Baylor upsets ISU ON THE ROAD • Jan 10, 2016 04:32 AM

Cyclones are a sinking ship. Kind of sad to watch. To bad the Mayor left.

@jaybate-1.0

I prefer them called Inglorious Bastards. :bowtie:

The Road To The Big 12 Conference Title... • Jan 10, 2016 04:22 AM

@DinarHawk

I would fav you out of respect but I can't. Because you're doubting.

I just watched a football game where I seen an heard the tomahawk chop in an opposing teams stadium. Then watched KU play their worst game and never doubted they would win against a very good opponent. Tubbs is doing wonders with that school and team. Yet you seen it, as well as I did.

Coach is stepping outside the box this year. He's playing for keeps.

KU goes undefeated.

Yep you heard it hear first.

The Road To The Big 12 Conference Title... • Jan 10, 2016 04:15 AM

@JayHawkFanToo

Nope sorry friend. KU goes undefeated in Big 12 conference play. Coach is stepping out side the box. The trey is raining and Coach is going to bench like he has never had one before.

Rock Chalk Talk from Lubbock • Jan 10, 2016 04:07 AM

Not all games can be pretty. Happy to see Coach go to his bench. KU won a tough game on the road not even coming close to playing their best game.

Rock Chalk.

@JayHawkFanToo

Numbers can be twisted, as you're doing right now. Yet I still think the evidence I provided proves my point that even being a lottery pick is still a 50/50 chance of making it.

I mean you're hanging you hat on if Buddy is drafted high then his chances increase, which I wouldn't argue. Yet it's still a 50/50 proposition and not the slam dunk you're trying present.

I rest my case. :stuck_out_tongue:

Alright I'll be the bad guy • Jan 09, 2016 01:23 AM

@JayHawkFanToo

You can't win all games with heart. KU has heart but so does OU, and they will have the home court advantage.

Basketball Food Adventures • Jan 09, 2016 01:22 AM

It's never to cold to grill. Never. So I like to fire up the charcoal grill. Chicken, steak, Hamburger, whatever is the pleasure of the day. I do always grill brats though. I have to wash down that choice craft beer of day with something.

Then as the game time approaches. A switch is made to Crown Royal, Templeton Rye, or some Bird Dog.

If all goes right a fat stogie and a trip to the KUbuckets is in order.

Alright I'll be the bad guy • Jan 09, 2016 01:16 AM

@JayHawkFanToo

KU plays that way in Oklahoma and KU won't be winning.

@JayHawkFanToo

The NBA is tough ↗

I'm not sure why you're taking this so seriously? Like I said Buddy is a good kid hope he makes it but the odds are against him. Even as a lottery pick his are only 50/50.

I don't even know what we are arguing about? I'm giving could hard facts and you're giving me what you think it should be.

Yet for some reason I'm an asshole because I post the obvious. It will be hard for Buddy to make it in the NBA.

Alright I'll be the bad guy • Jan 09, 2016 12:55 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10

Maybe he didn't maybe he did? All I know is Coach didn't go to his bench, and that played right into OU's and Lon's wish list.

@JayHawkFanToo

Sorry my friend if you're rude to me, then I'll be rude right back. Just how I roll.

@Texas-Hawk-10

Buddy is a great kid one we true college basketball fans should root for. No problems with that. Yet you know as well as I do. Buddy is not an uberstar. Meaning to be successful in in the NBA he needs to find a niche something he can hang his hat on.

The NBA is a cruel reality. Buddy's success depends on a lot of variables. Like who drafts him, what kind of offense does the team play, who is the coach, who is on the team, and can he get any playing time?

You must not bet much, as betting is a numbers game. Well that is if you want to win, or break even. Sure betting on the long shots can bring big money but very seldom do they ever come through.

Also you didn't disagree with me you told me I was wrong and in so many ways acted like your right. Kind of rude if you ask me. Especially when all I said was the odds are against Buddy making it in the NBA.

@JayHawkFanToo

That's funny I thought I was the one being civil. After all I guess I can't see past my homerism to have rational judgements on players?

So being drafted in the 1st round guarantees success? Do you really want to have that debate? Also I never said Buddy couldn't be a success, just said the odds are against him. Does anybody read before they post?

P.S. Civility is a wonderful thing but nothing works with people that think their poop doesn't stink.

@Texas-Hawk-10

Maybe you should learn to read?? Before you break down some one and what they've posted? What a novel ideal HUH?

Sorry facts hurt, but numbers say the Buddy will fail in his bid to be an NBA star or even be a good player in the NBA. Again It's not an opinion or even my opinion. You didn't even read that did you? Again it's not an opinion or even my opinion. Did you read it that time?

