BIG TWELVE TOURNAMENT • Mar 08, 2015 07:32 PM

Could OSU and Texas be out of the NCAA after the the first day?

Will Brannen play in our game?

Will Lucas Play 33 minutes again?

Can I avoid hearing the score before I get home from work and watch it on DVR?

Will I be able to get tickets from the ISU fans after they lose?

Will WHB broadcast the K State pre game rally?

Will one team's announcer interview the other team's announcer?

Self would rather have this time to practice, but he always says, "If you're gonna play em, you might as well win em."

Look at the minutes and line for Lucas.

!image.jpg ↗

Besides Oubre, - Graham, Lucas, Mick and Svi were all in the game with five minutes to go. All played great. This could have been the best thing to happen to this team before the Tournament. Coach and the bench have confidence, Coach in them and the players in themselves.

Coach seemed to be very mad at Brannen in the post game interview.

@RockChalkinTexas Coach said it was a mistake to play Wayne at all.

It was ugly, ugly, ugly and made me happy to be a Jayhawk fan. I too wanted a different ending, but, still proud. Greene might be left out of the next game.

Second time this has happened this year.

Vegas Money has increased on OU to 5.5.

I'm pretty sure that most Sooner fans feel that he will be in the game tomorrow. He's the Tyler Self of Oklahoma.

OU opens as a 4.5 favorite.

You're right, Syracuse looks like it got the Death Penalty.

Time to get Norm back to the New York area to get these recruits.

!B_ZYZPhWcAABd_P.jpg ↗

Tomorrow in Norman, OU will not see Perry, Cliff and possibly Wayne. How can anyone expect KU to win this game on the road. Self has said they are tweaking the Offense for the game. If every there was going to be a chance for Brannen to come out of his slump, this is it.

Jamari will take Perry's spot, Lucas will take Jamari's spot, and Hunter will be the next Big in the game. Bulldog played 42 minutes in the last game, Ice Water will have big minutes and OU will try to blanket Kelly. I believe in the toughness of this group. A team led by Jamari instead of Perry is bound to be tougher. I just hope that pride keeps us in the game and makes it close in the last 5 minutes. We are big underdogs on the road. But Frank told coach he doesn't want to rest and Wayne says he wants to play. If you've to play the game, you might as well try to win it.

Cliff • Mar 06, 2015 04:05 PM

The delay apparently is caused by the fact that Cliff's Lawyer has not let him answer questions from the NCAA.

I would take Tony Bennet as the next coach.

2008 BIG 12 Tournament highlights KU/Texas.

I always used to hope that KU would remain at the seed that it went into the Big 12 tournament without having to play in the Championship game. 3 games in 3 days makes it difficult to be in top shape to begin on a Thursday to play 2 games in 3 day in the NCAA. Roy's teams always played better in the Tournament if they could go back to Lawrence for the extra day of rest and practice. Then Mario and Brandon got into the trey shooting contest with Augustine and the Longhorns and won it in 2008 and my theory was blown up. This year, except for having to play one extra game, the bottom four would not surprise anyone if they ended up in the Championship game. TCU has turned the corner and Tech has ruined three other good teams chances at winning the Conference.

If KU wins two games, they keep their 2 seed and will not have to be in UK's Bracket. They will go to Omaha where we have not lost a game and hopefully face UVA to go to the Final Four.

The story each year is that KC Bars and Restaurants cheer for ISU and KU to go as far as they can because these teams travel well and ISU looks forward to this Tournament more than any other sporting event they participate in. KSU also enjoys the City and looks forward to KK leading their pre-game rallies. Things are a bit easier for the Big 12 now that they play the Final Game on Saturday. Before they did this, the Bracket was already filled out and it didn't make any difference up or down what KU would do in the last game of the year before the tournament. Usually KU would be watching the selection show in their warm ups.
But it is a big party at the Power and Light and for some reason, the weather becomes Spring like and tickets are cheap after the 2nd round, sometimes people just give them to you as they head back to Ames or Manhattan. I think the real purpose of the tournament, which is in the perfect City for College Basketball, is to sell BEER.

AN INSTANT CLASSIC • Mar 05, 2015 06:55 PM

I re-watched the game last night and it ended before anyone scored in overtime. Same thing happened to the last possession against Mizzou.

Unreal - The Power of Self. • Mar 05, 2015 02:36 PM

!r.PNG ↗

My final four would be Self, Bennett, Jacobson and Turgeon.

!image.jpg ↗

Why do I do it? On the way home tonight, 610 was talking baseball and I like the Royals, but it is March and the Jayhawks clenched the Title last night. I switched to WHB where Keitz and Jack were talking about KU winning the league with the worst team that Bill Self has ever Coached. Then Jack wanted to say that KU only wins at home because the Refs are too intimidated to call a foul on KU. Kevin chimed in that on the last play of regulation, that there were bodies all over the floor and nothing was called. If you have watched the highlights all day, Lucas got a clean block and then had his legs taken out by his own man,(Wayne), and three Jayhawks were on the ground. Jack said that they will be gone in the first round this year, but Bill is a great coach. My Radio then exploded.

Statline of the night • Mar 04, 2015 06:43 PM

Biggest block of the year by Landon Lucas.

http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:12417312 ↗

Last night, WVU played their best half of basketball. I have never seen that kind of pressure since the Nolan Richardson days. I knew we would be better in the second half, but I didn't think we would be able to come back without Perry. Huggy had thrown everything but the kitchen sink at us in the first half and they were spent and a step slower which caused the fouls and their inability to score. The fact that we used our bench to do it was what was amazing. WVU will do well in the tournament going against teams that have not seen them before. We won in overtime without Perry, Kelly and Cliff. Bad Ball or not, last night is why I am glad Dr. Naismith invented this game.

The True Calling of Jamari Traylor • Mar 04, 2015 04:46 PM

Jamari last night was the Jamari I thought he would be this season. Last year he led the Big 12 in scoring percentage, because everything he shot was within 5 feet, except 5 or 6 times when he would be perfect from 10 feet out with a great jump shot. He needs to attend some kind of pro camp this summer to maximize his skills. For a guy who slept in a car during the winter in Chicago, he will make a lot of money two years from now playing in Europe.

Statline of the night • Mar 04, 2015 04:32 PM

I remember that Kevin Young was always left open at the Key also. He was told not to shoot from there.

Unreal - The Power of Self. • Mar 04, 2015 04:20 PM

I didn't get the pundits name on the radio this a.m. but he said, Self, this year, could have coached 5 other Big 12 teams to the Conference Championship. Easily.
