All these years I thought Jay Wright was a lightweight. His coaching skills didn't match his expensive wardrobe. And then I watched him outcoach Bill Self, maybe twice. (I don't remember the Atlantis game too well, I just thought was an upset) Now count me as impressed. National titles against the stalwarts he faced last year move him to the elite of college coaches. He beat at least two #1's on the way to the ring. Maybe 3 if UNC was #1 at some point last year.
@BeddieKU23 Keeping our fingers crossed. I really think Lucas becomes the key to this whole season for us.

@jaybate-1.0 I was thinking the same thing. If Coleby and Lightfoot can't get minutes last night then we've got a seven man rotation. I'm more pessimistic after last night than I have been all season.
Wins are nice of course, especially after that horrible start, but we missed a ton of bunnies and seemingly gave up Red Sea parting drives to the hoop all night.
Not positive Lucas can be a superstar every night either like we'll need him to be.
Watching tonight with my KU roomie. Fun times

@BeddieKU23 Half of the game I wasn't even aware he was out there. I always go to this tournament when I'm home in Chicago for Christmas. I was talking to a HS coach I just happened to be sitting by and he told me about Jerrence being there when he saw my hat. Then he pointed out Markese. I had forgotten about Markese. I don't follow the recruiting like some here do. Next year when I go, I'll sure pay attention!
@wrwlumpy Interesting that on the same page you feature Ginger Rogers you have a ball player whose first name is actually spelled Rogers! Good work as usual, although now that Big12 play is here, you probably can pull up your old posts!
@BeddieKU23 Well he didn't stand out. Scored about a dozen. He's 6 feet tall. Quick. His older brother is going to SIU and scored 37 points. As I mentioned, Markese did have a filthy dunk.

Ha! Don't know about the British thing. I learned that sign from my students and when I use it I definitely mean that!
I like Walton. His conference of champions line comes from the multiple champions in a lot of the lesser sports. I think they've won two or three championships in soccer and volleyball the last month.
The kid Markese Jacobs threw down the filthiest windmill dunk that you'd ever see from a six footer.

The video of that game was awesome. Two superstar centers going at it and having fun. They were smiling and laughing. Pretty cool to see because it's so rare. Everyone plays with a scowl on their face like it's war or something.
By the way @Ralph's comment was referring to the article he posted which you referred to. He was first in other words!
Just saw a power ranking that has us 4th nationally behind Baylor which is 3rd. It was on ESPN
