The boys from Nawlins take down the Kitties in the Little Apple! Laissez les bon temps rouler !
Another TD from the Comeback Kids !!!!
Just got the answer about halftime...both coaches agreed to make it 5 minutes shorter.
So will they have a shortened halftime or the full 15 minutes?
Cal comes up short on a Hail Mary pass. ND hangs on for the win.
Can't think of one. Wonder if those NFL games from London have had any.
It seems like other sports are more open to non-native voices behind the mic. Up in Canada, CBC has a couple of guys that call hockey games in Punjabi for their South Asian immigrant audience. And the Seattle Mariners have had an Australian on their pre- and postgame coverage for years. (Though in fairness, he used to pitch for the club.)
UCLA just escapes the upset bid by South Alabama. Winning FG on the last play of the game.
The Tanking...er, Fighting Irish barely hanging on in South Bend. Tied with Cal in the 4th.
Man, there couldn't be a worse time for a weather delay. Talk about killing our momentum !

@nwhawkfan And he still about smoked us...
From the look of things, I'd say the Chiefs defense smoked his ribs.
Looks like Justin Herbert left KC with a case of sore ribs.
(Insert BBQ rib joke here.)
And your Player Of The Game ? Washington State U's own Jaylen Watson.
WHEW
NO BUTKER NO PROBLEM
Time to bleed that clock !
Watson's been watching KU game film. Shades of Cobee Bryant !
PICK SIX !!!!
Great field position. Defense stepping up...another three and out.
Now THAT'S more like it !

Earthquake world series was 33 years ago and Al looked older then.
My God, I forgot he called that game too ! When it happened I was watching the Series pregame with my folks, who'd just come to town for a visit. We were about to go out to dinner when it hit. Decided to stay home and watch the coverage instead.
Is it just me, of does Al Michaels look younger every year? He must have a portrait stashed away somewhere in his attic.
We'll see how well the guys do on a short week. A definite step up in class from Arizona.
Saw a great stat on The Weather Channel, of all places...they showed the QB ratings of Mahomes and Herbert based on the temperature at game time. The warmer the temperature, the higher Patrick's rating. On the other hand, Herbert's rating got worse in hot weather.
(Should be around 80 at kickoff.)
I guess my negative take on The Wheel comes mainly from one particular night in '76. I was there to watch the Royals play the Yankees in the final game of the ALCS. The lead kept going back and forth, with the crowd hanging on every pitch. One particularly obnoxious Yankee fan in the place was giving the Royals fans a lot of crap all game long. Finally, Chris Chambliss hit a walkoff home run to win the game for New York. Never went back again...too many bad memories.
Somehow I never warmed up to The Wheel. Spent a lot of time and money at Harbour Lights and The Hawk, but my favorite drinking spot was The Stables & The Sanctuary on West 7th, near Louise's West. (At first The Sanctuary was the upstairs "private club" before it took the name of the entire building.) The Stables had a horseshoe-shaped bar, and I think it was the first place in Lawrence with a Pong machine. They tore it down in the '80s to build an apartment complex

And the Broncos go down ! Great job by the Seahawks defense. (A buttload of Denver penalties didn't hurt either, not to mention some bizarre late-game play calling.) As for Russell Wilson...what's that old saying ? "You can't go home again."
You're welcome.
And Seattle leads the NFC West....for probably the last time this season.
EXHALE

Scott Frost is probably getting fired mid season with their home loss to Georgia Southern.
That didn't take long, Frost has been fired by Nebraska.
At least he gets a cool $15 mil buyout. As they used to say on the old TV game shows, "a fine parting gift."
And speaking of buyouts:

Omigod, I jinxed him
Jeez, @nwhawkfan !!! You sure did.
Never seen a kicker do that before, on pristine turf.
Seen it in college, and it's probably happened plenty of times in high school. Not in the NFL though.
Omigod, I jinxed him
Speaking of kickers, it's so good to have Butker around. Cairo Santos missed two extra points today for the Bears.
Here we go...
Tougher to hate these Cardinals since they left STL.
Already a crazy day in the NFL At least two games decided by blocked kicks.

Another upset...a mediocre Washington State team goes into Madison and takes down the ranked Badgers.
Call it a reply to the Pac-12 bashers.
Apparently the guy who caught the go ahead TD for WSU transferred there from Wisconsin, lol!
Not only that, but WSU's new coach grew up in Wisconsin. Some homecoming !
Off to late dinner. Pina coladas and pork fried rice. Yum !
Nite all ! RCJH !
Still concerned about the defense, but they stood up in crunch time. Baby steps.
Houston next. A team that DIDN'T close the deal in overtime.
If this keeps up, ESPN and Fox might actually put our games on their REAL channels.
Well, that was pleasant...
Better stock up on Lisinopril, gang...gonna be a loooong, fun season !
TAKE ME HOME...
HAWK MAMBA
PICK SIX !!!!! WE WIN !!!!!!
SHIT
FUMBLE !
YEAAAAAAAHHHH !
D UP
THERE IT IS !
Finally got a call
And of course, it's the "modified Kansas overtime plan" from high school games.
DAMMIT
