@globaljaybird I know right - its a joke. The KU Baylor game is much bigger than a couple of teams that are middle of the pack in the ACC. Try first row sports

@drgnslayr it would be big for us if either Svi or Devonte stayed. We could really use some experience for next year.

@Crimsonorblue22 right, but only if we are in danger of losing. If we maintain a 5-10 point lead through the second half, then there is no need to switch.

@drgnslayr I think your view on zone defense is pretty accurate. M2M is entirely predicated on how well guys can guard one on one. If they can't then M2M isnt for them.

I want Bill to go to it when he has to, but only then. If we can get a W tonight, Saturday and our two road games next week with M2M, then do it. I feel as though we should only use it to throw our opponent off guard at critical moments, such as in an elite eight game. I know this team has the potential to be a really good zone team, but the element of surprise is always something to consider. Now if we are down ten tonight and we can't get a stop, then of course we try something different. But until then, I say only use it situationally.

I think if Frank continues to have these 20+ point games with low turnover numbers and runs the team as he has been, he has to be the front runner for NPOY. He is definitely getting a lot of support from members of the media, and deservedly so.

@KUSTEVE good point - I don't recall anyone else having that tough of a schedule. Winning 2 of 3 would be pretty good.

@KUSTEVE I feel you man. I would like to think that people wouldnt be out to get the program but there are ALWAYS bad apples in any given barrel. The team's toughness and poise is definitely being tested and they will become a closer unit because of it.

@drgnslayr yeah there is a lot of stuff we don't see. From hearing Bill talk, I think he views Frank as the leader despite his non vocal nature.

@Crimsonorblue22 agreed about Bennett being a good fit. I would be fine with him, Jay Wright or Billy Donovan.

@drgnslayr I agree about the pace, but we should save a little something special for our trip to Wacko, like full court press, etc. We obviously need to win tonight, but the game at their place is important also.

Yeah, cryclone fans are definitely frustrated with his coaching and recruiting. If he doesnt pick it up next year, he will most likely be gone. You never know, if Hoiberg gets canned at Chicago, the fans will be calling to rehire him.

@Kcmatt7 yes. They fronted the ball side post man with a guard with a big behind which makes the entry pass very tough.

We should be able to beat Baylor at home playing normal man to man. They are not a high scoring explosive team like kentucky or carolina and they resemble Baylor teams from the past several years that we have beat. I think we should save the zone for down the road in crunch time, not for a home game.

@Kcmatt7 that's interesting because I also heard that Nova couldn't contain Carolina's fleet of skilled bigs because they weren't tall enough...we all know how that turned out.

If I were Self, I wouldn't use the zone until th tournament, like in the elite eight. Iirc he only used the triangle and two once during the regular season before Carolina in 2012.

I think speeding Baylor up is one of the keys. Pressing occasionally is not a bad idea but we dont want to show too much because our return trip to Wacko is two and a half weeks out.

@wissox yeah that was close. Not having Fox to create on offense and guard Frazier was big. Good for us that they won.

@nuleafjhawk basically what Kcmatt said. We did not look good against KSU, OSU, TCU and Texas. Focus and energy levels just from a visual perspective have not looked good all year except for a few times. But none of the that matters right now. Now is the time to come together as a team and become a contender.

I said it before, but you don't get prizes or extra brownie points for looking like a contender in November. The time to play your best is middle/late February and into March.

@Crimsonorblue22 I have read that too and it is a possibility. Of course, the NBA has a lot of drama queens and whiny babies, so its not like it is a stress free zone. Hopefully this stuff will blow over soon and we can all get back to thinking solely about the game and not this crap.

@wissox evidence? Videos? Statements to police? Witnesses? Police report? Again, if this really happened, this girl would have to be downright insane for not going to the police. This is not news unless there is real evidence which there has not proven to be.

@kjayhawks cant say for sure he did. If this girls story is true, she would have gone to the police or someone from the university would have reported it.

@kjayhawks Self has never done anything to indicate that he lets stuff slide. He didnt with Brady, Tyshawn and Carlton.

@autohawk never have. If something actually happened, the police would have been involved, not some division at the university that I bet most people have never heard of.

I think the coaching staff needs to assign chaperones or something for our guys so that it will end these allegations. For petes sake this is like a freakin soap opera. That might sound drastic but this is getting quite old.

So the university investigated it and not the police? Never heard of that before. My dad and I are talking about it and this story sounds like %1000 bull crap.
