If we were writing about Duke and their players and how good/bad/injured they are well that'd be a different thing, kind of, but even if they are a force to be reckoned with, I really don't want to read about them here at the best fan forum west of the Atlantic Ocean.
@mayjay Awesome stuff. You're right. We've been extremely fortunate to have this ongoing streak. As you know, I'm also in deep for Wisconsin. They/we proudly point to their streak of finishing top 4 in the Big1G ever since Bo Ryan arrived. Fairly remarkable streak in a tough deep league. But I wonder how many years KU has been in the top 4 of the big 12? Every year since it expanded to 12? Probably. If so how many years before that? I'd guess back to the Ted Owens years.
@nuleafjhawk Yes, I love these when I was a kid discussions! I worked my way through college as a masonry laborer. I worked my tail off all day, stocking scaffold, making mortar, hoisting buckets of mortar up levels of scaffold, getting the bricks up there, etc. I'd get home from work and grab a little dinner then off to the park to play ball for a couple of hours! Like you, I was no athlete, but I played a ton of ball whenever I could which also explains my poor grades whilst at KU!
@dylans You're right. My post was intended at the multiple posts we see about Duke. Grayson this, Grayson that, Duke lost, Coach K did this, did that. I'm kind of tired of seeing crap about Duke on here. If we're playing duke I'll pay attention to Duke. Do we feel inferior to Duke? Is that why we keep bringing them up? I don't know. Are we jealous of them? Maybe?
I know we believe that they receive unfair treatment but, can that really happen? I mean for a conspiracy to happen a lot of people have to be complicit and keep their mouths shut. We've beat Duke 3 of the last 4 times we've played them so the conspirators really screwed that one up, just like they screwed up when they lost to Murray St. or Norfolk or whoever the heck beat them a couple of years ago.
I know I don't have to click on titles that mention Duke. And I'm also guilty. Several weeks ago I put a topic out there (on KUBuckets) about Grayson that was negative, the alleged shove of the FSU coach, or the alleged trip, I forget which at this point (not the real one). 15 minutes later I'm thinking here I am a 52 year old man posting crap about a 2o year old kid. I know he brings on some of the criticism, but goodness, he's a young immature man who will probably grow up into an adult who functions well in our society.
There's nothing wrong with disliking Duke. I dislike them as much as the next person.

If Frank is shooting 60% from 3, and 48% overall, what is his percentage on 2 point shots? It must be pretty low which is really strange. He is 30-69 or 43% on 2's if I added everything up properly. That may be an NCAA record to have a 2 point percentage 17% lower than your 3 point percentage. Most guys when they jack up threes the coach yells no no no, but when Frank jacks up 2's, the coach yells no no no!
JJ's steals and blocks makes up for his poor shooting somewhat I'd guess.
I do like that our team is shooting 75% from the line in conference play.
If you round up, we've got three starters at or above 40% on threes. That's significant.
The one stat that graph doesn't show is wins, and 7 of them is a great way to enter this tough stretch we're going into.

@wrwlumpy Marichal was also known infamously for beating the catcher for the Dodgers I think over the head with a baseball bat. A brutal attack during a game which didn't draw too much discipline.
@kjayhawks I know, but as KU bucket fans, we've done plenty of blaming refs. May not be right, but it's part of being fans I guess, and who really cares? I don't care if it looks bad because I'm complaining in my living room and on a little social media site with a few like minded fans.
