@Kcmatt7 Well it's definitely bold. I assume you have looked at the rosters for the Oklahoma schools?
Kruger had two take 2 grad transfer guards from 16 seed type schools.

Chicago hoops politics hurt THT's ranking imo, should be a 5*.

I've got a friend at work who is an Iowa State fan. He's optimistic they won't be the bottom feeder this year and thinks they can win twice against Texas. I don't share his optimism.
They should be better, a couple of key transfers eligible. Wigginton & Lard are 1st team Big-12 candidates. Their starting 5 is better then OU, OSU, Tech & Baylor. Should be interesting to see what Prohm does with talent
Agree. Might even be a better starting 5 than TCU as well. They have a couple guys (THT, Zion G*) that I'd take for KU in a second. Add a couple RS SRs and an NBA guard (Wigginton) and they should be pretty salty.
*Not sure how much he plays this year with their roster situation but I think he is really good and was hoping KU would get him.
Their front court is pretty good, as a whole I would take it over KSU's front court.

I don't know if they will sweep Texas but I do like their roster.

Well if UK is serious they will probably get him. He isn't a top priority for KU.

If Beaty finds five more wins and gets bowl eligible, he will have coached well enough to deserve to keep his job. That would mean beating Rutgers this weekend and four of these five opponents - Baylor, Iowa State, Texas Tech, K-State, Texas.
That would also mean at least two more road wins.
If this team goes 6-6, Beaty will be in Lawrence next year. I envision 3-9 at best, and 1-11 is obviously in play since KU won't have a huge advantage in any game this season. Like @Woodrow says, this team isn't winning 5 or 6 games. If they do, Beaty may get a statue and a new contract.
I will personally build a statue of Beaty if he gets bowl eligible this year.
Not sure who this DaSousa player is. Maybe he plays for the same team as Heinrich, Seldon, Frankcamp and MacLemore
Fair enough kcmatt. The chargers played as is typical of them. The int was so bizarre, rivers wasn't even under any pressure.
Doesn't solve enough imo. Still only two good secondary players in that scenario.
@Woodrow no need to wait, Beaty is still a terrible coach. I'm happy for the players to get that win but this staf has to go.

@BShark I think this last game will certainly motivate him!
I hope so. He is an NFL level talent he just has to scrape by in school for three years.
Pooka doesn't like going to class. He'd be at lsu or Bama if they felt he wasn't headed for juco. Still not sure what kind of voodoo got him eligible. This could be a week to week issue if he skips a bunch of classes.
@BeddieKU23 agree on all accounts. Having a starter level player as a back-up is huge. There will be match-ups where I would start him over Doke.

@BShark I mean Luinstra is like what you expect to get as far as Walk-ons go. Good player from local high school, but not D1 good. Probably D2 though. Especially considering he played 6A ball.
So like Bechard, Juenemann, Kleinmann, Morningstar* etc...
*OMEGALUL

I just can't get over how good our Walk-on players are. You forget that Self basically got a steal in Teahan and Elliot. Luinstra is like the model player as far as walk-ons go.
I wish I could buy a season pass to watch practices this year lol.
Yeah this is a very solid walk-on group. Teahan is a legit D2 player, not sure about Luinstra as I never saw him play but he seems to be a good kid and Elliott is a walk-on that visited the likes of UK/AZ for a rea$on.

My bad not Lance (although that stuff is kinda funny - calling KSU to spite KU after Henry was signed) but DeShawn Stevenson. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/DeShawn_Stevenson ↗ Didn’t play a game for KU because of SAT scores being disputed by the NCAA and he just went pro straight out of HS. I was pissed.
Ah yeah, I remember this as well.

I love Mahomes arm, but man Tryeek is fast as they come. Just crazy fast.
Ya. NFL players are fast...so to think about a guy that makes most other NFL players look SLOOOOOW. Pretty wild.
I'm sorry Rodgers-senpai. I should never have doubted you.

