ISU Game Thread • Jan 12, 2022 01:58 AM

Bayolor gets away with a foul. Refs trying to figure who it was out on. If it's not TT the fix is in, Vegas has spoken.

Tech beating Baylor by 4. Makes me feel better about getting robbed in Lubbock the other day.

ISU Game Thread • Jan 12, 2022 01:43 AM

97 Senior day was most emotional game he ever coached. Scoring 150 against Kentucky was his other fvorite game.

ISU Game Thread • Jan 12, 2022 01:39 AM

ISU Game Thread • Jan 12, 2022 01:11 AM

ISU Game Thread • Jan 12, 2022 01:10 AM

ISU Game Thread • Jan 12, 2022 01:08 AM

I'm glad I'm not watching!

ISU Game Thread • Jan 12, 2022 01:05 AM

@RockChalkinTexas Thanks for the radio link. Listening now. Unfortunately probably won't be able to watch as I have to go visit our daughter in Minnesota.

ISU Game Thread • Jan 12, 2022 01:03 AM

@DanR No, I can't watch. ESPN+ has me so messed up I can't subscribe even as I tried today. It's been a long soap opera of epic sadness and anger towards ESPN and towards our AD. I mean there's a whole ACC network to show ACC games and what's on ESPNU? Some crappy ACC game. Good grief, two top 20 teams? I know ISU wasn't highly regarded of early on but can't they do a flex schedule to get the good games on TV?

ISU Game Thread • Jan 12, 2022 01:00 AM

Is there a way to listen to this online?

Jayhawks in the pros • Jan 11, 2022 03:36 AM

Joel keeps chugging along, another 30 point effort. 13-13 FT's. I don't know enough about all the big guys in the league but he's got to be one of the better FT shooters out there among them. Oubre might be out hopefully just Covid, but he didn't play. Grimes had a nice game with 7 points and 6 assists.

Non-KU Games • Jan 11, 2022 01:04 AM

Watched the Badgers face Danny and Maryland. After the Badgers opened up a 21 point lead Dannys kids fought back furiously and actually took a 3 point lead before the Badgers won. It's the 3rd game the Badgers have had a 20 point lead that they've blown and then recovered and won, and they also had a 21 point comeback to win. Pretty amazing.

Non-KU Games • Jan 10, 2022 08:46 PM

Heady days in Los Angeles. Latest poll has UCLA 3 and USC 5. Not sure if there's ever been such a high ranking for both simultaneously. I never remember USC being this high to be honest. After what they did to us last year I'd rank them #1!

BIG week ahead • Jan 10, 2022 08:41 PM

It's kind of funny. All off season, the sour taste of the really poor ending to the tournament, which interestingly was just a few weeks after we thumped Baylor, I was pretty guarded in my expectations. Even the team looked drastically different at some key positions it was still nothing I got really excited about. But then Ochai made the big leap forward and Christian did maybe even moreso than Ochai, and I was excited again. I've believed in this team all year, but the scoring issues that arose in the lost two have me concerned all over again.

I take the TT loss with a grain of salt because I seriously think it should have come down to a final possession type of game but there were some truly horrendous calls that repeatedly kept the ball out of our suddenly hot shooters hands. But the loss did show some of the same tendencies as the OSU game although TT was more talented and therefore able to pull it out.

BTW, as a non ESPN+ person, I'm really hoping ESPN will come to its senses and realize they have a top twenty matchup that much of the country won't see. I can probably live without seeing a KU TCU game, but I want to see ISU, like a lot.

Non-KU Games • Jan 09, 2022 05:31 AM

Heck the Miami Heat went to Phoenix and beat them too by a bunch. Nice day for Miami and 78 degrees makes their day even better.

Non-KU Games • Jan 09, 2022 05:28 AM

Ha, at least we didn't lose at home to a chump like Miami.

Jayhawks in the pros • Jan 09, 2022 12:30 AM

Wow, Marcus Morris with a huge effort in a loss today with 29 points and 8 boards. Made 4 of 6 3's.

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 11:07 PM

17 turnovers never helps a team win I acknowledge. Jalen Wilson finally scores some points and inexplicably doesn't rebound the basketball. Obviously no one besides JW and OA were scoring. That of course was huge.

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 11:02 PM

Non travel call in front of Self called a foul instead, 2 points them instead of our ball. Non 3 second call in lane leads to and 1. 3 more points for them. Charge called when Braun did exactly what they did to us 4 times in the first half and got the call. 1 point them. Our rebounder shoved out of bounds leads to and 1. 3 points. Braun gets whacked in face on dunk. Nada -1 point for us. Lose ball Harris shoved to ground, their ball. (I forget if that leads to points or not) 2 times very quick whistle for jump ball, the last one was egregious. 2 possessions lost. I know I'm missing some, but these calls were impactful.

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 10:50 PM

@DanR said in Red Raiders:

Refs need a timeout to get their shit together

Nothing truer has ever been written on these hallowed pages.

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 10:48 PM

No the red raiders didn't have an answer every time. This team in the last four minutes has been denied repeatedly the opportunity to possess the ball.

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 10:46 PM

I'm so irate. Ask my wife.

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 10:45 PM

Would have been our ball but we got fouled

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 10:40 PM

@DanR Of course not. TT doesn't foul nearly as much

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 10:38 PM

Braun was set just as much as the TT guys were in the first half. It's just so bad when refs influence a game like this. We haven't played that well I acknowledge but this is really bad.

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 10:35 PM

Another referree induced momentum swing

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 10:35 PM

Holy crap with all the charges they've called on us and they call that?

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 10:29 PM

@RockChalkinTexas You ever been to sonic? Nothing but overweight people eat there!

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 10:28 PM

But zebras belong in the zoo

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 10:27 PM

I counted their big 4 seconds in the lane BEFORE the guy started his drive. I mean that's as basic a call as there is in basketball. One of the zebras watches the lane.

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 10:25 PM

Wow Missouri beat Alabama
