@DanR It was like that in Baton Rouge too.

Texas Southern Game Thread • Nov 29, 2022 01:20 AM

Texas Southern Game Thread • Nov 29, 2022 01:15 AM

My sound doesn't work and it's kind of nice that it doesn't.

Texas Southern Game Thread • Nov 29, 2022 01:14 AM

No I don't think they should be ahead of Rocky Top.

Texas Southern Game Thread • Nov 29, 2022 01:12 AM

Do you think we should be ranked ahead of Rocky Top? Asking for a friend.

Texas Southern Game Thread • Nov 29, 2022 12:56 AM

Taylor made evening to see what our bench can contribute and 2 points so far. DHarris has zero points but 6 dimes.

Texas Southern Game Thread • Nov 29, 2022 12:49 AM

A small forward's gonna have to know how to shoot because he doesn't play big enough does he? I never had a problem with Doke not being able to because he didn't need to, but KJ so far hasn't proven he can dominate inside.

@BShark said in Texas Southern Game Thread:

@wissox No

Yes!

Texas Southern Game Thread • Nov 29, 2022 12:45 AM

These guys live in a dorm with a state of the art indoor basketball court or at least goal, right? KJ has been on campus well over a year now. I know there's limits on practice time but he can go in there and shoot whenever he wants, Right. I'm sorry, but there's zero excuse for a guy not being able to make a jump shot. I don't get it. You hear stories of guys spending hours upon hours shooting. What's the problem with KJ? I'm guessing it's a work ethic problem and he needs to improve his shot like JWill has.

My friend and former colleague is the marching band director at Tex Southern. Fantastic band, but I'm still for KU!

Texas Southern Game Thread • Nov 29, 2022 12:18 AM

I could have shot an airball like that

Yeah I'm thinking that tournament might be seen as too good. UNC walks away with 2 losses which is survivable for them I guess. But most teams aren't going to like the potential to lose two games. MSU has to play Portland in a meaningless 5th place game and nearly lost to 5-4 mid-major Portland. Kudos to Sparty for beating Oregon in their homestate, but it makes me wonder how many teams are going to want to travel to the Pacific Northwest and risk two or even three losses.

Meanwhile Indiana holds their own 'invitational' and is 6-0 without having played anybody. And like the last 30 years since Bobby left they're being overrated. But Indiana fans won't tell you they're overrated. They think, to their credit I guess, that Indiana basketball is still relevant.

This is not college hoops exactly but it is other games. I have an impeccable record of switching the channel to the Chicago Blackhawks just at the right time to see the other team score.

Other games • Nov 27, 2022 11:43 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Unless something changed that I'm not aware of we're still Adidas?

If Phil Knight is allowed to do that should the NCAA allow it? I'm no lawyer but it almost sounds like an anti-trust type thing or something. Maybe the great legal minds here can speak to that.

Other games • Nov 27, 2022 11:18 PM

When the new rankings come out it's going to look quite a bit differently than the first month of the season polls.

Other games • Nov 27, 2022 11:16 PM

Anyone know if only Nike schools are being invited to Phil Knight's ego driven tournaments?

Other games • Nov 27, 2022 10:54 PM

I don't really know how you can review that as it's such a judgment call. In real time I thought it was goaltending. I don't care much to be honest.

Other games • Nov 27, 2022 10:35 PM

About to go to 4

Other games • Nov 27, 2022 10:20 PM

3 OT with Carolina and Bama.

That should be spearing/targeting

Well they overturned the Casey catch. Still sitting pretty good. Obviously we need the score and we got it!

Hard to overturn the Casey catch.

World Cup thread! • Nov 26, 2022 03:51 PM

My coaching soccer started in 2000. Until around 2012 I had little experience with kids getting cleated. My son and daughter both played and never once complained about it happening. But the last decade I started noticing it. It's one thing when it's an organized pro team with trainers and such, but when you're a lone varsity coach on a sideline and one of your kids comes off because he's been cleated, and it keeps happening, it becomes a major problem. Junior high kids are doing it where I coach and kids are getting hurt.

This world cup has seen the exit of one of its stars from Brazil when someone from Serbia when cleat first into his ankle. Seeing guys rolling around on the field grasping their ankles is getting tiresome. Matches get to the 90th minute and the referee is adding 7-9 minutes to the match nearly every time.

Despite my coaching experience I'm not an expert on the international game. So my comments may be unwarrented, but it's an observation I've made based on my experience. And just as I'm typing a guy from Denmark gets cleated by a frenchman.

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 01:27 AM

This game is being played in the Bermuda Triangle

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 01:20 AM

Bill Self will never win another national championship. He doesn't have what it takes.

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 01:19 AM

Lol, guy falls down right in front of ref and nothing.

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 01:10 AM

We've only won 17 in a row. A loss is unacceptable.

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 01:05 AM

Rice got fouled

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 01:04 AM

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 01:01 AM

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 01:00 AM

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 12:59 AM

@Zabudda It didn't look good when he got hurt. Looked like a hammy or groin to me.

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 12:39 AM

@jayballer67 you don't remember the 2nd half yesterday?

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 12:31 AM

Where's our bigs? I know udeh made a cameo, but we look small out there.

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 12:27 AM

I'm changing his name to Nosefu

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 12:21 AM

@kuballin10 There's not one person here who thinks KU is last years KU. But you seem intent of reminding us of that every minute. Good grief dude, give it a rest. No one likes to keep reading this crap. There's other people down on the team too, but they just don't drone on and on. Sorry man, I try to be civil but enough is enough.

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 12:17 AM

Adams barges into the lane and refs give him the call.

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 12:15 AM

Tennessee must suck to only be beating this gosh awful team by 1

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 12:11 AM

@kuballin10 You're the one who was telling us last year Bill Self couldn't win another championship if memory serves correct so maybe your pronouncements of doom here are a bit premature. If you weren't the one, I apologize but if you were, well, I can't help but point out that you've been wrong in a major way. DeJuan is not Bills pet, he's an indispensable member of this team and we don't win a championship without him and we're maybe not even 6-0 right now without him.

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 12:08 AM

That dude bailed us out by goal tending

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 12:04 AM

Rice gonna have to get some PT?

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 12:03 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 Looked more like a groin or hammy

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 26, 2022 12:03 AM

Down goes pettiford

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 25, 2022 11:55 PM

I'll admit it's an ugly start.

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 25, 2022 11:54 PM

And all the predictors are gleefully announcing that we're losing by 8.

KU/Tennessee Game Thread • Nov 25, 2022 11:26 PM

Ya'll must be high on tryptophan. We ain't losing to Rocky Top. We may not see it given the length of this game that's on right now, but we ain't losing.

World Cup thread! • Nov 25, 2022 07:10 PM

I'd say a draw through the first half is a victory for USA soccer, no?

Other games • Nov 25, 2022 07:10 PM

FYI, KU toughened up the Badgers for USC today and we took care of them in regulation.

10am Start, Thurs WISCONSIN • Nov 25, 2022 05:07 PM

@BeddieKU23 It certainly was a difference maker. All things being equal, Wisconsin wins that game if they were playing under last years rules.
