@SlimShaddy54 itāll be like 10-15 rows. Keeping somewhat of a view from the hill is a huge priority for donors and the university. The administration really, really wants to keep the walking down the hill for graduation tradition going
@nuleafjhawk park downtown and take the shuttle to and from Memorial. Itās $1 each way plus you can hang out on Mass before and after. Also if you get to the game early enough street parking in the neighborhood north of the stadium is free. Anywhere below 9th and between Missouri and Mississippi Streets are your best bet. I also believe thereās a shuttle that runs from the lot across from Allen. People also sell parking passes on the secondary market. So lots of options.
Edit: lots of good info here https://parking.ku.edu/football-game-day ā
The west and north sides look awesome in person. There wonāt be much going on the south side (honestly the video board is the main improvement over there) so itās really 2/3 done. The east side will likely look like lower deck, a party deck, upper deck.
@dylans ah well pretty much none of that applies to me so on we go. When youāre in a drought only so much water is available (sometimes itās none). It just depends on the year and rotations, but our big crops are wheat, beans, corn, and milo. Most years fall crop is our main season. We start planting in late spring and finish harvesting sometimes late fall. Winter is all about placing orders and keeping the books in order, which is real work for us. Itās pretty involved running the day to day stuff for what would I consider to be a very successful business.
And it was quite an experience growing up laying gated pipe and going twice a day to open and close gates then go to the other fields to run siphon tubes. Good memories.
@dylans then it kills your proven yield baseline so a couple bad years can really screw you.
Itās a stressful job for about anyone, at least from the people Iāve known over the years. Not sure what my degree has to do with it (econ really emphasizes decision making under uncertainty and providing a range of outcomes) but I know business majors who have been really successful at it. Iām still involved in the management side of things since my grandpa retired so Iām still in it, but you wonāt find me in a cab anytime soon. The renters would be very confused lol
Phase 1 is done (except for a few small things KUAD will do)! š¦ View Tweet?s=46&t=c0LiaNrxev6XfT7LIH8dAQ
@dylans farmers have a time honored tradition of complaining about the weather. Itās a skill honed over many generations of Kansas farming communities. I just talked to my grandpa the other day and he was upset about the heat burning up our fall crop. This cold front is much needed. Itās not a nice day in Kansas when a storm destroys your income for the season.
The nice thing about Kansas is not only do the summers suck, the winters also suck.
@dylans grew up farming, which made me realize working from my home office is much more pleasant. I remember my dad and grandpa saying go to college so you donāt have to do this.
Just got back from a walk. Itās 88 at 10:30 in LFK. Feels like 97
Hopefully these show up but I took some photos last night with the blue LEDs. !alt text ā

@rockchalkjayhawk it was several years ago. Blockages develop over time. We donāt know how often Self goes to a cardiologist to get checked. For all we know last time he went everything was fine.
I hope Coach is healthy enough to coach however he wants. I am concerned about the number of fans who just want to hand Jacque the keys and not do a real search.
He was out golfing at least according to local gossip
No way. Bad academics, basketball is on probation, small market.
Itās crunch time. 2 weeks until contractors hand it over to KUAD for finishing touches.
@approxinfinity yeah he went 11th, not sure what got lost in translation there
@approxinfinity he absolutely killed the combine, both in athletic testing and shooting.
KU keeps things close to the vest on NIL. Theyāre going to hit the revshare cap easily and Goff said yesterday theyāre adding scholarships. On the Big East thing, fine theyāll have more RevShare for basketball but none of them are good on NIL. Any school like KU can easily compete in terms of a total financial package. On UConn, theyāre going to spend a lot more than most on womenās basketball as well. KU is well positioned to compete, though being in the Big 12 vs. the P2 is still a significant disadvantage. It would be a heck of a lot easier to hit the revshare cap with an additional $40m in tv revenue.
@Texas-Hawk-10 he went from a good kid who loves throwing bales to work out to an entitled diva overnight

@rockchalkjayhawk post-House there is a hard cap we have in terms of RevShare. That money is spent. Now, if there are donors willing to pony up for NIL for a guy (subject to getting through Deloitteās clearinghouse) thatās a different deal but KUAD is tapped.
Ahh, gotcha. So RevShare is that $20 million cap that schools have for all sports?
Yes. All power conference schools have the same lid in terms of revshare

Also there remains no better closer than Billy Eugene Self.
Yeah any other additions would be walk on types. Revshare is tapped.
@SlimShaddy54 yeah itās mostly there. Itās a full go to tear down right after the season.
Latest update I have is the east side plans arenāt totally finalized yet but the most likely outcome is no suites, but does have a club level (think Arrowhead). The contractors are done 8/1 then KUAD does the finishing touches.
Also $2.8 billion in backpay for athletes dating back to 2016.
Yeah itās just transcript issues with Dessert. My sister was responsible for transcript evals when she was in athletics and always said international SAs were pains in the ass to get cleared.
When the House settlement finally happens all the collectives will RIP. NIL deals will be run through Delloiteās clearinghouse and AD contributions will be capped.
@dylans yes, but itās not done yet
Letās Boogie
Swain says KU likes its chances still. Thereās a ways to go yet.
JJ is good with KU
I donāt think thereās anything to the HCIW thing
@approxinfinity the Spurs already hired Popās replacement so yeah 0%

@Texas-Hawk-10 20-21 was the Covid year so it doesnāt count either
So in theory he has 2 more year of eligibility?
I still think just one because heās played 3 years of D1 ball that count:
20-21 - Covid, doesnāt count
21-22 - JuCo, doesnāt count(?)
22-23: WVU
23-24: WVU
24-25: OSUSo heād need the JuCo year to not count too. Weird situation.
The JuCo seasons no longer counting towards eligibility is why Diggy is playing at Maryland next season instead of being out of eligibility which should mean Suemnick still has two more seasons of eligibility then.
Thereās no world where he has two left. Heās already played 3 D1 seasons that count.

@dylans I think theyād win that one, I donāt see the antitrust violation there. The rest of the suits seem pretty open and shut Sherman violations.
It would take the NCAA changing rules. Right now if you stay in the draft your eligibility is over.
The other night I watched a Dame to Kill For. Good movie. Also Dame watch is ON
@Texas-Hawk-10 20-21 was the Covid year so it doesnāt count either
@Texas-Hawk-10 Covid year
Bill was also in Cancun for most of last week so not a lot of recruiting was going on lol
@Texas-Hawk-10 the WVU series at the end of the season looms large
@SlimShaddy54 also Gradey Dick in the house
The Hog is cranked tonight. Crazy turnaround from the days when you could wander in any time and get a good seat
@wissox Tim is a great reporter. He was raised in the church then worked for National Review and The Atlantic.
Thatās a bummer. Those 12 personnel sets wouldāve feasted.
Iāll be at the Mizzou game Tuesday! #CRANKTHEHOG
