MONEY IN THE BANK so far.

Frank/Devonte ...Agbaji/Braun Deja Vu • Sep 22, 2018 04:25 PM

KU was far from the first P5 offer for any of these guys though.

I was all aboard the Graham bandwagon in particular. It was very clear he had the tools to be a special player.

Calm down on Braun. He's a guy that maybe tops out at 7ppg his SR year. Neither will be AA or POY in any facet. Feel free to save this post for later.

CFB Week 4 - Degenerates thread • Sep 22, 2018 03:48 PM

@Kcmatt7 Missouri's D is terrible but I think Lock keeps them in it.

BAD NEWS FOR DA BEARS • Sep 22, 2018 02:51 PM

@JayHawkFanToo agree. Loser goes home lol.

Journal World • Sep 22, 2018 02:32 PM

Their biggest issue is that they devalued their product by making it free for so long.

CFB Week 4 - Degenerates thread • Sep 22, 2018 02:26 PM

@Kcmatt7 yeppp, snyder is always undervalued.

I like Missouri to cover today.

Journal World • Sep 22, 2018 02:25 PM

LJW definitely isn't worth the sub.

2019 Recruiting • Sep 22, 2018 02:02 AM

So Cal Berkley came in and snagged DJ Thorpe who I was mentioning would be a nice get for KSU. Sucks to suck for ol Brucey.

2019 Recruiting • Sep 21, 2018 07:00 PM

Late Night is going to absolutely blow away his other visits so here is hoping!

2019 Recruiting • Sep 21, 2018 07:00 PM

@jayballer73 They are the favorite right now which is why we were all hoping it was not a commitment today.

@Kcmatt7 I think UCLA is the favorite. He loves LA and his mom went there. We’ll have a better idea after Late Night.

Yep. Hopefully the visit is a home run.

2020 Recruiting • Sep 21, 2018 06:45 PM

Dante and all of Sunrise will be in for late night.

Preseason Hype/Discussion • Sep 21, 2018 03:20 PM

Playing pg for Self as a freshman is tough but Dotson has all the tools to succeed.

USC just picked up another guy today, so at this point I think it is more than safe to say they're out.

Super out. Stanley would start at KU.

Good bigs in 20 are going to be hard to come by if this class keeps trending the way it is. Really important KU doesn't miss in 19 here

Yep. Part of why I wouldn't hate Mitch taking a RS. He could be much more valuable as a 5th year SR. Put him with JR McCormack, SO JRE and some Lawsons and that's prettttty okay.

2020 Recruiting • Sep 21, 2018 01:27 PM

He's a top 10 type talent. Effortless scorer and gets after it on the glass too.

I would take Strawther in a heartbeat over Harvey. Situations aside Strawther is just better.

It's not even a little bit close.

2019 Recruiting • Sep 21, 2018 01:23 PM

I certainly hope it is a cut today and he makes the visit though of course.

@JayHawkFanToo

KU isn't involved in his recruitment

Correct. Things change though and another year of development and distancing the legal case could get KU back into the picture.

2020 Recruiting • Sep 21, 2018 01:17 PM

@BeddieKU23 Yeah, a lot depends on how many scholarships will be available. 19 is looking like a big class without any oad guards/wings. Dotson, Moore, Garrett, KJ, Agbaji and Braun could all theoretically still be around and that would be a salty really experienced group at that point (JR, RS SR, SR, 6th year SR, JR, SO). That doesn't even factor in McBride if he ends up in Lawrence.

2019 Recruiting • Sep 21, 2018 12:55 PM

@JayHawkFanToo Braun had an OV to Oklahoma scheduled when he committed to KU. Sam Williamson had two more OVs scheduled after Louisville. Means nothing if the kid wants to commit.

2019 Recruiting • Sep 21, 2018 12:46 PM

@BeddieKU23 Lol. If he isn't committing today there is a shot. I would say not a very good shot but you get him on campus and who knows.

Even without him Self has had worse guard/wing rosters than Dotson, Moore, Garrett, KJ, Agbaji, Braun, McBride.

2019 Recruiting • Sep 21, 2018 12:39 PM

@JayHawkFanToo USC is getting cut today.

