Watching East Tennessee and Wofford. First half only took about 40 minutes real time. Can't think of a men's game I've seen lately that went that fast.
Would've been nice to have something like that as the lead-in to KU games, instead of missing the first 5 or 10 minutes as usual.
@jayballer73 Maybe I'm a victim of "recency bias," but after watching Liberty today, they could be a handful.
They pulled the 12-5 upset (is that an upset anymore?) in last year's tournament to knock out Mississippi State, and still have most of the top players from that team.
At least we won't have to face Northern Iowa. I'm still having nightmares from that game.
Winthrop beats underdog Hampton (KenPom #311) after trailing at halftime to win the Big South bid.
For what it's worth, Bracketology has Winthrop as a 16 seed, facing KU in the first round.
Good for Jacque. He gave me my favorite (non-title) Jayhawk moment when he hit a buzzer-beater in OT to beat Bobby Knight's Indiana team.
Wow. Sooners down by 20 and come back to beat TCU at their place with a buzzer-beater.
That oughta clinch a bid for them.
A few days late on this, but I just found out that the Maura Mandt, producer of The Espy Awards, died suddenly late last week. Of note to KU fans, she co-directed the "30 For 30" documentary "There's No Place Like Home," about the quest to return James Naismith's original Rules Of Basketball to KU.

As someone who lives in the Seattle area, I'm surprised how quickly the needle has gone from Prudence to Panic.
FYI, nearly all of the deaths in Washington state have been elderly patients with underlying conditions, most at a single suburban nursing home located nowhere near the Seattle U. campus. The actions by Chicago State and UMKC seem way over the top.
(Interesting to note that the Roos are leaving the WAC at the end of the season anyway.)
By the way, last week I had dim sum lunch at a Chinese restaurant in downtown Seattle. According to a lot of people on the Interweb, I SHOULD BE DEAD BY NOW !

For all the talk of "parity" and "no one dominant team" in college basketball this season, predictors would be wise to pick the programs that are tournament-tested. The bluebloods are bluebloods for a reason.
This year may well be the one with no VCUs, no Loyola-Chicagos...no Cinderella teams in the Final Four, or even Elite Eight. Just a group of good to better-than-average teams.

Ducks make a layup to take the lead with 1.7 seconds in OT, then Zona gets fouled after a fullcourt pass. U of A misses two FTs that would've won the game. Oregon wins instead.
BYU & St. Mary's both have a decent shot to make the tourney. That'd make it 3 from the WCC...not bad for a mid-major
