Jalen Carey tentatively coming for Late Night. I don't think he'll make it with his other visits lined up really early compared to this one.
If Dotson and Grimes commit by then (fingers crossed) he certainly wouldn't bother.

Unless Cunliffe is better then we saw in Italy we can count him as a practice body. Still a lot of time for the kid to prove himself here but in HS he bounced from school to school and has done the same in College. Would not shock me to see him do the same after seeing what Self brings in on the perimeter
He will have to improve a lot. How he played in Italy backed up what I thought based on limited exposure of watching ASU games as well as what ASU fans were saying. He just...isn't a basketball player YET. Might never be. Time will tell.

any reports out there about his overseas possibility? What is his godfather up to?
Obviously this is a decision that he either has to stick with KU for 1,2 years at most or takes a route that will be challenging but not impossible to come back and be highly drafted next summer? Big decision to make. A lot of risk involved..
Some LSU guy saying he will commit to LSU soon.
Based on what statmachine said, seems like he did get that line from Self. I just hope either way it's decided and announced today.
Scuttlebutt is Bagley to USC.
I vote yes.

@jayballer54 well hold on, remember back when we were recruiting DeAndre Daniels out of IMG Academy and offered his lesser known teammate Jamari Traylor? We know how that worked out for Jamari.
I believe Christian Garrett was taken as a walk-on to help get Daniels.
Googled and yes: http://www2.kusports.com/news/2015/mar/01/man-faith-basketball-bible-study-highlight-senior-/ ↗
It was hoped KU would also land Garrett’s best friend, IMG Academy’s DeAndre Daniels, who ultimately decided to attend UConn and now plays overseas.
Self says the bottom line is he has thoroughly enjoyed working with Garrett, who also was an IMG teammate of KU junior Jamari Traylor.
“Christian has been great for our team, great for our program,” Self said. “He’s been a great ambassador and representative of what we’re trying to do. He is our spiritual leader, without question. Although I haven’t been to one of his services, I’ve listened to him many times within the confines of our team.”
I would bet on Dedric playing 30+ minutes next year unless he messes it up with off the court crap. If KU gets Williams I will be happy, pleasantly surprised.
I mean not starting, and he definitely would not start. Dedric will start next year.
Not for lack of trying from KU. Good chance he doesn't leave the state. I also don't think he wants to go anywhere to sit on the bench which he would be doing at KU.

@HighEliteMajor If that is true, why did he start Doke ahead of Landen last year?
That post was mostly about Diallo, I think. That situation was ridiculous. Diallo should have played.
@jayballer54 Okie Lite hired on an assistant with big time AAU ins. Same reason they lead for McCormack.
At the end of the day I don't think Williams is a Jayhawk.
@jayballer54 He was never technically admitted at WKU according to the rumour mill. If that's true, all that has to happen is their president (formerly at a high level position at KU cough cough) denies his admission and nothing else matters at all, Robinson would be eligible immediately.
Does anyone trip anyone in Star Wars? If so, we know who Grayson is.
Probably all the losses to Alabama taking their toll.
LSU fans are bitter.
Depends on your definition. I think right now he is rack up stats on a bad team guy.
@KirkIsMyHinrich Where does K fit in?
I like Lightfoot and he is a good program player but adding a 7 foot athletic freak would cut into his playing time drastically.
Kcmatt7 said:
@BShark We can only hope. Lightfoot looked rough in Italy.
Eye for an eye, Mitch for a Mitch.
@jayballer54 Well UNC got some early commits and Duke has some heavy leans like Tre Jones.
@jayballer54 Dotson is actually from Chicago originally. :)
Lol UK fans. Because world wide Wes never did anything for Cal. Loooool I'm dying here.
@Statmachine It fixes the one glaring weakness this roster had.... It's pretty much perfect.
@Statmachine Looks like there is info floating out there that he was never fully processed at WKU. If WKU then denied his application it would be like he never went to WKU at all and he would be immediately eligible at KU. Probably helps that the WKU president is Tim Caboni who worked at KU for awhile before going back home to his alma mater when the previous president retired.
Looooookin like Mitchell Robinson is gonna suit up in crimson and blue this year.
@HawkChamp Agree. Also R.I.P. Mitch Lightfoot's minutes if he is eligible this year.
Oh and he is retweeting a lot of KU stuff, many recent follows are KU people, Matt Scott out there making Mitchell Robinson highlight videos, LSU "removing" themselves from his recruitment. The kid himself making a comment about how he let people decide for him too much in the past and that this would be HIS decision this time around. The math sure checks out to me.

