THIS IS IT. COME ON BOYS
WVU shooting themselves in the feet with that shotgun
COME ON D
@DanR Them moonshiners are all full of boos.
NO MISTAKES
TEEEE DEEEE !!! WHEEEE !!!
ESPN's website is worthless. Still showing the score tied early in the 3rd qtr.
Got the Big Mo (and I ain't talkin' about Fizzou)
@DanR Hope so !
NEAL DOWN TO DEVIN !
If someone could help me by putting a link to radio scene so I could listen in the car Iād appreciate it
For what it's worth I'm listening to the Jayhawk Radio Network on 105.9 KISS FM in Lawrence.
@Jethro Another one? OK, sure
And the hits just keep on comin'...
Tech beats Houston in OT. What a crazy day in CFB.
A STOP !
WVU fans booing their own team. How gauche...
@wissox Notta lotta defense. Need to get some stops in the second half.
Last team to score wins.
DANIELS TO NEAL ! Where have I heard that before ???
Devin "The Real Deal" Neal !
Another upset...a mediocre Washington State team goes into Madison and takes down the ranked Badgers.
Call it a reply to the Pac-12 bashers.
There we go. Keep the mistakes to a minimum and at least we have a chance.
Texas damn near beats Alabama, with a backup QB no less.
Somehow I get the feeling we won't score 57 on them this year.
Guessing that Liverpool and the rest of the EPL teams won't play at all this weekend after the passing of Queen Elizabeth.
I was a fan of Green Pepper Pizza, around the corner from the Chi Omega house. Liked the thick, dough-y crust. Not that great by today's standards, but okay for a college kid in the '70s. Nowadays when I'm in town, Limestone on Mass Street is my favorite.
Can't figure out what's wrong with Liverpool. The same club that scored nine goals against Bournemouth has to settle for draws against bottom-feeders Everton and Fulham. Then they get clobbered by an inferior Napoli side in the Champions League. All this from a team that was expected to be in the mix for multiple trophies this season.
Jurgen Klopp isn't exactly on the hot seat like Tuchel was, but their play lately has got to be driving him nuts.
I must've missed this news from earlier in the summer...thought I'd pass it along.
@approxinfinity Can't lose to a club like Zagreb and expect to stick around very long.
Hope the new owners hire a coach who gives Pulisic more playing time.

At least once a month I'm compelled to look at the list of NCAA members with the most basketball wins. What a great program, with such a great tradition and history. I can't wait for this season to start on November 7.
Only two months to the day before we make it 2,358 !
(Yes, I'm calling it a W right now. One of the perks of being a defending National Champion.)
Game wasn't much of a measuring stick, but it's a W. Next two games on the road will give us a lot better idea.
Halftime can't come too soon for the crowd. Need to give their arms a break after all that wheat-waving.
COBEE BRYANT - THE HAWK MAMBA
Win Probability now at 99 percent. Can't remember the last time that happened !
Given the quality of the competition, I'm hoping this serves as the equivalent of an NFL preseason game: Playing time for as many guys as possible to gauge their abilities in a real-game setting, and hope like hell that nobody gets injured.
We may be deeper in some positions this year but still can't afford down time, with two tough games to follow.
@rockchalkjayhawk As long as he gets playing time. Don't want him to end up like Pulisic at Chelsea.
What a shame. Newcastle nearly pulled off a draw at Liverpool in a matchup of my two favorite managers, Eddie Howe and Jurgen Klopp. Just a few days after the Reds hung nine goals on Bournemouth.
IMO the ref gave Liverpool way too much stoppage time to let them get the last minute win.
Still, I was impressed by Newcastle's new striker Isak, with a goal in his first game. A nice 70-million dollar addition to the roster.
Earlier this month I'd heard he was interested in the Sixers. Too bad it didn't turn out that way...would've liked to see him on the floor with Embiid, if only coming off the bench.
Nice tribute huddle at last night's game.

An all time great as a QB and a broadcaster. And always a class act.
Rest in peace, Lenny Cool.

Eddie Howe
I honestly didn't even realize Jesse Marsch was American! ha. dunno anything about him. he did look excitable on the sideline. So, i don't know his drama. I do know that Leeds played a pretty entertaining match. Their style of play brought some energy to the pitch. I haven't really watched Leeds lately, so i can only assume they play that way all the time.
That uptempo style is a carryover from their previous manager, Marcelo Bielsa. He managed to get Leeds promoted back to the Premier League, but couldn't keep up the success. When they were close to relegation last season, he resigned in an "amicable" split Apparently he was still pretty popular among their fans. When Marsch took over he was smart enough to keep that attacking style.
I've got mixed feelings about Leeds. Jesse Marsch has a reputation as being a pretty abrasive manager. I guess winning will cover up a lot of that, and take away some of the anti-American prejudice there's been in the past among English fans.
Impressive showing by Newcastle. Eddie Howe did a great job bringing Bournemouth up from the ashes a few years ago. I always wondered what he could do once he was given proper resources. Regardless of how you feel about Saudi oil money in sports, there's no doubt that the new owners will spend what's necessary to get the job done.
Speaking of slumps, with all the gloom and doom surrounding the Yankees these days, one thing they have going for them is the recent mediocrity of the rest of the league, save the Astros.
As bad as they've been lately they're still eight games ahead of the Rays and the Jays in the AL East, and still have time to turn things around. And if you look at the "last 10" column in the standings, only Tampa Bay has been better than 6 and 4.
While it's always possible for a team to go on a consistent run, I wouldn't bet the farm on anybody else in that division, as long as they continue to beat each other up.
The playoffs are another matter though.
On the women's side, once again the USA U-20 team failed to make it out of the group stage in their World Cup after losing to favorite Japan last night. This doesn't bode well for continuing the dominance of the senior team, which is getting a bit long in the tooth.
AL Wild card race is a real dogfight, and looks to stay that way up to the end of the season. Seven teams fighting for three spots. Lots of scoreboard watching going on.

@approxinfinity missed that one. no doubt both coaches were acting a fool. yet highly entertaining!
There were some serious no calls in that game. I can see how the players and managers were on edge.
Only saw the start of that game; finally caught the highlights later. What a donnybrook ! Better than WWE, complete with hair pulling.
We're losing too many sports legends this summer.
Slight correction: Carril had left for the NBA by the time of that 1999 game. His successor was still using that same style of offense though.

Loved watching his Princeton ball-control offense frustrate the hell out of their more talented opponents...except once.
Got to see his Tigers play KU at AFH just before Christmas in '99. We had much the superior team that year, with Gooden, Collison, Hinrich and company.