Nice to see Lon adding some good players. They certainly have lots of pt available.

UCLA board thinks Stanley will be narrowing his list, most likely setting up visits.

Ryan on phog thinks he's announcing.

To add to this.

For those that don't want to click, Matt Scott saying it's a cut to 3.

UCLA probably the favorite at the moment, but KU getting the visit is huuuueg.

2020 looks like it will be a battle for top talent. At this point I don't think KU has any advantage with anyone. It may be interesting to see if KU can get Jr's to take visits with that rule change.

Julian Strawther and Bryce Thompson. Ty Berry assuming they get around to offering him which I really hope they do.

If he does commit to UCLA tomorrow I'd love to see KU push hard for McBride.

2019 Recruiting • Sep 20, 2018 09:52 PM

Things escalating super quickly here lol.

2019 Recruiting • Sep 20, 2018 09:47 PM

@FarmerJayhawk Ryan on the Phog saying it will be a commitment now.

2019 Recruiting • Sep 20, 2018 09:08 PM

@FarmerJayhawk Agree with you, a cut seems most likely. I was thinking maybe even cut to 3. KU should be on it, I'd think. Exciting.

2019 Recruiting • Sep 20, 2018 09:00 PM

@FarmerJayhawk Is this what Gershon was saying? I have VIP but couldn't read it...stupid 24/7.

2020 Recruiting • Sep 20, 2018 08:49 PM

@justanotherfan Fair enough. Greene's poor attitude didn't help him either.

2020 Recruiting • Sep 20, 2018 07:10 PM

@KUSTEVE Braun has a really solid all around game whereas Greene was very one dimensional.

I've now seen this comparison kicked around more than once: Marcus Garrett but a little bit worse in every area except shooting where he is much better.

2020 Recruiting • Sep 20, 2018 06:12 PM

@justanotherfan I agree that KS HS basketball is not a good indicator at all. Which can definitely make evaluation more difficult and why it was nice to see Braun do well in AAU.

SEC is Loaded this season... • Sep 20, 2018 05:27 PM

Agree. Sec is always loaded with great athletes too.

2020 Recruiting • Sep 20, 2018 05:25 PM

We will see. I think UK has the best roster in the country.

2020 Recruiting • Sep 20, 2018 05:15 PM

Sleeper for second perhaps. Kentucky is running away with that league.

2020 Recruiting • Sep 20, 2018 02:11 PM

@justanotherfan not sure how many of those guys are KU level. Then again if you had asked me about Braun before his JR season I would have said no way.

I think Raimey could be a WSU, Tulsa etc... level guy.

Xavier Bell I haven't seen play I don't think. Is he on an aau team?

Jonathan Jackson you would have to think ends up at UNC if they want him. At this point, he almost feels like a walk-on for UNC or KU though.

O’mar Stanley looks intriguing.

If we land any of those assumed Memphis bound kids, you have to think the Lawson's had a big impact. And that Self knew they were 1000% worth the risk.

Yeah landing Wiseman would be a major coup. Still think he ends up at Memphis though.

2020 Recruiting • Sep 20, 2018 12:09 PM

Some other names to keep an eye on

Ty Berry

Daishen Nix

Bryce Thompson

Julian Strawther

Not sure if KU will be in the Greg Brown sweepstakes but he is really good.

Who Will KU Be This Season?...Now • Sep 19, 2018 05:50 PM

in the past 15 years of Coach Self's tenure at KU, has he ever diverted from playing more than 7-8 guys per game once the core gets tightened up. especially in Big 12 play and post season? I honestly cant think of any time he did that, even when he was able to with depth. This will absolutely affect offense and defense with who plays and doesn't.

Can he keep anyone on this team from seeing meaningful minutes who deserves them? We are so deep you guys.

I wonder how much he learned, got comfortable with during his USA bball time this summer in relation to using a full roster on the court.

It depends on what your cut-off point is.

The highest minutes for the 9th guy

2014-15 15 this was a crazy year, the 10th (Svi) guy got 11 minutes a game but only played in 26 games.

2010-11 13 mpg and played every game. Releford was the 10th guy and played 10 minutes a game and 29 games.

2015-16 8.9

When Self has the quality depth to do iot he will play 9 guys.
