@nuleafjhawk I have seen in recent weeks KState fans on twitter saying Leipold is leaving, Jalon Daniels is leaaving, blah blah blah. To be fair I suppose there's some insufferable KU basketball fans who are constantly reminding them of our massive footprint on the game of NCAA Basketball, and their miniscule small toe print on it.

Fox sports doesn't list us in a bowl game, which I think is possible, but not probable?
Athlon has us in the guaranteed rate bowl against Maryland.
247 also likes us for Guaranteed rate against Northwestern. CFN has us in same game but against Nebraska, an interesting proposition.
One ESPN guy also has us in the Guaranteed Rate bowl against Northwestern, the other ESPN guy has us in the liberty bowl against South Carolina @mayjay
Jerry palm and CBS has us currently in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl against Maryland
I guess I'm so conditioned to KU football being bad, and not having grown up here nor lived here, that losing to KState doesn't bother me too much in football. I'm still at the moral victory stage of things but really hoping that the renaissance of KU football continues.
Lance said postgame that Bean was available to play but he thought it was best to go with Ballard. This is a headscratcher.
@nuleafjhawk True, if you're not sure of the play. They're on the 10-20 or so, late first half, 4th down. We get a stop and a half hour later a flag comes out, PI. They get 1st down, score a TD. It was a huge call. Coulda been a difference maker.

And yet, if the refs keep their laundry in their pocket on a 4th down play, we get the ball back and they don't score a TD on the next play or two. I know they play it differently if that call is not made, but that was a really huge call and Lance went ballistic.
For a decade or more we've been watching us blow games against 'mid majors' with plays like tonight and then just getting walloped by Big 12 teams. I really haven't watched KU football unless I happen upon it and get sucked in it for a minute until someone drops a pick 6 or a kick gets blocked and returned or someone muffs a punt. The difference is back then I'd turn it off and check the schedule for basketball calculating when it's going to start up. We've got something to be thankful for during thanksgiving this year, besides all the normal things like big screen smart tvs, and dumb phones, and heat and raising canes and deep dish pizza and of course Jayhawk basketball.

@kjayhawks Are you serious? Drunk? I've watched more KU football in the last 2 years than I have in a decade and more. Trust the process. There's improvement every year. How is it Lances fault that a kid drops a pick 6? Jalon Daniels and Bean injuries to boot? My goodness, he's a spectacular coach. I know it's D-3 but you don't win 6 national championships without some unique skill.
Some silver linings to this dark cloud. Guaranteed winning record. Got guys coming back. We have a coach building culture of success. We beat OU for goodness sakes. I'm really hoping Lance can find the right guys to improve our defense. We just give up too many yards.
The good news is KState is at the 10. Maybe we get one more stop and get another chance.
