Self just heaping praise on Vick.
@approxinfinity Bahahahaha
Gotta let Bechard defend his crown right?
CHALMERS SIGHTING
Rumour mill saying Dotson will commit to MD shortly.
I need to make a foundation so I can give KU titles for 97, 03, 10 and 11.
ESPN3
Not a valid source.
NC #4*
Like I said earlier, I'll just skip that part since I'm watching online. Hopefully KU will do better next year.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Some kid with a blog. I understand the apprehension but his word is no more relevant than that of Zion's family and they deny it of course.
For anyone that doesn't recognize the kids.
King Zion is on the left. On the right is RJ Hampton. Stud PG out of Texas in 2020 class but is old enough to where he could reclass for 2019. Hampton is a special player for sure.

@BShark I listened to that too. Really solid podcast. 2019 should be a low volume recruiting year. Get JRE, Lawson, and Harvey to go along with Jacobs and call it good. Not sure we have a shot with many top guys in 19.
Agree. That's a great class especially if the staff closes 18 as we are hoping.
Malik Hall is a really appealing player if needed but might not be room. Similar position as JRE and Chandler.
If he is willing to likely redshirt (barring rapid development) I feel that Samuell Williamson would be a solid legacy take and 4-5 year guy.
Jesse Newell had a podcast with Matt Scott. Pretty good.
Sounds like Harvey is legitimately interested in hearing from other schools. Reading between the lines, it sounds like JRE will be a Jayhawk for sure. Lines up with other things I have read and/or heard.

Hahahaha... who the h#ll is "Chat Sports?" This is total bull.
A blog ran by a USC grad and Duke fan.

@Texas-Hawk-10 and Langford isn't a risk?
Langford did legit just LOVE Louisville. Grew up a huge fan. Went to their games, including football. He was their BMac if BMac had lived in like, Topeka. Point being, good chance he wasn't paid.

Man. Lil Yachty might just S-U-C-K more than Rick Pitino. Seriously couldn't we find someone with talent?
The kids are excited about it. That's what matters right? Glad I'll be watching on TV so I can just tune that part out that's for sure.
Could happen. Just posting what I've read about Grimes. I think KU would be his choice if he had to pick today. UK is more in it than the crystal ball suggests, that's for sure.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Don't think there is any chance in hell Dotson ends up in Florida now. - With the two looking like committing there -- umm no. - I've been riding this from day one - -Devon is my boy , you still got time to climb on. - When this is all said and done Devon WILL be here in a KU uniform next year. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
KU or Maryland.
@jayballer54 UK is right in this, I'm telling you. Grimes is very interested in UK. KU could very well still be his choice but I have read this from reliable, non-UK people.

@BShark well it seemed fine to OSU. Things could change. A lot more scholarships to fill.. I think we are due for new names to start popping up.
Dotson and Grimes deciding early would be good either way. Obviously better if they pick KU.
Maryland would still take Dotson but it looks like they want to also take Ayala. Ayala obviously isn't going to Miami now and it looks like he is getting squeezed out of his Cuse offer by Carey. Ayala is def a PG and Maryland will still have Cowan as well. I think it's fairly easy to sell Dotson on the starting PG spot but of course I have seen Maryland fans pointing to our roster having Moore + Garrett and Grimes being a likely addition.
Could be KU only gets one of Grimes and Dotson which would be totally fine.
@approxinfinity Unlikely. He listed KU but KU hadn't even been out to see him yet.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Florida is about to get commitments from Simons, Nembhard and maybe Locke too.
Someone just posted that Dotson will pop for Maryland by Wednesday so who really knows?

