Rio Adams' single greatest contribution to KU right there.
Honestly that kid could hoop, too bad he didn't have his head on right.

KU never seriously recruited Garland.
It makes IU much less appealing to Langford...
@jayballer54 Watch for Garland to commit to Vandy. If he does, that's good for KU. Langford wants to play with other 5*s. He is also good friends with Grimes.
Was. Definitely was. Past tense is important.
Also @jayballer54 glad to see you are aboard the Grimes and 1-2 rt donks plan. However, there might be some interesting developments with Romeo...

So about that Dotson/Grimes backcourt! Looking more and more like a reality..
Absolutely giddy thinking about that dynamic next year
This is from a Marquette poster that seemed pretty tied in. In case anyone here missed it.
"Got official word. MU is out of the race. Felt really good after the visit but couldn't seal the deal. MU has cancelled their in home and is moving on. Heard that UK is officially out too. Makes it a two horse race...with one horse significantly ahead of the other one. The TU visit today might have just been a courtesy to tell Shaka in person. "
Well, UK pushed for and is getting a visit from Herro. UK people think it's a rubber stamp visit and he will soon commit to UK. Interesting this happens after their last home visit with Grimes, can't imagine why. @BeddieKU23 @jayballer54
If anyone wants to continue, definitely take it to the politics board please.
@HawkChamp Amen.

I thought our offense looked disjointed most of the night. I think DG took a powder. which won't happen during the real games. This team could certainly take some time to gel, but I think we definitely have enough firepower to compete with all comers.
Yeah I mentioned this in another thread. Seemed clear DG wanted others to shine.

@BShark Gotta be somebody tall in the intramural leagues, or on the alleged football team....
Someone on the phog mentioned TE James Sosinski played JUCO hoops and had some D1 offers.
@mayjay Yeah, we could use either one of them tbh. I still think Self needs to fool around and try to find another big body.
Is Clay Young better than Mitch Lightfoot?
My column:
@BeddieKU23 Yeak UK's roster is stupid even with Vanderbilt out with injury. Knox, Gabriel, Washington are all going to have to be 3/4 due to their lack of guard depth.

Garrett by the way played 30 minutes in the game. The most by any hawk.
Is that coincidence because Graham was limited to getting some rest already? I don't know but any freshman who seems to have earned that much trust from his coach already is going to do good things here. He's a fan favorite of mine already and wearing the number of a legend
You can tell Graham really wasn't looking to score last night.
This has to be one of the best performances for a player at KU under Self while never making a shot from the floor. Hell he technically only attempted 2.

But the incredible fortune if you're Mitch Lightfoot. No additional post recruit, and Coleby, Maxwell, and Whitman depart. Unbelievable good luck.
Next year is going to be reallllly interesting. I think he should redshirt barring rapid improvement. He at best will be the 4th big (I suspect 5th) and I know you are not a fan but Dedric is going to get heavy minutes.

Loved Vick last night. Great energy and effort.
Marcus Garrett is the glue to this team already. Makes the pass, rebounds, defends, no ego from him
Preston looked good. The fouls were stupid. The potential is evident with him on the floor.
If Vick can bring it like that every game he might play himself into being drafted.
Preston might be the biggest tease all year. I really hope we get to a point where he can stay on the floor.
Of course, UK fans think they are getting everyone until they don't. I literally saw an IF Bol ends up at Oregon article on one of their sites recently. If? Okay sure...
BeddieKU23 said:
It's great to have him back on the floor and his conditioning will improve the more he gets to play.
For anyone wondering this is why he was on the floor late in the exhibition. He needs as much PT as possible.
Also, bless ya @jayballer54 it's hard to take any positives away from Mitch's performance last night. He needs to get a lot better.
HawkChamp said:
The main thing for Dok is not to go one on three or four. He has to pass it out quicker when he gets swarmed. Now, real teams like Kentucky probably aren't going to swarm him and will start out one on one so he will have opportunities to make some moves, but he has to be ready to look for the open man.
Yeah, he really needs to add that. He missed passing back out to wide open guys a few times.
All fiction no malice right @HighEliteMajor ?

I read an article that said shooting would not be a weakness for them. Power puff piece if I've ever seen one. Apparently one game where Shai and Green shoot okay was enough to remove the doubt. Baker wasn't going to play big minutes but he figured to play 10-12 minutes a game as a spot up shooter which in the flow of the game would have meant 1-2 3's possibly which is significant to their offense.
Yeah, lol, ok.
Where can I find the companion piece about how KU has great post depth?

Why did Billy's only play 8 min (for those of us with no TWC )?
Fouled a bit and got injured.
Per Bill Self.
KU has 5 really good guards.
I fully endorse this. It was really fun. Easier chat flow since it's a chat room and not a forum.
Remember the name. Self won't be able to keep him off the floor.

Sounds like Newman is having a solid night.
He's stupid good.
HawkChamp said:
Billy looked ok
Ya. Looked happy.
Newman did the thing tonight. 19 points in low 20s minutes.
I was hoping Doke would pass back out to Teahan when he was wide open. I need a Teahan swish tonight.
CLAY YOUNG DID A THING

Billy back on sidelines
Prayers up
Vick has some moves.
Doke will need to work on getting in great shape. He is gassed.
So at least we start out each half strong.

You guys want to give Slack another shot? Seems to be working now, have a critical mass of people on there now

Love the things we can do on Slack!
Doke got too excited. Don't dribble it Doke.

The entire season hinges on Preston being okay and that looked ugly
Hope he is okay.
HawkChamp said:
Concussion for Billy?
Maybe. Doubt he comes back in either way.
HawkChamp said:
That is the type of stupid play im talking about by Billy. Not smart at all
Yep...he has a lot of that in his system. Would take a miracle from Self to coach it out in one season.
Dat flop tho
HawkChamp said:
@BShark Mitch is ok playing the four. Cant have him as the only big. Dok and Billy have to play smarter and not foul. Its just that simple.
