Agbaji with the tapped wrist still. Will have to play better then just the last 5 minutes today
Jabari Smith on KU. we'd be undefeated
Good thing the games at home
They definitely miss him. They have looked no good this half against the giants in the lane
Hard to win when you foul guys shooting 3s. 3rd time in the 2nd half
Good to see the SEC officials are just as bad
Looks like the badgers supporting cast was MIA last night? Didn't see the game but 2 20 pt scorers and not much else help.
Anything is possible I suppose especially if the redshirt D2 guy doesn't return which i dont expect. Given what the staff has thrown out for offers lately it's been mostly around another guard. Never a dull moment in roster management these days
He will probably bail before the fire too
Damn.. feel for Bill
Both bigs Self has signed are a bit "raw" but what they may lack in finished skill they make up by being grown ass men. Same for Rice, that guy is coming to college physically prepared like KJ did this season.
The biggest concerns I see on paper are shooting and inexperience. I'm scared a bit but also pretty excited about seeing some of these young guys have real roles unlike this year where's it's basically last years team a year older plus Remy, when he plays

Self may recruit a Big from portal.
Why do you think that?
Ha was coming to post about Penny. So sad his bought and paid for 5 star OAD's aren't the answer.
Gonzaga and Arizona dominated on the west coast. UCLA survived

For my sanity Dave moving on is fine. I'm just saying at this point could it really be ruled out? I just don't see a basketball career for him after this. Another year here to perhaps make that a reality has worked for others.
I included J Will simply because at this point we don't know. He was told he wasn't close to NBA ready if ever at all so maybe he focuses on proving them wrong playing here. He'd certainly see his role increase even more next year with Och moving on.
I had Bobby there and I certainly think he could start next season but its difficult to start two guys that haven't shown the kind of offensive skill you need in the backcourt. Gradey developing into a scorer this year makes me think he has a legitimate shot at starting.
Yea, that backcourt isn’t gonna cut it unless Bobby turns into Frank by next season, or if everybody else turns into Rush, WiggIns and Joel. That’d be nice. We need some scoring and shooting from the guards for sure.
I don’t know much about next year’s guys yet. I did see Grady play a few games. He honestly didn’t do much, but that was a while back and a small sample size.
So what does everybody think about Dave? Would you take him back or boot him?
I think its highly unlikely given the recruiting efforts put into the frontcourt the past two cycles. But the covid year does make it possible I guess. I have my own thoughts regarding Dave but perhaps the staff would recruit him back if they felt the need. Self has kept Mitch around 6 years so I don't think he'd ever run out a starter that wanted to be here. However I think they made some promises to recruits and young bigs on the roster already that would make it difficult to make everyone happy.
I fully believe in Bobby for the future. He's yet to hit a shot outside the paint this season so its certainly a valid concern right now whether we can have Harris/Bobby out there a majority of minutes. I love the 2 guard lineup for spacing/ball handling/play-making but I would hate to see us put out a lineup that cannot score easily.
247 updated their rankings. Duke with 4 of the Top 10.
Gradey at 22, Rice #28, Udeh #29, Zuby #41.
Composite now has Gradey #24 (5 star), Rice #25 (5-star), Udeh #29, Zuby #47
Some recent guys that KU was looking at hit the Top 100- Desmond Claude (PG) #88, Judah Mintz (CG) #73, Amaree Abram (PG) #64
Have to limit their guards they have experience there. Their front court is garbage
Kentucky game! Will be a fun atmosphere
At least in these too-close for comfort games lately Agbaji has shown he wants the ball in his hands in crunch time. I rewatched the last 5 minutes and it was like a switch went off in his head and he became an Assassin. They don't beat OU without him getting back into the groove.
I agree this is a soft team but we can only hope games like that and others we'll have coming up will do all the toughening for the tournament. At least I'm going to believe that's possible until its not!
I'm really excited for this Super Bowl show.
Good point about Dave & his masters. I wonder if he'll have that degree by the end of this year?
I'm expecting the staff to recruit CB, J-Will back especially with NIL. They are crucial pieces next season.

