Richmond giving Kentucky all they want. ISU fuckin blowsssss.
All I really meant in the other thread is we have a Nova type roster. :p
JRE is a good player but he really doesn't like playing defense from what I've seen.
@Kcmatt7 said in Expectations for the season:
My gut tells me this team is going to be an elite defensive team that has games where they struggle to score.
Oh my! ;)
It's alphabetical with every team listed as cool. KU is in deep, however.
I posted bits from this earlier but basically they are selling him on immediately starting at PG and have a great relationship with his dad that goes back many years.
@BeddieKU23 If he wants PT it should not be a P5 school. One might wonder what his ranking would have been w/o wealthy parents.

Reminded me of Devonte with the confident jumper. They look similar athletically. Can see the appeal
Yeah, my first thought actually. His shooting splits are quite nice and overall stats solid too.
@jayballer67 staff wants him in 21. Room would be made, if needed.
@BeddieKU23 said in 2021 Transfer Talk/List:
Wow. He really struggled as a freshman. Not sure Texas is hurt by this move
Texas is not even impacted, he wasn't in the rotation. That bad.

Look at this puff piece. LOL.
42% from three on over 200 attempts as a SO.
@KirkIsMyHinrich said in Non-KU Games Thread:
Their freshman, Johnson and Steward, played well. Their upperclassman looked like that one curse word.
Weird that K isn't developing lower ranked guys like Goldwire. Hell Joey Baker was top 30. Pathetic.
Assuming it will be a transfer at the semester so he will be able to play next year if he isn't eligible immediately.
Will Baker announcing his transfer through his family's personal public relations firm has me howling.
Coppin State hanging with Duke!!!
Through 4 minutes...
Zags have 3 good bigs. I count Kispert as a big though.
He's a really good rebounder, but that won't make the highlights. He got that rebounding average while that team also had a 7'2'' guy.
Yeah he was otherwise really bad defensively in both games. Not surprised he only played 5 minutes against St Joe. Wilson and Tristan are better options at this point.
@Kubie said in St Joes Game Thread:
I finally had time to watch the game this morning. A few things I picked up were
Marcus was fair at point other than he was trying to hard to get others involved instead of taking what was available. He needs to play the 2 and boy do we have a freshman that can play point
Christian just showed the freshmen the kind of effort they need to display at both ends if they want to steal his starting role. All the upside in the world can’t beat what he showed today.
If big Dave can’t rebound or defend better than what we saw he isn’t going to see the floor much.
I expected more from Mitch his effort seemed lacking which is odd.
Did I mention we have some freshmen that can play? Harris has some sick skills
Mitch is really really bad and I think most people are realizing that now. Unfortunately I'm not surprised but I get wanting to be hopeful for guys.
I think CB is locked as a starter the rest of his time at KU barring something insane.
Bossi just called this kid a "mauler" and a "defensive end in the paint". YES PLEASE.
Bossi's comment on Isaacs has me even more excited...
Me before the season "Jalen is a poor fit for Bill"

True. Curry looks like a smaller Doke from size, power, bounce
Yeah I'm calling him mini-Dok.
@BeddieKU23 said in 2021 Recruiting:
Thanks sounds promising. Interested to see if the emergence of Harris becomes a thing or something the staff can still recruit the position with hey we got an open spot
Yeah Isaac's would start and play 30 minutes a game next year so that's a non-issue. He is 22 but KU wants him to reclass. His top 4 (not official but the main players right now) is an even Nike/Adidas split lol. He's at Wasatch where Kurtis has strong connections so it would be nice to not get blind-sided on another Wasatch kid...
The staff wants a PG for next year pretty badly, even with Harris being solid. They don't really view Bryce as a PG.

Looking like Aidoo ends up at Marquette, who is likely out for Etienne.
Bummer but Curry has some serious muscle and bounce to him and probably sees the court earlier then Aidoo
There would have been a lot of overlap with Gethro and Aidoo imo. Curry definitely offers something our other bigs don't, he looks immovable. Zach is an elite shooter so Curry will be the only true non-shooting big.

We offer? Are we in it?
Yes and yes. Throwing the kitchen sink at him.
Kansas: “They’ve been telling me just to come in and I will have the ball in my hands right away. They don’t have a point guard right now as you can see. They need a point guard really bad and I’m close with coach [Kurtis] Townsend so that’s a good relationship.”

The drop off last season when we subbed him in wasn't even this dramatic. He can and will be better.
Baylor's front court is w/e. West Virginia will be an issue. Wouldn't be surprised if KU splits with both this year.
:eyes:
@wissox If I had realized this was the game thread initially I would not have made one. My bad on that. I thought it was just a random discussion thread based on the original title.
I think it's pretty clear this team isn't winning a title, they might be a second weekend team though. Next year could be really promising.
Jalen "Morris" Wilson?? :eyes:

KState Colorado game is interesting.
pssst - -me again lol - -what channel buddy ? - -and thanks
Something with ESPN, I was streaming it.
Ochai's shot is wonderful now, it really is. This staff is so good at taking guys that have a workable shot and ironing out the kinks. The evidence is undeniable at this point.
BILLANOVA LMAO
KState Colorado game is interesting.
Make KU screen and dunk again.
This team does not have the DNA for a typical Self offense. Need to scrap the screen game because Mitch and Dave suck at it. Drive and kick. Minimize dumping it into Dave. Spray threes.
Bill is smart, excited to see the post Christmas offense.
Bill needs to call Jay for tips with this year's roster.
If he was even as good at defense as Perry or Landen I could live with the rest. He hurt his knee in the first half which is apparently why he came out worse in the 2nd half and ultimately didn't play most of it.
Tyon is hurt as well, but we already knew that. It was very apparent unfortunately, you could tell just by watching.
There are NBA PGs at Pepperdine and Ohio. That's insane.
Double OT!
@BeddieKU23 said in St Joes Game Thread:
Braun with 30 is big time. Hopefully he can score like that against better competition.
Agbaji has been very consistent so far. Nice to see out of him.
The guys I don't think mesh with this team are Enaruna, Lightfoot, McCormack and TGF. We need at least one of them to figure it out defensively because they are all liabilities on that side of the court.
We need Dave to up his hoops IQ, that can be hard.
UCLA seems to be a black hole.
Easy to overlook Ochai dropping 18.
I LOVE Jalen's willingness to compete. You can't teach that. Shot is decent 6/9 from the line.
@Kcmatt7 said in St Joes Game Thread:
We were +21 in 16 minutes with Harris on the floor
Is this good if so why.
Dave tweaked his ankle in the first half.
@Crimsonorblue22 said in St Joes Game Thread:
Tyson -- needs to learn, quickly
Tyon has all the tools but lacks the hoop smarts that Jalen, Bryce, Harris and Braun have.
Bryce can defend too
