@justanotherfan Yeah. If CB is back I'd bet big money on him averaging over 16 a game. I just hesitate to put too much trust or expectations of numbers for newcomers because Self over and over again favors the guys he knows and trusts. I'd argue Yes is more likely to get 7 or 8 a game than a transfer scoring 16+ just because Self knows him and was able to see what he was capable of this year and if he makes improvement, he WILL reward him for that with PT and freedom on the court. I also think Harris could slowly develop into more of a 7-10 point a game type guy.

Yeah I'm not overly fussed about things if everyone that might come back does so. Knowing Bill's system is a huge plus and our player improvement is A+.

To my knowledge no transfer has a committable offer to KU right now. The staff’s dream is everyone comes back. If Braun stays in then they’ll move. But, for example, if Tyrese Hunter wanted to commit tomorrow we don’t have a spot. If we’re able to add spots later then that will change but as of now, nobody can commit to KU.

A dangerous game.

@KUSTEVE It's hard for me to judge the Miz game because they are awful. Nova played a great game and still lost by 16.

Baylor game was a fairly close second though. We WHACKED THEM, the team that finished just one slot below us on KP lol. We should have swept them, but I digress...

2022 Transfer Portal Thread • May 07, 2022 10:29 AM

@kuballin10 If we get Mosley probably a 1-2 seed. FR would need to come along if we don't get two experienced wings but the talent is there. If we don't get Mosley...really depends but I could see a 4 seed type year possibly.

@drgnslayr You might be an asshole. But there is an adjective in front of that word that really expresses how I feel about someone who is so.... enlightened.

Sure I miss a good debate about whether or not Diallo or LL should be starting. Or if Bill Self is ever going to win another Natty (newsflash he did). I don't know that it makes up for having to interact with someone who is so outspoken about things that would seem extreme on a 4chan chat room.

So. Yep.

He definitely had some useful basketball insights, which does make it a bit of a shame he completely descended into madness.

Funny he got brought up though, because I was reminded of him the other day when I mistakenly got engaged in some abortion discourse. The other guy used the term "uterus owner". If I hadn't already known they were a major asshole, that would have been a major mask off moment. I could see HEM using that term as well.

Thoroughly enjoyed the trip down Hemory lane. He really went out lashing out.

He's really slow and methodical. We need some quickness.

Mosley isn't exactly quick but whewwwww he is a bucket.

KU/Big 12 NBA draft decisions thread • May 04, 2022 10:55 PM

My wishlist in order is Mosley, Hunter, Council, McCullar in terms of who we are known to have reached out to and are in solid standing with.

From what has been shared recently it really seems like we will only have one spot to fill. I won't go into details since it's in premium but Bossi was very clear on 247 premium about it.

KU/Big 12 NBA draft decisions thread • May 04, 2022 10:52 PM

@PharmacyHawk said in KU/Big 12 NBA draft decisions thread:

@BShark I know it's a pipedream, but I'm hoping to have Hunter fill the 2 spot. I know he is also a smaller guard, but he was a great defender last year and was a huge part of ISU making it as far in the tourney as they did. Bill has shown he loves having two primary ball handlers on the floor at the same time, but I'm not sure how Hunter feels about sharing PG duties with Juan. From what little I've heard, Tyrese wasn't sold on the idea of playing with Juan, but I don't really know.

If that doesn't work out, then maybe Malachi Smith? Terrific rebounder and a go to bucket getter. I haven't seen him announce any kind of list of interested parties, but I'd be very surprised if we haven't reached out already. This of course would mean someone has to be shown the door unfortunately, but Mosley + Hunter/Smith would be at the top of my wishlist.

Agree! I haven't seen that we have reached out to Smith, but he is a great player.

KU/Big 12 NBA draft decisions thread • May 04, 2022 09:08 PM

@FarmerJayhawk Yeah the FF with him in his proper role of super sub utility wing man. Clearly we were robbed in 2020, so my comment is a bit unfair.

McCullar is at the bottom of my list, of everyone KU has been linked with. Bill would get the best out of Council, who is already showing signs of being a great defender.

I just can't see adding McCullar to have both FR come off the bench.

I think this is mostly moot anyway, if we just slot Mosley into CB's spot that's PROBABLY a wrap. Though I think it would work out better for both sides if we added another big guard and Joe found another MVC school. This assumes we strike out on Hunter, who is my top preference after Mosley.

But then you'd be looking at...

Juan

Transfer

Mosley

Wilson

Zach

With Bob, Gradey, MJ, bench big of your choosing as the rotation. I could see Bill tinkering a lot early on as we have a lot of 5s and all offer different things.

@BShark But it's not COMPLETELY out of the realm of possibility, correct? Like Christian's mom is clearly trying to get Mosely to Kansas. I know she loves Harris too but could there be more motive than that?

@drgnslayr I have mocked this already but Zach is starting. I also see at most one of the FR wings starting. Bill would never start 3 FR.

@justanotherfan said in 2022 Transfer Portal Thread:

I miscounted Cam, so we do only have one transfer spot. That makes things really tough, because I'm not sure Clemence works without another big with him, and I am not sure Ejifor or Udeh are day one starters. Maybe I'm wrong about that, or Wilson helps offset a potential lack of rebounding. A guard transfer would be nice, but only if its someone that can be a star, like Mosley. We don't need depth in the backcourt. We could use some depth in the frontcourt, though.

Rebounding is something I'm not worried about with Zach based on what he showed this year. I think him plus Jalen would be a great rebounding front court tbh.

I am more worried about our two guard spot, but think it will be addressed in the portal.

2022 Transfer Portal Thread • May 03, 2022 08:24 PM

@justanotherfan We have not targeted a single big in the portal fwiw. I'd lean towards Zach starting, based on the word around the program.

I'd like to get a starter in the portal if CB does leave. Go with something like: Juan, Transfer, Rice or Gradey, JWill, Zach.

Where we might differ is I don't think Yesufu is a real factor at all. He was only played this year as a last resort. So I'd like to get, say, Mosley in your list with the guard rotation.

Also if I'm not mistaken we only have one scholarship to give if only CB leaves. Mitch didn't count this year so we were one over.