Yeah I linked in the other thread.
My last post in this thread was just pointing out the hilarity. My guess is they saw the writing on the wall and "removed" themselves from contention.
@jayballer54 All over the internet. But particularly this: 🐦 View Tweet
No longer interested. Right. Lol.
GAHT DAMMMMMM boys and girls.
Statmachine said:
@Crimsonorblue22 I have good info. He might miss a few games waiting on the NCAA but like Cheick, he will play.
So KU's front court looks like it could be going from the thinnest of the Self era to absolutely bonkers with two 7' studs. That's something.

LSU looking pretty likely. :/
Look at this dumbass.

BPI, the preseason version especially, weighs returning players very heavily. KU lost Mason, Jackson, and Lucas from its main rotation last year. Azuibuke didn't play enough to be weighted the way he should be for his likely impact. Newman didn't play well enough at Miss. St. to weigh properly, either. As a result, BPI doesn't see Newman and Azuibuke as replacements for Mason and Lucas, instead seeing them as inadequate fill ins.
That's also why UK and UNC are so low.
Once the games start, the teams with top incoming talent will rise as the result bare out the talent.
It literally doesn't count Newman at all according to the article.
LSU looking pretty likely. :/
You forgot Grimes.
Bill knows how to showcase players like Zion. Zion knows this.
I mean it literally says it's not factoring in Malik Newman. You know, one of the best two players on the team. LOL.
If y'all haven't, watch Mitchell Robinson highlights. He's worth the risks imo.
@BeddieKU23 Dotson could even announce beforehand and take the visit just for fun.
And yeah, Williams would be a great get.
Is now fully available on youtube sans the first game that no one really cares about. The Purdue and NC State games weren't up until this year. Really a great run, gets better with age.
2018 PG Devon Dotson is scheduled to officially visit the University of Kansas later this month. The #20 ranked player in the 247Sports 2018 rankings will begin his visit to Kansas on August 25th-27th.
Dotson is fresh off of his impressive performance at the SC30 Select game in San Francisco on Tuesday night, putting on a show at Under Armour All-America Camp, putting on another show with fellow KU recruit Zion Williamson in Las Vegas and being one of the top players on the UAA circuit the entire spring and summer.
Kansas Assistant Coach Norm Roberts and Head Coach Bill Self lead the way in the recruitment of Dotson to Kansas.
Dotson is also considering Florida, Maryland, Miami and more.
“I think Kansas makes sense,” he said, “from the perspective of his relationship with [5-star point guard] Devon Dotson, who may wind up [committing to Kansas] fairly soon, his strong connection to Adidas [Williamson plays on that shoe-company’s AAU circuit] and Kansas’ ability to showcase players like him, as they did with Josh Jackson [No. 4 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft]. He also has a strong relationship with Bill Self.”
@RockkChalkk Looks like Moore could be a back-up. Slater mentioned that when asked KU's main guard targets said they were not afraid of Moore. And rightfully so.
It's the two Duke guys following Slater's lead. It isn't meaningless but they are acting on known info.
Oh and if you are a good guard but need to work on your jump shot, you should pick Kansas. There is little doubt. See: Frank Mason, Wayne Selden, Travis Releford. There were better shooters to play under Self, but those three needed major help and got it. Mason was UNREAL last year.
@BeddieKU23 RE Garrett: he has great measurables and is a hard worker. I bet he rebounds fairly well if he gets solid minutes.
Svi has trex arms.
That's fair. Could be the staff passes on him after having him in for a visit. We will see...
I say get Mitchell Robinson if we can, that would be perfect aside from the personal issues he has.
@BeddieKU23 Solid consolidation of information. :thumbsup_tone1:
