Jacobs looks like a top 20 player to me. Highlights are great and all and they highlight what he does well. Would love to see a game of his in full to get a feel for what type of floor leader he is.

If he gains a few inches over the next few years look out. I hope he stays solid to KU but you always wonder if kids will stick 3 years later when all the top kids around him are getting exposure and recruiting media constantly after you...

Check out Wiggs dunk • Nov 27, 2016 05:14 PM

@Crimsonorblue22

Insane dunk. Wiggs has struggled a bit over his last 5 though after that crazy start. Team is struggling under Thibs

Protecting the Merchandise • Nov 27, 2016 05:13 PM

@BShark

why because they offered a scholarship. this one will go into April

Peaking - enjoy the ride • Nov 27, 2016 05:12 PM

Honestly I just think UNC is playing to their talent because they have a lot of veterans. The only position they don't have experience at is SG. They look like last years KU team. They have very talented freshman coming off the bench and fitting into roles already. Even if Duke gets guys healthy UNC is looking like the best team in the ACC, which I thought anyway.

I wouldn't trade places with them but they look like the best team right now.

good gosh he can dunk for a little guy

Udunka Very Mucho • Nov 27, 2016 01:52 AM

@BShark

Thank you I confused games. None the less we should be excited Doke played well while also keeping check the competition he did it against.

And I think we might be seeing the unraveling of Lucas. He's looked unraveled and mentally not in the game because of calls going against him. He needs to find whatever was motivating him last year because he just lost his starting spot

Udunka Very Mucho • Nov 26, 2016 04:38 PM

It was nice to see Doke throw down those dunks. Finally a post player playing like a KU post player we know. Encouraging game, I liked his effort on defense more then the flashy dunks he got. Nobody was guarding him or could guard him on Asheville.

Think about it though. Doke vs Asheville = Diallo vs Holy Cross. Similar OMG "he's so good game".

Counter to that was Doke's effort vs Duke. He rebounded well against a top team.

Encouraged by the effort, glad he stepped up with his name called. It was the perfect game for Self to see what he's got. I think he answered the question. Anything but Lucas playing right now is the answer

Gonna be an interesting season • Nov 26, 2016 03:07 AM

I'm shocked they came back but good for Baylor, they have some key wins already and are not hiding behind cupcake schedules.

They have a lot of size and upgrades at positions with veterans. Going to be a tough out.

here you go/ - -Bragg/Lucas no starts • Nov 26, 2016 03:04 AM

well it clearly didn't improve their play but Doke played well!

KU vs Dawgs Round 2 Game Thread • Nov 26, 2016 02:00 AM

@BShark

I agree which until this week we never thought that would be the case.

The fouling by Lucas is more than an issue now. For a "smart" player he's not playing that way

KU vs Dawgs Round 2 Game Thread • Nov 26, 2016 01:57 AM

Doke played well. Jackson and Mason doing their thing. I love this teams core

Nice half. We are head and shoulders better.

I just have to ask after seeing Lucas in the game lost, fouling, doing the same crap again. The poor body language. Why is he playing. Coleby is playing better, play him

Self saw it and brought in Coleby later.

But it doesn't last. You would figure not starting would smarten you up. This seems to be doing the opposite

Baylor up now

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 09:34 PM

with plenty of help from the refs

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 09:33 PM

temple trying to choke away their lead

The answer to the post problem = FLOPPING • Nov 25, 2016 09:31 PM
  1. Lucas 21pts, 20 fouls

  2. Bragg 44pts, 16 fouls

  3. Doke 10pts, 14 fouls

  4. Coleby, 2 pts, 5 fouls

  5. Lightfoot 2pts 1 foul

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 09:02 PM

Baylor tired team, no chance today against Louisville

The answer to the post problem = FLOPPING • Nov 25, 2016 08:56 PM

Been watching a few games this week and seeing how officials are calling the game outside of KU games. What I'm seeing is the ref's continuing to ruin the game, but that's besides the point.

Our post bigs have had a lot of trouble defending without fouling or staying out of foul trouble overall.

The Answer = FLOP. Self get in practice and teach flopping, get in the film room and get all the Duke highlights & Marcus Smart film you can find. Defenders don't even have to play defense, if you step in a guys lane, don't do anything and fall down you get the call.