I did not watch the game but looking at the stats they look pretty lopsided in favor of San Diego; how exactly did the Chiefs win?
Special teams.
Packers are not surviving that division with 2x games against those Bears and Vikings D. Oline is a trashfire. Prayers up for Rodgers.
@JayHawkFanToo Well, in that case, Moore has shown he isn't that interested in defense. I thought he wasn't a great fit when he transferred in. Like you said though he will find out what it's like to play for Self.
kjayhawks said:
I thought Mahomes did fairly decent let’s no go crazy, Hill got most of his yards after the catch. The defense was a joke for the most part, Chargers dropping numerous passes and ST won the game for KC.
Exactly.

Jokes aside the Chargers kicked the Chiefs ass today. Got lucky with special teams.
What??
Did you watch the game? Chiefs got a bit lucky today. The defense is a huge issue going forward.
Kcmatt7 said:
I could expand on this, but Kelce and Watkins are what is allowing Hill to run all over the field the way he is. Kelce will show up in a couple of weeks.
Was really impressed with Watkins today despite the low stats.
Crimsonorblue22 said:
Where's Kelce?
Alex Smith having a limited arm really made him lock onto Kelce and other TEs.
If TE isn't going to be a huge part of the offense anymore I would honestly consider Kelce expendable for the right trade offer.

Berry coming back? Dang injury reports
hopefully next week

@BShark missing peters
And Berry. Actually, any remotely good safety at all. Fuller is the only good secondary player. ZERO pass rush.

Chargers out here trying to lose lmao.
Ian Kenyon

Mahomes threw 10 INT in 591 attempts in his last season at Texas Tech and people tried to tell you he'd be an interception machine.
Orlando Scandrick is not good at football. Gonna be a problem all year.
Let's have another long TD drive Mahomes!
GREAT opening drive to start the 2nd half.
Weird game. KC porous D but Chargers dropping easy catches.
@JayHawkFanToo I have a buddy in NC that went to a lot of his games. I trust his comments on it. He said Dotson is a big time junk yard dog and does w/e it takes to win, hates losing etc...
I've never felt less confident about a team ahead 14-6.
dylans said:
Moore’s defense scares me more than anything else. I think scoring won’t be much of an issue once they establish an identity. I hope Dotson or Moore can cut off the attack at the point on D. That completely changes the game. If it’s no D from the point guard position watch out.
Dotson has the tools and desire to defend. Moore does not.
dylans said:
Sanctions may be looming for Jimbo if he can’t get his recruits to STFU.
Oh?
Herman chose the wrong qb and UT under him lacks identity.
Bet ND like they have a shitty inaccurate qb.
UGA is Bama 2.
I'd much rather see KJ at the 4 over Mitch.
dylans said:
Billy Preston or Lance Stevenson. Probably Billy
I thought Lance would have been a Hawk if not for X Henry.
Will Self have line-up and minutes flexibility remains to be seen. It's going to be a fun season.
Aggies are trending up while Texas still sucks. FSU was idiotic for letting Jimbo go.
Add Michigan State to the sucks list. Lots of skill position talent, poor line-play and coaching (they need a new OC and OL coach imo).

@BShark Why would we let a few facts get in the way of a good ole Cal bashing? Facts/Schmacks JB, Cal/Kentucky bash away. I love it.
Ha!
I'm definitely no fan of Cal. I don't even think info has to be twisted/distorted to say his title record at UK has been disappointing. Hell I think UK fans would say that at this point.
Ah JB, ignoring the facts once again to spin a yarn. 2012 UK had 3 OADs. They only really played 7 guys and the 7th guy played 12 minutes a game. That Wisconsin team in 2015 had two guys at 40% from 3. Then another two in the high 30s. One of their guards that played 24 minutes a game was at 28% and Dekker who was one best 4 players on that team was at 33%.
I wanted to ignore this, but it was so wrong the corrections had to be noted so that no one potentially believes it.
