@jayballer67

Yeah definitely a concern Rice could take a better deal somewhere but for now he is committed and that at least is something. Gortman didn't commit anywhere before taking that deal. KU will presumably be able to be in his ear about staying the College route...

2022 Recruiting Thread • Aug 10, 2021 04:57 PM

Film on Rice was solid as heck. Can definitely impact in a variety of ways. The roster is going to need a talent infusion so this is a great way to help that along. Definitely see the Selden comp's. Thought I was watching Wayne highlights tbh

Struggling today. • Aug 10, 2021 04:54 PM

Fiance's job is home care providing & at the time of the lockdowns we had an extremely autistic person living with us. For basically 6 months after we felt like we were on an abandoned island with no support, no where to run and no where to get away and simply breathe. Unfortunately we could not take it anymore and the person had to leave our home. For the next few months we felt like we had severe trauma from dealing with that situation. Now we are getting our 4 year old ready for Pre-K and the stress is high with this Delta strain. We have some comfort in living in the state with the highest vaccination rates but that doesn't account for kids. Our son needs the structure and interaction he'll get from school but we are very afraid of sending him somewhere where he might come home with covid & we'll feel responsible. Thought we were getting to the point where we could manage this virus but man its hard to find the light right now

@BShark

I hope he follows through with playing for Bill but with the ever changing landscape who knows. The 22 class is certainly trending towards immediate talent infusion and guys that can impact in year 1

2022 Recruiting Thread • Aug 10, 2021 04:12 PM

Interesting. Not holding my breathe on him playing here just yet. We'll see. If he does that's a big time pickup. Hope our NIL game is strong

NCAA to speed up IARP cases (KU's) • Aug 05, 2021 02:28 PM

There are not enough bad words in the dictionary for the NCAA.

2021 Recruiting • Aug 05, 2021 09:58 AM

Even with the NIL, the G League has to be the option. Jalen Green & Kuminga just went #2 and #7 in the draft after going G-League. I cannot imagine he sees that and doesn't follow

Got paid!!!

@jayballer67

Not sure why he released a final 10 when he's a done deal to get paid at Kentucky.

OU, Texas to the SEC? • Jul 29, 2021 09:21 AM

@Kcmatt7

Change will suck that's for sure.

OU, Texas to the SEC? • Jul 29, 2021 09:20 AM

This made me laugh

Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby accused ESPN of encouraging other conferences to pick apart the league so Texas and Oklahoma can move to the Southeastern Conference more quickly and without paying a massive buyout.

The claims in the letter have no merit," ESPN said in a statement.

Talk about getting caught with your pants down Bowlsby

OU, Texas to the SEC? • Jul 26, 2021 04:17 PM

@FarmerJayhawk

Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Per ESPN

"The possibility remains that they pay the $75-80 million penalty for leaving early, while also giving the required 18 months' notice, per Big 12 bylaws."

This was interesting..

"Some have speculated that this is the first legal maneuver, and the possibility also exists that if the Big 12 dissolves before 2025, OU and Texas would no longer be bound to stay through the duration of the contract."

"The move might be costly for Oklahoma and Texas. Under Big 12 bylaws, they have to give the league 18 months' notice that they're leaving. The two schools signed agreements with the Big 12 that granted their first- and second-tier media rights to the league through June 30, 2025, and the Big 12 would own their rights until the deal expires -- even if they leave."

The last part about the Big-12 owning their rights even if they leave makes, wow. I bet they are hoping the Big-12 dissolves..

OU, Texas to the SEC? • Jul 26, 2021 03:24 PM

Its over OU, Texas pulling out. Whether it happens before 2025 is going to be hotly decided

Olympics • Jul 26, 2021 01:14 PM

Watched the Men's Basketball team lose to France. That was ugly how they let France back in the game late in the 4th. Don't think that team has the chemistry. Lillard was non-existent in the 4th. Outside of Jrue Holiday I didn't think anyone stepped up.

Funny that Tshiebwe and his handlers wanted to get away from West Virginia for playing 2 bigs but if Kofi goes to UK boy that cannot sit well with them. They have Collins, Ware & Hopkins as well. So many mouths to feed with 1 ball

Looks like Illinois has snaked their way in the Epps recruitment

They have been in it from the start of him re-opening. Might be prioritizing him more than KU... But I'm not worried about Illinois in general.

Definitely a KU/Illinois battle based on the article Bossi ran. NC St seems like they are 3rd. UConn rounds out the 4 he's really into. Says relationships will matter the most. Illinois has already landed two guards in 22. Maybe he'll see more PT opportunity with KU with the Martin/Agbaji/Coleman-Lands moving on after the season

Wasn't Kofi set on following the assistant that left for Kentucky. Him leaving otherwise just makes no sense.

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Jul 08, 2021 12:56 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10

Agree the roster is stacked. Hopefully all the pieces fit. Going to be 3-4 good players feeling the squeeze this season as you noted, Self probably has to go with 9 in the rotation and really with this deep of a team he can afford to do so to keep guys fresh and healthy. There should be adequate depth at every position.

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Jul 06, 2021 03:33 PM

The top 7 is still not an athletic bunch. JCL fills a big off the bench microwave scorer type.

The backup 4 is interesting because its either a guard or a freshman. Braun at the 4 is an interesting thought unless his aggresiveness goes way up.. Those two freshman have different skill sets. So intriguing to see.

OCHAI BACK!!!! LETS GET IT

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Jul 02, 2021 05:04 PM

Between the 2 behemoths we could get 40 minutes out of them. They both foul a lot and can't play a ton of minutes so this would be awesome thing to have. Of course Kofi isn't coming here with Dave here. Pencil him in at Duke or something

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Jul 02, 2021 04:25 PM

Obanor is arguably better then Ochai. He was really good in the NCAA tournament

Will be interesting to see what recruiting power the new coach has since Coach K really will have nothing to do with coaching him. FSU was on him super early way before Duke came calling. They also have a great relationship with his High School. In the end he'll swoosh or g-league

2022 Recruiting Thread • Jun 30, 2021 10:27 AM

@FarmerJayhawk

FSU has maintained they are still up there at the top of his recruitment. Think this is a FSU/Duke battle