Dotson and Langford and/or Grimes? would be very nice!
I think Dotson + Grimes is most likely. Would be killer.
UK is very much in this recruitment, don't underestimate them.
And I'm telling you Marquette and Texas are long shots. It's KU or UK in all likelihood.
2018:
Zion Williamson
David McCormack
2019:
Zach Harvey
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl
James Wiseman
Malik Hall
Samuell Williamson
Chandler Lawson
2020:
N'faly Dante
Bryce Thompson
Jalen Suggs
R.J. Hampton
Ty Berry
Xavier Foster
KT Raimey
2021:
Johnathan Lawson
@KUSTEVE That's further than I got...
So it would be KU vs MD essentially. Gotta hope and think KU can win out there... Esp since MD has a better PG than Moore on the roster.
@dylans Florida will be out provided two players expected to commit to Florida do so.
@jayballer54 Some great news regarding your boy Dotson posted on 247...

For anyone wondering about Lil Yachty. Seems like a great move for the target audience (the recruits) based on twitter posts.
Who is Lil Yatchy? I guess it reveals my age and taste in music (???).
Don't feel too bad. I had to google his name when KU made the announcement, lol.
@Kcmatt7 Yeah, seems touchy when there will be young kids in the audience.
So, for his twitter pic he uses a graphic made my Matt Scott. Can't be a bad sign I'd say.

@justanotherfan Stormchaser's average 5k per game. And that is tickets sold. Royals average 27k.
Charlotte Hornets average 17k. UNC averages 18k.
A minor league system isn't profitable. In fact, it is a black hole that the NCAA has turned into a billion dollar industry. You can't replace the tradition, nostalgia or camaraderie college sports has. It is watched at an emotional level a minor league system couldn't develop for hundreds of years IF that.
Could not agree more...
@justanotherfan No doubt there are lots of tshirt fans. These are entrenched brands as well though. We will see.
Also how FUDGING INSANE is that if true?
@Kcmatt7 Player 2 is actually Bowen according to MSU people. That relieves me.
Sounds like a business decision type deal for Grimes. Sure hope it will be KU.

"So I was fortunate enough to be able to discuss this topic with two very interesting sources yesterday. One was a former Conference Commissioner, the other was a former AD (both at the P5 level). They are very plugged in to this situation. I asked them point blank how worried KU should be- and they both didn't think we have anything to worry about. They told me that the rules are basically set up to benefit a very select few schools (with KU being one) where they can LEGALLY, and without violating any NCAA rules, 'hook a kid up'. It's all a little above my head, but it has to do with AAU tournaments, summer camps, job funneling (helping out a parent/guardian with a job), legal support/financial advisors, and other various things that seem to be dirty (to me) but are all above ground. They basically told me that we don't have to cheat because the rules are set up to favor us. They figured that Duke and UNC would be fine in all of this as well.. "
People care about their alma mater. People don't care about watching the same players in a minor league system. Jmo.
Kcmatt7 said:
@JayHawkFanToo People saying that remind me of the same people who said they though Bragg would be able to play some at the 3 spot before we ever saw him actually play.
Garrett was the best player on the court 99% of the time. Why not just put the ball in his hands to start? It is similar to a lot of high schools or even colleges just putting their best athlete at QB.
Since we are talking about it again, I will reiterate my opinion. I don't think he ever starts at PG at KU. I think he is a plus level ball handler at the 2, and an elite ball handler at the 3. He is quite possibly tough enough to bang in the paint this year as KU has no depth inside.
Agree w/ you on Bragg. The same people that thought Marcus or Perry would play the 3. Lateral quickness matters. Defense matters. Now I do absolutely think Garrett is a guy you can ask to defend an opposing point. He is long and disruptive. Quick. He will also rebound well for his position.
Just as staunchly one of my friends believes Garrett is a better PG option than Moore.
Like you say @JayHawkFanToo we will find out what Self does when the games come around.
Self already loves Garrett. I'd bet on him being the 5th "small" this year.
@Kcmatt7 Dude just had to get his shots in about Jackson and Cliff.
Btw even MSU fans think this guy is a bit nuts. Player 1 is Jabari Parker who Izzo still talks glowingly about.
Edit: Lol, this is a quote from an MSU person...
"f that guy is supposed to represent MSU as a writer it's completely embarrassing. It's fanboy fantasy combined with poor writing."
Not hard to figure out who player 2 allegedly is.
@Kcmatt7 Did you reply then delete it?
