ties!! Lol.
My own personal opinion - if you can afford the game/airline tickets and hotel you should do it!! How often does a person get to see a game of that caliber?
Go Dawg Go !!
If we try 100 3's and hit 40% (do-able) that would be 120 pts. Then let's figure 18-25 from the free throw line and 5 or 6 two point shots, we should get to 150 no problem.
@drgnslayr I haven't had any booze of any kind since 1988.
I get to be designated driver. A lot.
@Jayrawks1 Ummmmmm. Are you going to be there on Tuesday, or the 28th ?
@jayballer54 Ok - I didn't mean it as an insult or anything, lots of us here have ties to other schools. Wives/kids/friends/relatives have gone to other schools. I thought I remembered you saying somewhere that your dad was an OU grad. Must have been someone else! My bad.
After reading through these posts, it's obvious you have some ties to OU. Care to divulge? I mean, there won't be a burning at the stake or anything, just curious.
@RockChalkinTexas Yeah.
I'm jealous.
Merry Christmas.... :santa:
By the way - got any openings wherever you work? I could use a boss like that!
@RockChalkinTexas Gotta be tickets to the KU / Texas game??
Ditto! I really enjoy this site, all the banter and education and fun! Thanks @approxinfinity and to all the others who have contributed to make this the great site it is.
Everyone enjoy your family, friends and food for the next few days.
Merry Christmas !! :santa:
His stock just went up! :+1:
@ParisHawk Pine Wilt ?
@DoubleDD In regards to your original post - I'm leaning that way myself. I think the only way it will not happen is if the TEAM believes it. You've been watching this team for a while now - overconfidence is their worst enemy. As @drgnslayr (I think!) has frequently mentioned - we need to find a "chip" of some sort to work with. A CHIP and a KILLER INSTINCT = NC.
@drgnslayr I get so sick of the TV announcers. I'd really like to mute the TV and listen to the radio, but the 1-2 second (or more!) delay drives me crazy.
@drgnslayr "someone who can bang in the paint" !BLUEMAN.jpg ↗
@JayHawkFanToo I about had one anyway! I was really pulling for Oakland!!
@BeddieKU23 I really did not expect a run from them. Once we got a 16 point lead, I expected us to play even harder and extend the lead, or at least keep it. SDSU is not an elite team and we should have been able to put them away without there ever being any doubt about it. I don't think we're going to win every game by 30, but I think we probably could have won this one like that. I know a lot of posters were ecstatic about the Harvard game. " A win is a win ". I guess I'm just not that easy to please. If we're ranked #2, I want to play and win like we deserve that ranking.
@BeddieKU23 I heard the well oiled machine comment too, but I honestly think a few of the parts are still rusted. When 16 point leads against a team like this dwindle to 4 (and could have been 1 or 2) - not everything is completely oiled yet.
Am I the only old fart that is probably going to conk out by about 9:30 and miss the whole game??
@joeloveshawks You're not asking me, but I'll tell you anyway. NO. And in past years, they've done a great job of scheduling and marketing. They have never been a threat to go all the way. Even in the 35-0 start a couple years ago, me (and others) said all along - as soon as they play a non cupcake team they will get beat. And they did. Now they'll disappear for another 30 years until they get 2 or 3 more quality players.
For anyone who's ever seen the movie "Just Friends" - WSU is Dusty Dinkleman.
@Crimsonorblue22 Lol - it should! :8ball:
@wissoxfan83 " What a stupid world this is. "
AMEN! :pray:
And gettin stupider all the time (see what I mean?)
@brooksmd To me, Raquel is to women as Wilt is to basketball players.
Great pics as usual. Where did you find the one of Huggins standing on a rock underwater???
BAD day???
To me it was one of the most beautiful days in the history of college basketball. If K-State and UNC would have lost, it would have been almost perfect!!
As far as Duke, Kentucky and Iowa State go - Bwaaaaa ha haaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Too bad Ohio State couldn't figure out a way to lose or get disqualified too......
OH YEAH! To further demonstrate how little Wichita State means to me - I almost forget about their loss yesterday. What happened to the 35-0 days?
@wrwlumpy - Thank you SO MUCH for this thread! I really appreciate it. I had forgotten about all of the movies and celebrities and it was great to see those again. The pictures are STUNNING, especially that nature shot of Samantha Ryan! lol And I had no idea that ET was from Kansas.
Seriously, I get more aggravated than I should when I hear "outsiders" talk about how flat and ugly Kansas is. We have areas of incredible natural beauty - like most states. We all have some good and some bad.
Thanks again - this is great.
@wrwlumpy - I was going to post some scenic photos of the State of KANSAS, but since the photo's are kind of your thing, would you oblige us? And some famous Kansas alum?
@brooksmd I have similar feelings. Except I can't think of any reason that I would deem "necessary". The last time I was there was in 1981 - the night I got to witness KU lose to Wichita St, and then my brother in law spent most of the rest of the night trying to keep me out of fights with WSU fans.....
Besides that, I just don't like N.O. (sorry if that offends anyone) - to me, it has bad mojo. Very heavy "spirit" to the city. It seemed a dark place that I couldn't get out of fast enough. Once I sobered up.
@drgnslayr After many seconds of deliberation, I'd go with Basketball.
The main reason being, if we won the National Championship in football it would signal the beginning of Armegeddon.
I want to go to Heaven someday, just not next year.