Sounds horrible right? But this is how the game is being called. So Bill get those guys practicing falling, you might save your post players 4-5 fouls a game! Happy Friday all

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 08:49 PM

Down 18 now!! wooo

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 08:43 PM

huggy bear being mean to the refs, T'd UPPP

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 08:39 PM

that was a big win for Izzo's team

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 08:38 PM

Temple putting it to WVU early

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 05:43 PM

@BShark

Next year ISU will be back to mediocrity. This year they have enough pieces with the Big-12 down and most of College Basketball for that matter to be a tourney team again

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 05:42 PM

Time to find something else to watch when ISU's 10th guy is making 3's.

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 05:40 PM

ISU still looks like a team that will play its super bowl game in Ames when we come to town.

And struggle on the road against 3-4 others and fall off

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 05:38 PM

@BShark

if they play like this in the ACC, its going to be a long year. definitely not a tourney team

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 05:37 PM

classy move, hanging on the rim off a missed dunk

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 05:36 PM

I feel like I'm watching a mid-major team. Miami turns it over every possession

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 05:35 PM

@BShark

anything to sell their fans a dream

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 05:27 PM

@BShark

Nothing, not sure why their freshman aren't showing more of an impact

Protecting the Merchandise • Nov 25, 2016 05:25 PM

@BShark

At least we know his intentions already. Following his situation I've always gotten the feeling he and his father haven't been very mature during this process. Reminds me of Malik Newman's situation really. They would do better just not saying anything until they decide where he's going

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 05:23 PM

Miami is terrible this year

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 05:20 PM

well looks like they got the same refs today

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 04:23 PM

If Flopping was ever a point of emphasis for the ref's they sure missed the ball in this game

I like how Coleby competed the other night. He still can't jump or move the way he used to. He was a fairly athletic guy at Ole Miss.

He's got long arms, can rebound/box out and offered some rim protection at least the other night. That looked like the best option we had Tuesday and maybe going forward.

I respect Lucas for what he did for this team last year but until he turns it around I'd sit him and make him earn his position again. The fouls whether bogus or not are really hurting this team

Iowa State • Nov 25, 2016 04:13 PM

yes those ref's loved ISU the other night. smh

Protecting the Merchandise • Nov 25, 2016 04:11 PM

We want Duval, the basketball player. Business decision only, KU will be better with him then without him

Jayhawk Post Fiasco • Nov 23, 2016 07:47 PM

Nice post. We'll be all right even if the progress looks painful right now

Baylor/VCU • Nov 23, 2016 07:43 PM

Playing in that ballroom/made court in the Bahamas. Tied early.

Side Note- UConn's season is over- leading scorer out of the year with the ACL

KU BIGS • Nov 23, 2016 06:53 PM

Honestly I don't want them to shoot the ball unless they are wide open. We don't have a single post player that can catch a pass make a move and make a basket. I would like to think Bragg is that guy but half the time he can't even catch the pass.

We are better off not worrying about where our post Points are coming from. Right now they are a bonus to games we play.

And our 5 guards can do everything, we are fine until future notice

Cowboys vs Roys boys • Nov 23, 2016 05:34 AM

I see OSU is grooming the next Forte. Some kids name I can't pronounce is already known as a better shooter then Forte. = we will hate him

KU/GEORGIA GAME CHAT • Nov 23, 2016 05:32 AM

@HawkChamp

at least we know this team can play zone. having smalls in probably helps it be effective when your playing a team without 3 point threats.

I don't think we would have survived the foul war had we stuck in M2M

KU/GEORGIA GAME CHAT • Nov 23, 2016 05:30 AM

@kjayhawks

absolutely agree, we survived his Shawn Kemp night. They didn't have an answer for Mason or Jackson who both left points on the floor

Cowboys vs Roys boys • Nov 23, 2016 05:29 AM

OSU down 32. hahahaha

KU/GEORGIA GAME CHAT • Nov 23, 2016 05:28 AM

@jaybate-1.0

Self was a genius for sticking with that zone defense. We might not have survived a M2M game

KU/GEORGIA GAME CHAT • Nov 23, 2016 05:27 AM

@kjayhawks

well Georgia had nothing else and he had one of those typical career nights we see 6-10 times a year

Cowboys vs Roys boys • Nov 23, 2016 05:21 AM

@kjayhawks

Thats what happens when you play creampuff central and creampuff state and expect to roll a top 5 team with experience!

KU/GEORGIA GAME CHAT • Nov 23, 2016 05:20 AM

@kjayhawks

he averaged 16.5 last year as a Soph. pre-season 1st team SEC, he's a good player
