There are dogs with fleas, and then there is THIS game.
I will admit I haven't seen much of him. Assumed he is good because Calimari wants him.
Vanderbilt cut KU. Not a surprise, but now 100% confirmed he won't be a Hawk next year.
Long believed UNC lean. Maybe we pry him away if Self chooses to really pick that battle. Also these days I never count out Arizona...their staff works hard and has the team USA connections.
I like some of those quotes from the kid. Would be a great get.
Technically, this was officially a home game. I am not joking. I think it's stupid. Right now the "home" winning streak is 49 games (not all Sprint games count because lol!) but the actual streak is 46.
Agree, they are truly horrid. I saw parts of the Duke game and um...yikes. I dare say KU could win with a D+ type effort (hopefully the team plays better than that) UNLV has the 2nd worst kenpom rank of a KU opponent to date, only UMKC is ranked worse there.

Our 3 point shooting wasn't there and we still scored 89. We are an offensive juggernaut.
This was a takeaway for me as well. This offense is damn good. It shows why many have opined for a 4 guard line-up.

Yeah the defense in the first half was all over the place. That can happen a lot in games, we led up a bit after getting a double digit lead. I put most of that on foul trouble. Jackson got dumb fouls, Graham did the same & Doke got a quick 2 when he was making an impact on offense with his size. We were forced to go to alternative lineups that don't have the same chemistry right now. And anytime KU is forced to play any significant amount of minutes without do-it-all Josh Jackson we see what can happen on both sides of the ball. The more games that go by the more apparent it becomes that Josh Jackson has to get 30 minutes a night.
I also agree about the offense. We got what wanted besides not making 3's in the first half. It's essential we don't have too many of those games but its good to know that if the outside shot struggles we can still punish defenses in other ways. I was happy overall with how we responded to adversity for the first time in a while. This team will see plenty of it going forward.
I was going to post something similar to this before I read the post. The defense is very dependent on having our most athletic players out there and the chemistry of the Mason/Graham/Josh trio can not be denied. Frank and Graham have played together for three years now, and Josh is just a savant.

Lol, yeah talked to my sis in Topeka and she's complaining about the cold, icy streets. I worked the range today and told her I had to take a shower when I got home as I was sweaty and sticky. Been tryin' to get her to move down here but she won't. No sorry feelin' here.
Can confirm! Also lots of snow on the ground last I looked.
When I was driving Friday I saw an elderly black man slip and fall. Immediately stopped and made sure he was okay. Nothing broken at least and he was able to dust it off and walk on. It was scary to see though.
Okay nice thread and fun 2nd half I'm gonna go take it easy.
Yeah for a two day stretch I couldn't do anything basically.
I think I mentioned it in passing in a thread or two but didn't draw huge attention to it. :+1:
Also to anyone that was concerned and wished me well, I'm doing much better physically! This cold is almost gone. Should be totally gone tomorrow or Monday but I was fully functional today. Thanks to any and all that prayed.
I'm howling

that okie st coach is a darn good coach. i think they'll be the surprise team in the big 12.
KSU was insane for not firing Bruce and hiring him.

Was Vick really going to transfer?
Idk, weird narrative. I never read even the slightest whisper about it after last year and usually there is some smoke if the player is considering it...
I'm tempted to backread the first half of the game thread on the Phog. Someone talk me out of it....
Graham just punctuated the game perfectly.

OKIE ST IS BEATING THE CRAP OUT OF THE SHLOCKERS...
YEAH THAT SCORELINE IS TASTY. LOSE ANGURI
+1 It made Davidson wilt
Also three point shooting is normalizing whoda thunk it
DEFENSE KU DEFENSE
Let's talk about the effort from CARLTON BRAGG. I like it....

I know. Still feels baaaad. lol
Quoting myself....
But to expand here, KU had a horrible stretch of play but a normal game from Davidson means 9-12 less points. Probably good for this team though, they could use a challenge.
I know. Still feels baaaad. lol
Davidson was shooting 31% from three coming into this game. Lol
Just gonna leave their shooters wide open okay
Junk call on Svi
Aggressive start, drawing fouls. I like it.
@BeddieKU23 said:
yupp he took himself out of the half and we suffered because of it
Our clear cut best player so this does make sense.
@DoubleDD said:
Anybody notice that after a made Davidson basket if they can they will bump into the ball. Bouncing it back up the court.
Or am I just seeing things?
Shortening the game.
@BeddieKU23 said:
junk half. foul trouble, missed 3's not having your most athletic guys on the court allowed a school that relies on finesse and jump shooting to have a lead
Need more Josh
That was not smart from Frank
Ohhhhh Landen
@BeddieKU23 said:
Mason has missed a whole bunch of shots he's made this year and the 3 point shooting has been terrible.. if 3's go in and we guard the screen and big play we will be fine
Concur.
@BeddieKU23 said:
this is the game KU needs. a blowout does nothing for them
Gotta get em grounded again after all those easy wins.
Can't make threes tonight.
ESPN NEWS
Svi starting over Vick tonight.
Baylor 33 the mighty Tigers of JACKSON STATE 30. Nearing half.
A TRob for this team.

@BShark Probably right. But not so out of it Bill didn't think it was a waste of time to trip to Indiana and watch him last night...
Sometimes Bill gets Wiggins/Jackson. But in those cases, we really hear that KU is in it, at least from a few people and in the case of Josh KU was the runaway favourite until his recruitment really ramped up. I don't get that same vibe with Romeo.
@BeddieKU23 said:
The problem is Billy thinks he's a OAD.
Bagley may not play College Ball either..
Nailed it. I fully believe if Ayton didn't leave KU high and dry Preston is committed somewhere else.
@jayballer54 said:
@BShark you noticed that too huh? - - Noticed on a couple of occasions he kind of was lax getting up and down the floor, little lax on the D, - -then towards the end trying to guard Bagley - -not so good, BUT BAGLEY going to make a lot of guys look not so good - -like the announcer said almost can't guard him one on one the kid is an animal. But still happy we got Preston - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
Bagley is an NBA allstar barring injury IMO. And yeah, that's been the book on Preston and well it is easy to see why even if it is just one game since it lines up with reports.
