@kjayhawks I hear you kind of. Our 08 game was a classic for us. But it was a pretty ugly game. UNC/Nova had better offense as I recall and such a spectacular ending that it rises above. 2 & 3 on that list were notable for choking. That doesn't make them better than our game.
The sportsworld is also replete with the role players who are also their absolute best to help their team win a championship. No one ever heard of Gene Tenace in 1972 when he slugged 4 homers to help the A's win it all. Frank, DG, JJ will need to lead us but Landen or Bragg probably will need to become our Gene Tenace in March.....and April, like Macnamera in 2003.
I know these are just stupid articles, but our game with OU last year was being called the greatest game ever, greatest regular season ever, or whatever.
But now this guy has our game with OU 4th on the list. Vill-UNC #1, I understand. No argument.
But then Mid Tenn's upset and TAM's comeback over UNI get 2nd and 3rd nods? Not so sure about that. Memorable games too.

Serenity now!!!
@KUSTEVE Scary to think those two represent our department of the interior with Coleby and Lightfoot ready to contribute something hopefully.
JUMPIN JEE HOSSA FATS, Thanks! You too! I'd like to nominate you for most improved writer also! I know some of us were rough on you when you showed up here a few years back, but your skills improved. Makes it a lot easier to read what you're saying.
By the way Jehoshaphat is the way it's really spelled, but I hesitate saying so because that's one phrase I look for in your posts!
@RockChalkinTexas Very sorry for all that has happened. Obviously we don't know you except by our aliases, but most of us have been around long enought to have formed a bond. I pray God will bless you with comforting memories and encouragement from friends and family as you negotiate these holidays.
@RockChalkinTexas Yeah, February will be fun.
I think we should stick to the topic we all agree about 100 percent of the time. Of course by that I mean we hate Duke! Welcome back Mr. HEM!
Thanks just passed coach calls hometown of moon, pa
Score? I'm traveling and rather ask u folks
I made one trip to Vegas. Didn't waste one penny on the machines. I was at the airport to fly home looking at the machines. I thought what would 1 quarter hurt to gamble? I'm still the only person who went to Vegas and didn't gamble any of my money! It was an amazing place however. Got to see the bridge over Hoover Dam under construction which was pretty amazing.
@JayHawkFanToo I agree. I'd hear people in Kobe v. Lebron arguments (this was before stephs limelight) and it wasn't even close in my mind. Lebron is the most complete NBA player since MJ in my opinion.
@kjayhawks Sorry, I just don't buy it. I've beat this drum before and I will keep on with it because it makes us sound whiney. Villanova, Wichita, Stanford, Kentucky, VCU, NIU, Mich St., UCLA, Bradley, Bucknell, GTECH, Syracuse, Maryland, Illinois, Kentucky. Those are the schools that have knocked us out this century. Some east coast sure, but not enough to cry foul because we've been knocked out by 9 teams not on the east coast in that list. And in that time how many east coast teams have we knocked out of the dance? A lot? UNC, Duke. We actually kind of own Duke lately with the loss in Maui the only one I can think of in this century. I can't think of one loss in the tourney that we can partially blame on the refs, and that was way back in 86.
I think there's some east coast bias in the media, but not so sure in the way they're officiated. But that's just my opinion.
And one more opinion. I hate Duke.
@Lulufulu Yeah, not sure about that if there even is a minutes restriction.
@ralster Not sure I want to see Duke in the FF to be honest. Too many bad memories of Duke getting the whistle.
To be honest I was going to start my post saying Duke is in our heads, that's why we're talking about them and griping about them.
Then I watched the video.
I hate Duke.
@Lulufulu I'll have to do that. I assumed he started strong right off the bat.
Not to be a jerk or anything, but you're on the internet, look it up!
@Lulufulu I'm not going to get carried away. Davis is a superb player who already has accomplished a lot in this league.
@stoptheflop It is a relative term isn't it? I think Kevin Durant is considered small too and he's 6'9". Heck even Danny Manning was considered small by some standards although I don't think they were using those terms back then too much.
I just like the possibility of hearing the announcer saying as the kid steps to the FT line, "Crootin Shootin".
Did you notice the big bird in the middle of the floor? I think it flew over from Lawrence but we're lucky that one of the misery rednecks didn't shoot it out of the sky.
I think we consider it a home game because we hosted that game. Even though it was played in another state.
Another thing I noticed the announcers kept calling it Phog Allen Fieldhouse. No KU fan calls it that. It doesn't say that on the side of the building. It's Allen Fieldhouse. Kind of a nitpicky criticism, but I must say I watched the 2nd half without sound and it was actually kind of nice.
@Crimsonorblue22 That video is awesome! Joel hasn't changed at all! A pic n roll that started sitting on his kiester at the FT line! One of his rebounds off of his own missed dunk! Spin moves. A classic flop when a dude a foot shorter pushed him a little bit! Everyone who ever loved this great game of basketball needs to watch that video! It's a VHOF!
This dude....
33 points 12-17 FG's 2-3 3's, 7-8 FTs 10 RB's 1 Ast. 2 steals, 3 blocks
I'd like to give BIll a room at my house to give when he comes to scout/offer Javonte Smart, a top rated junior who plays just down the road from me. Always wanted to sit down with the coach and shoot the breeze, so Bill, come on by, there's no good motels in the area anyways, they're all really sketchy. Steve
I was thinking I'd like to give myself to Bill for Christmas. My wife is OK with this. I'd be available for whatever he needed, marital advice, spiritual advice, game advice, family advice, player advice, gardening tips. I'd only require a seat nearby him in the arena/fieldhouse that they're playing in, first class tickets to and fro, since, you know, I do have to keep my job here, but so Bill, if you're reading this, and we know you are, I'm giving myself to you. Your friend, Steve
@brooksmd My wife and I just spent an hour sitting on the back patio, I'm still wearing shorts and my short sleeved KU polo shirt!
@brooksmd Feeling kind of guilty turning the air on with all of our northern friends suffering!
Too many minutes for Frank in my opinion. He's gonna wear down, but not sure who else gets his minutes.
@KUSTEVE Actually 16-22 this game. Not awful like other games
I think that's our third airball on a 3
isn't on top of the backboard OOB?
Sveet
@HawkChamp Oh, I agree, but it's a major problem for this team.
Since we're so bad at FT's, can't we just decline the penalty and take the ball?
I think I'm going to watch the game without announcers this half.
How can our home court winning streak be in jeopardy? We're playing in freaking misery.
Announcer on UK/UNC just said when was the last time you saw a basketball game this close that was over 100 points? How about KU/Indy last month?
Wow Kentucky/UNC what a game
@stoptheflop I agree, they're not very good inside.
White fields, red fields in EWashington on ESPNU. Seems like no one is playing football on green fields anymore
@jessejayhawk Kansas City KS is what the guide says
If you all don't start chatting I'm going to have to talk to my wife and kids....
Is this arena in KC, Ks or KC Mo?
Indiana just fell to third place in the state of Indiana
@kjayhawks Baby it's cold outside
Udunka very much
I hate it when announcers call it Phog Allen Field House. Unless of course that's the name of our arena, but it isn't, right?
Let it Sneaux and let's Geaux Jayhawks!
