Mentioned this on 247 recently but Tonto was my favorite. Got douchey with me when we first offered about how Sam wasn't good enough (due to other offers) then also blew up slamming Self when the situation with his mom went down.
Fun story for those that may not know, plus it's been awhile.
KU had been recruiting Sam Williamson for awhile. When he was basically unranked and his other offers were Incarnate Word, Abilene Christian etc because he was a KU legacy. At the time this story happened, Sam was a 4* recruit, top 40 range and CB was #182 (lol). CB pops up on KU's radar in late August (KSU thought they had a real shot at him in mid August). They bring him in for an unofficial visit on August 30th (the day before Sam's visit) and Bill loves what he sees, offers on the spot. Sam comes in the next day with his parents and his mom is not happy about the offer to another kid at the same position. Bill asks for a commitment from Sam or KU is moving on because they had a kid they really like ready to commit (CB).

NIL is market correction to what was happening which was College Bball getting gutted by guys leaving early when they had no chance to stick in the league. Imagine how many fringe talented kids left that would have stayed now with legit NIL opportunities. @Kcmatt7 Yeah all the big boys are going to be paying better than Europe/GLeague. If you don't mind kinda going to class-ish (that is a deal breaker for some guys of course) then it's a no brainer.
16 was cooooooooooold. I think that squad gets overlooked because of how it ended. They got jobbed in the EE in a FF caliber game against the eventual national champ. 5th best shooting % from the floor and 4th best from 3 in the NATION. Oh and a top 3 defense too.
I'm a huge Bob fan, think he plays. I'd still like a good third small guard if we can swing it.
@benshawks08 Very sure. There is no scoring punch in those 3 (Joe scored off very high volume in a stretch where Drake had no one else). Could see Joe leaving after we bring in another small guard.

We'll see some spots open up for transfers as there's 2 very likely candidates going. Lot's of fits and needs out there. Two in particular seem to have interest in KU unofficially.
KU did well getting its best recruiting class in several years with so many upperclassmen. The 2 guard/wings can play right away. The two bigs will play but will be developed and used as needed.

Yeah if I were betting right now I would say two. Remy and Mitch have of course exhausted their eligibility. Dave and Och are going. They would be great again at KU but it's time to move on. That's 4/7 gone already.
NIL could make college basketball much better again.

NIL is huge. Jalen will make more next year at KU than he would in the GLeague.

JWill is close to a non-athlete at this level. For a normal person he is pretty athletic of course. It's the main thing that prevented him from being drafted.

Not yet. I know they are doing the barnstorming thing but I would think there will be some announcements before then.

I assume you are asking about Davis? Seems possible. Given the first transfer player KU has been linked with publicly was another small scoring guard, a Remy replacement seems to be desired by the staff.

Personally, I've always felt that Dave is a better NBA prospect than Doke. Defensively, they were about equal. However, Dave has more offensive skills and they've been there from the very start. Yea Doke setting combine vertical records really put that in perspective. It has made it hard to evaluate post players because you don't realize how imposing he actually was.
