Michigan is pretty darn good there and Minnesota is pretty darn bad. Of course last night the ground squirrels make a 40 footer in OT to beat Michigan.
@approxinfinity Sorry for the late response, the Y was calling for a late night swim so I turned it off. Maybe this is true for a lot of schools like them but team construction is different. Not too many 5 stars playing there. System players seems to be Gard's MO and he seems to be pretty good at constructing a team. Right now they're fairly deep, but guys coming off the bench are not big time portal guys, but a UWGB guard Kamari McGee who has been amazing, or John Tonje, again not a huge name but is probably an all american, 2nd team, 3rd team? He's pushing the right buttons this year it looks like.
Hunters lack of hustle is glaring today.
Hunter decides not to go for that lose ball.
Could we please make a basket?
We have 16 turnovers. Is that good?
Flory got 4 blocks tonight, 8 as a team.
DaJuan bad at the line today.
Bilas he ran into Hunter.
We have so many balls fall off the rim.
These stupid turnovers....
Wait, how in the heck is that their ball?
Oh boy, KJ looks like he's done for a bit.
ISU is a good team.
Wow it was 2 points, now 10
Oh no, that wasn't a reach in foul
Boom
Unforced errors
Bill Walton (RIP) would have said just catch that ball instead of blocking it.
we have to protect the ball and we have to stop committing phantom fouls when they travel
I hate refs
KJ just got fouled 3 times and wouldn't be hurt if they called either of the first two.
@approxinfinity Meh. Some turnovers hurting, offense has been ok
Every out of bounds call has gone their way.
ESPN for a decade now thinks we love seeing a split screen. I don't want to see Bill Self even talking to a player. I want full screen. How dumb are they?
He looks like a Wisconsin guy.
Nice tackle KJ
@BeddieKU23 Yeah I just saw them foul us obviously and fans in the stands standing with arms raised like they've just been victimized by Jack the Ripper
Fans are too dumb to recognize a travel call is the right call.
@BShark Oh no one wins without Mom. I'm upping my prediction now. 69-60.
Last year I think we'd all agree was one of our weaker teams and we went up to Ames and were down 2 with a minute to go. Lost by 4. We've had some bad in Hilton I agree but last year wasn't so bad. We've been a little shell shocked by some epic routs in the latter part of the Self era therefore there's some pessimism for tomorrows game. We've won 8 out of 10 against them. But lost 2 of the last 3. I feel decent about this one.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Thanks, the list I was looking at was Naismith only.
@AsadZ Chalmers, Agbaji, Tournament Remi, Doke, Dotson, Garrett for his defense
@Texas-Hawk-10 I understand but I still can't believe that someone who has a huge number of #1 seeds, meaning great regular seasons couldn't have garnered more than one which he won in 2012. Interestingly Larry Brown won his in 87-88, which sounds like the vote must have been post season. I'm a bit miffed that Roy didn't get more than one and it wasn't in a winning season either. I think he won 2 or 3 rings with UNC but only got his award in our great 96-97 season.
I'm sure neither guy is losing sleep over it. Proud of our great coaches we've had.
Bill Self is a victim of his consistency and greatness. I was looking at a list of Naismith coach of the year. He's won it once. The guy named after the breakfast drink at KState won it. Calipari has frickin won it 3 times. Roy only won it once with us, none with UNC. Freaking Mark Few has 2 awards. Yes, but Bill Self has 1, but he does have two trophies. 15 coaches on the list since 86 have zero trophies which really should be a major factor in the award.
Chicks love the long ball. A 49-48 football score is rapturous. A game with barely 100 points is awful....say some. But defense is 51% of the game. Yet many comment 'we'll never get to the 2nd weekend' or 'this team is broke'. Not sure why this team can't score the basketball but if we were won 94-80 yesterday it'd be joy in mudville because the team can make shots. No one would be complaining about a 14 point road victory.
Not really seeing this here but seeing comments on other social media about the teams struggles.
IDK, several games ago we watched WVU carve up a very indifferent defense, well at least until they were better. But 2nd half totals. WVU. 29 pts, UCF 23, AZSt 13. Today 15. We've given up 80 points in the equivalent of 2 games of basketball in the 2nd half. Go back further, Brown scored 22, NCState only scored 30. That's 132 points given up in the 2nd halfs of 6 games, an average of 22. Seems like the team turned a corner after the Missou loss.
@BShark How much does defense cause a team like cincy to miss so many shots at the rim? I mean my screen was really pretty poor quality but there must have been ten plays where through the snow I thought oh crap they're gonna score and then somehow they missed? Looked like a lot of really easy wide open misses to me. I know defensive pressure can get in a kids head but, idk, what's the answer?
@Crimsonorblue22 Home
@Crimsonorblue22 Not if you sinc it up with Hanni and Gurley!
thanks ladies and gents, always fun to give my 2 cents!
Wave the wheat, this was pretty neat!
@approxinfinity Another verse without rehearse.
We made 50, this one turning nifty!
@Kcmatt7 Have you been paying attention to the Badgers? 116 against Iowa the other day! Gard has some scorers this year and is freeing them up a lot. He really has done so somewhat since Bo left. But I love defense and it's a virtue in the game and we hold a team to under 40 like we possibly could here I'll say it's a thing of beauty.
Mayo looks for the Kayo
Patoh3 had a bad fall trying to dunk the ball
@DCHawker Rhyming now too!
Missed dunk Painful for Dan, but not for me cause dunks were not in the plan.
A great fast break, and a sweet hunter make
