As the season passes into the rearview mirror and the recruiting takes it's spot front and center. When the hot of the press news about some smoking/hot shooting guard wants to sign with KU appears on the front page. Please I beg you just take me out into the woods and shoot me.

As usually you humble me. However being the crazy and fighter that I'm am I would rather go down swinging, meaning doing what we do best (shooting the three) instead of pretending we can do something (inside game) we can't really do.

Yea but HCBS ran maybe what two sets for a three shot? I'm sorry you don't pound the ball inside all game then expect shooters to come out and bury three's. It's either apart of the game plan or it's not. Look at the threes that were shot, they were hurried and a last resort. If that's the way it is, then don't even shoot the damn three at all. Let just pound it inside and see how far we get in the tournament?
Also I don't think its fair to say that pounding inside has won all the games KU has. I remember a lot games where the 3 ball saved the day.

We just played a high/low game to perfection, and Ellis scored big time (love that kid) yet we lost to a team that sucks. No my friend they aren't good in away. You speak of guarded three's, but I ask did HCBS run any sets for the three ball? What maybe two? Yea so tell me my friend how a team that can shot lights out from three land, only runs 2 set from 3 land?

I always love your takes read them like an addiction, but we lost this game because our game plan was to pound it inside from the tip off until the final whistle was blown. Every opposing team knows this, even though our strength is shooting the three.

I work up in Chicago and eastern IA and what he's going through now is the same thing he's going through when he was at Illinois. He lost control of his team and couldn't nail down recruiting in his own backyard. I listened to many of radio shows talking about Illinois studs leaving the state.
Well that's because HCBS was a better recruiter than HCRW. LOL
Sorry no up vote on that one. He took HCBS's players to that one. I have no doubt the boy can coach, but when he takes his own players to a final four then I'll listen. Coaching isn't just about x and ooo it. :) You have to recruit too.

It's one thing when the opposing team guards the three, However it's another when HCBS doesn't even run any offense to get some three looks. Yet all game we just pounded the ball inside hoping the threes would fall late in hurried situations. You can't do that to shooters. It's either part if the offense game plan or it's not. It seems to me HCBS doesn't care about the three game, will until his team is down then he wants three's. Problem is be then the opposing team knows you need threes. Just saying.

See that's my point. MU and KU was a rivalry because we hated each other. It didn't matter what the overall record was. Yet with Kstate I feel like it's more about their hate for KU. I call it envy, in that they want to be KU.
In a rivalry game when your team loses, as a fan it hurts. I just don't feel the same with Kstate. Hell we have KU fans that want to see Kstate do well. Just look at all the love for HCSynder, and that's from KU fans.
After feeding my addiction with a daily dose of KUBuckets and other media outlets. I was left with my eyes squinting, my hands feeling like they just changed a diaper and my head tilting like gravity had shifted. I keep hearing and reading that the Kstate and KU game is a rivalry game? I get that both schools have Kansas in their name, and have played one another quite a few times. Does playing a lot of games make it a rivalry? Does Kstate circling the dates they play KU on the calendar make it a rivalry game?
Does any KU fan really care? Does beating Kstate really give us KU fans any bragging rights?

Too Funny. I have to be honest I kind of like seeing the Weber implosion, and hope KSU keeps him around for awhile.
In this new day and age. A coach cant' always just recruit or sign the players they want, but I do see you're point. If you're going to be a system coach then they need to recruit or draft according to their system. Even if it means passing on a big name.
The season doesn't have to die if HCBS would start running some offense for the Fools Gold three point shot.

I'm like anyone I'll take a bad win over a bad loss any day, but I think the issue is??? Well is this team getting any better? As fans we have been teased at times at what this team can really do, however other times we walk away thinking how did we even win this game.
I'm not going to pretend I have the answers because I don't. It's just this team frustrates me to death. It is dripping with talent, and it seems to be on the verge of having a swagger. Yet at times it plays like it has no idea what its doing. (shaking my head).

No Svi is going to be the man. You don't pick up a scholarship to a blue blood school like KU at the age of 17 unless you have mad skills. His problem he's been playing European ball. Which from what few game I've ever watched and stuff I've read is more of a finesse game. The physicality of the US game seems to be a big adjustment for him.
I understand the Selden love. The more experience, and proven player, but I think I'm with @HighEliteMajor on the Svi love. I just hope the kid sticks around for another year.
When Weber first burst onto the KC scene. There seem to be a lot of enthusiasm about his future at Kstate. I was more in the crowd of maybe we should pump the brakes here.
The truth of the matter Weber did a fine job at Illinois with the players HCBS had recruited. However after beginning to build the team with his own players things begin to fall apart for him.
It seems History is repeating itself. Weber with HCFM's kids was a genius and even a bit cocky. What KU fan can forget the interview where Weber said everybody around here asked when are we going to beat KU? Weber then said well there you go we did that.
I think or have to believe that Weber can x and o it, but as far as recruiting and keeping his team under control. I'm not so sure.
Working in and out of Chicago and eastern Iowa over the years. Weber had the same problems at Illinois. Just Saying.