Go back and read my posts I neither claimed Buddy would succeed or fail as and NBA player. I merely pointed out the odds are against Buddy and any young rising player. The odds are so slanted I would be willing to make a bet.

I'm blinded by my homerism? I have no clue what your even try to imply? By the way aren't you an OU fan?

@drgnslayr

Wigs without even thinking about. Buddy is good not sure he's the type of player you would build an NBA team around. I'm not sure I'd even waste a lottery pick on Buddy. Yet that is just me.

@Texas-Hawk-10

Please spare me? I could tell you the sky is blue and the grass is green and you would find a reason to disagree with me. The reality is the odds are against Buddy making it big in the NBA, or even being a good player. That's not opinion just the numbers.

@Texas-Hawk-10

Alright lets make a $20 bet?? If Buddy makes an all star game in his first 5 years. The check is in the mail. If Buddy doesn't make an all star game. in his first 5 years. Then you will start a topic on KUbuckets

The title should be I was wrong.

Then you will write a post telling other posters how you will never ever question @DoubleDD again.

The Divide Has Been Drawn • Jan 07, 2016 08:23 PM

@Kong

I'm not sure I agree that when Traylor and Lucas are in the offense runs smoother. In fact I think it's the opposite. The offense bogs down and KU plays bad ball when either Traylor or Lucas are manning the paint.

I'm not sure Buddy is the stud some of you think he is. Don't get me wrong he's a great college player, but the NBA is a whole another animal. Too many great college players make it to the NBA, and are never heard of again.

I'm just guessing but if Buddy was the man he would have already left for the NBA. I could be wrong though.

The Divide Has Been Drawn • Jan 07, 2016 05:23 AM

@jaybate-1.0

I'm all for the Inglorious Bastards. Like wise No, we cannot win a title and a ring with Lucas and Traylor starting and playing 25-30 mpg. They would wreck us for sure.

The Divide Has Been Drawn • Jan 07, 2016 03:48 AM

@drgnslayr

Good points but will Coach play him? That's the question. I hope so.

Just thowing this out there • Jan 07, 2016 03:35 AM

@DanR

Well said. Sadly though some KU fans think if a player doesn't play they'll be back for another year. The College game and the NBA has changed. It's just not that way anymore.

Just thowing this out there • Jan 07, 2016 03:31 AM

@Bwag

I don't like either. Yet it is what is.

The Divide Has Been Drawn • Jan 07, 2016 03:23 AM

@DinarHawk

I kind of considered Hunter in the mix with Ellis. Yet after the OU game maybe I should reconsider that point.

Just thowing this out there • Jan 07, 2016 03:17 AM

There has been a swelling belief that Diallo and Bragg aren't ready, and should therefore ride the bench until next year when they are ready.

Guys and Gals I'm not trying to pick a fight. Seriously.

The reality is the NBA throws big money at potential. It doesn't matter if Bragg or Diallo play or not. It doesn't matter if the truth is they aren't ready. If anyone of them so much as smells a lottery pick they're gone. It has nothing to do with KU, and it has nothing to do with being ready.

It's about the money boys and girls. You really think an NBA GM is going to put stock in Coach playing Lucas and Traylor over Diallo and Bragg? Two players that can't even hold Diallo and Bragg's Jock strap when it come to potential?

@JayHawkFanToo

It will be hyped no doubt, but I think KU kicks their ass. Well unless Coach tries to play muscle ball.

The Divide Has Been Drawn • Jan 07, 2016 02:56 AM

The real question?

Can KU win another conference championship with Traylor and Lucas playing the most minutes?

Can KU win a national championship with Traylor and Lucas playing the most minutes?

It's that simple.

Bottom line if Traylor and Lucas get the most minutes then Diallo and Bragg never reach their ceiling as they aren't playing.

Alright I'll be the bad guy • Jan 07, 2016 02:40 AM

@globaljaybird

For me I'm torn. How do you question a Coach as successful as HCBS? I'm trying real hard as fan not to be so critical of Coach and what decisions he makes.

Yet I am a faithful fan and have dropped big bucks just to watch KU play a meaningless game. It scares or bothers me that when the tough get going Coach went back to bad ball. I'm not a coach nor a genius of the game of basketball. Yet I've seen enough of Bad Ball to know it's not a good thing. Maybe you had the means to record that game. If you did go back and watch the end of the second half and the overtimes. When Coach went with Traylor and Lucas the dynamics of the game completely changed. It wasn't that KU wasn't shooting the trey balls, it was the trey ball was no longer open. I'm not an advocate of just chucking three's. This is why I love KU shooters as they really don't take bad shots.

To me Coach sacrificed offense for defense. Which that is fine as it did work. Yet I don't feel this approach will work for a full season. I know a lot of KU fans love these knock out drag out ball games, yet the truth is these types of games hurt KU long term. I guess I would feel differently if the Big 12 actually showed in the tournament. Yet from the results it's not that way. KU is in a rock in a hard place Their trying to win another conference championship and play for a national championship..