@BShark This is how I see it too. I'm hoping Udeh is able to play a significant role by the end of the season. 7'2 wingspan would really be a game changer in the post.
Not just the wingspan but he does look like a more functional athlete for his size. Of course that's just highlights etc so we don't know exactly how well he moves, jumps etc but he looks a lot closer to Doke then Dave
Saw Sydney Curry had 13 & 7 in a win for Louisville after a 22 & 10 performance in their previous game against NC St. Getting an uptick in minutes lately and producing
Marquette surprises me they are so young. Perhaps Shaka just does a better job at a smaller school
So much uncertainty and young. For now this is what I see. I think it will change a lot between now and next fall
Juan, CB, Gradey, Wilson, Zach.
Bobby, KJ, Rice, Zuby, Udeh
I agree the 5 spot is a major mystery. Zach/KJ obviously if Self sticks with the 4/1 lineup. Then you have the young freshman coming Zuby/Udeh that have the muscle/size/athleticism Self wants manning the paint but will obviously be works in progress to play the Self way. It's been a long time since we had this uncertainty about who's the guy in the post given we just went through a long stretch of Lucas/Doke/Dave.
I guess its possible Dave could come back another year given the covid year. His draft prospects are about as low as you'll see on a guy his size and production at a big school like KU.
Well my son got Covid. Sunday he started showing some symptoms(vomit, fever) however it went away as the day went on. Monday though we just had that feeling it wasn't the regular cold this time because he's literally had 4-5 colds this fall/winter going to school and we were unfortunately right. So he was exposed at school and now me and my wife just feel like sitting ducks. So far neither of us have symptoms after 5 days so we'll get tested today to see what our next steps are. Besides the Hawks doing well, 2022 sucks
It's Espn so yeah. I really like what he and Udeh are bringing to the front court.
Cool NIL shirt

Zuby should be about 35 or 40, somewhere there abouts right?
That's what he is on 247
ESPN updated their rankings which will factor into the composite on 247. Also looks good when ESPN does their slobber fest of freshman in the beginning of seasons.
Gradey in the Top 10. Zuby is too low.
Gradey Dick #8 5-star
MJ Rice #19 5-star
Ernest Udeh #23 5-star
Zuby Ejiofor #76 4-star
Winning masks a lot of issues that popped up last night. @drgnslayr is right, they were so sped up for almost the entire game. And yet the last 4-5 minutes they finally found a way to scrap a win. Och scores 10 points and CB makes that 3 with 10 seconds left. Eerily similar to the Iowa St game last week where we just made more plays then the other team down the stretch. I'm encouraged that we've found ways to win when we play absolutely dreadful. That's a staple of Self teams over the years especially on the road, getting a W no matter how bad it looks. I'm also encouraged because this team wasn't challenged that much in non-con play and I think these wins build the team up more then 30 pt blowouts. It gives you some confidence this team can make winning plays in the clutch as Harris/Braun have now done in consecutive weeks. Agbaji has made the winning pass in both of those wins too so it hasn't just been hero ball that's getting it done.
Self deserves some blame here for how the game kind of flowed in the middle. He had some absolute clown lineups out there with zero scoring threats. We were so lucky Mitch made some clutch baskets at times to break momentum or keep them in it.
I'm not surprised this was a close game, Vegas had this at 3.5 so it was exactly how they saw it. We had our A++ 2nd half on Saturday and we came back down to earth playing a new OU coach/team for the most part on their home court. I do expect we'll see better Saturday tbh.
What a clown show those refs were last night. Just when I thought we had seen the worst officiated game of the season in Texas Tech we now have the OU game saying "hold my beer". It's just getting to the point where I have zero confidence in general in Big-12 officials. OU had 2 team fouls at the under 8 timeout in the 2nd half last night and I can't even start to unwind how many bad calls were made in this game overall. OU had 3 extra helping hands and still lost.
Miami has a bunch of 24 year olds
Seriously a GREAT play