OU and Lon kind of proves my point. They dragged Coach into a muscle game when Coach should've stuck to his gun and played to his teams real strength. "depth". My personal opinion Coach and KU played right into Lon and OU's hands. They wanted this type of game where just one missed or made shot decides the game.

You see if OU and Lon win the Big 12 conference and bow out early in the tournament then their season will be considered a success. KU and Coach can't say the same. Don't get me wrong I'm all for KU and coach trying to win the Big 12 conference. Yet what good does it do if at the end season and Gram, Lucas, and Selden are beat up and worn out going into the tourney?

I see a lot of KU fans on here believing and voicing that Daillo and Bragg aren't ready. Maybe they are right. Yet I've also seen them do some things that Lucas and Traylor can only dream about doing. Now don't get me wrong I'm not demanding that Lucas and Traylor be exiled to the pine never to be heard from again. They have paid their dues and they should play. They're experience and leadership should demand that. Yet they should not be depended on just to win games. It worked this time. Yet try this again in our rematch with OU on their floor, and KU will get blown out.

Coach needs to play the Inglorious Bastards period.

Alright I'll be the bad guy • Jan 06, 2016 07:25 AM

Look the OU slash KU game was the greatest. One that won't be forgotten for a long time. Espn is happy, the Big 12 is happy, and college basketball fans in general are happy. Yet should KU fans be happy? Yes we should that was a hard fought game and KU was indeed the hunted in that game and they stood their ground. Yes KU faithful the Big 12 regular season conference championship still runs through KU land. All is good or is it?

No I'm not worried about OU or any other team. I worried about Coach. The first half Coach was playing the new found style of play. Coach was going to the bench, KU was pushing the pace, shooting the 3 ball and well just playing like they have been. Yet in the later part of the second half Coach decided to tighten the reins. There was no more going to the bench? Coach for his reasons decides to run with Traylor and Lucas. Hey I'm not against playing those kids, they've paid their dues.

Yet I noticed something. When Coach decided to run with Traylor and Lucas the open 3's disappeared and bad ball appeared. No longer were treys on the menu. I'm not sure but it was at this moment when Coach decided to run with Traylor and Lucas that OU started playing their best defense. All of the sudden the open 3 dried up as Lon had his boys just sit on the trey line, and double teamed Ellis in the paint. Thank God Coach countered with getting Ellis the ball at the top of the key before the double team could come. Allowing Ellis to do some driving.

It was indeed a great game and I don't blame Coach for doing what he did. KU won and we fans are indeed quite happy. Yet should we be? Did Lon and OU expose a truth about KU and Coach? When the game is tight will coach give up on the new found offense scheme and go back to Bad Ball?

I don't know? I just noticed when Coach went with Traylor and Lucas strictly the trey ball disappeared.

Ok. That was fun. But is KU really #1? • Jan 06, 2016 06:57 AM

Don't make to much of KU only winning by 3 at home over OU

OU is a good team and Coach Lon had them ready to come and play. OU as well as everybody else in the Big 12 knows. YOU WANT TO WIN THE BIG 12 THEN YOU HAVE TO GO THROUGH LAWERANCE, KS.

KU was the hunted in this game, and OU was the hunter. Yet coach and KU were ready for the onslaught. To bad the officiating was in the bag for OU, as this game never makes it to triple overtime.

Also don't expect OU to just win at home against KU. I wouldn't be surprised if KU wins by 10. That's only if coach will continue to give Bragg and Diallo playing time. If by chance Coach decides to run with Traylor and Lucas then OU blows out KU.

In a game to remember for quite some time. With the lights on high and the media darlings dressed tight and speaking with passion and know how. There it stood.

Oh you could see it and you could even hear it. Yet it was the feeling. It touched your skin even though most weren't even their at the game. It sang into you ears. It drawed you in. Only us in KU truly know.

PAY HEED MY KENTUCKY FRIENDS

BEWARE OF THE PHOG

@JayHawkFanToo

It's basically the same team from last year? Ah never mind I'm to tired my friend. The epic OU battle was about all I can handle.

Good night.

Very seldom do great college players carry over great first half stats to the second half. OU is living off Heild. OU is living off borrowed time.

I wouldn't say poor defense. Nobody is going to shut down OU. To many weapons. Take away the one sides officiating and OU is getting blown out.

Oklahoma vs Kansas Chat • Jan 05, 2016 03:05 AM

@jaybate-1.0

Lone doesn't have enough bullets to stay in this game.

Oklahoma vs Kansas Chat • Jan 05, 2016 03:03 AM

The only reason OU is even in this game is the officiating.
