@Crimsonorblue22 exactly. They are good offensively but they aren't Carolina or UCLA. It all starts with good individual defense. A good shooting day will also be necessary.

All of Baylor fans think they can win and just about all of them think they will win in Wacko. I know our guys are capable of more than what they have shown lately and I am expecting Self to have them fired up and ready. This would be a huge win for our conference rave and a one seed.

@Crimsonorblue22 yes Baylor is not a fast team by any means. Play solid like we did second half at UK and we win.

@HighEliteMajor typically media bias. They would rather talk about Puke scraping by against a mediocre Wake Forest team than a big showdown between two top five teams. Embarrassing for them.

@BeddieKU23 yeah, UNC could still get a one due to them having a relatively easy schedule - they don't have to play at FSU or Louisville. I personally would prefer that as I wouldnt want to be in the same bracket with them.

@DCHawker yeah, UNC and UCLA have not done themselves any favors the last couple weeks for seeding. UNC could wind up with five or six losses before the tourney and at best get a two seed. I personally don't see Gonzaga losing before the tourney and Villanova has a similar chance. I am not sold on Baylor winding up with a one seed but maybe they can. They have to play us twice, go to Tech, ISU and Oklahoma State - I am seeing two or three losses in there considering that they almost lost to both OSU and ISU on their home floor.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Coleby had a put back dunk last night - I'm not certain that is considered "below the rim".

@stoptheflop Josh has done a superb job of filling Perry's role. To me, it looks like the two do similar things, particularly in driving from the top of the key or pick and pops. Couldn't have asked for a better player

Yes, still a long ways to go but this win was huge for our resume. If we end up 16-2 in conference and win the conference tourney, I don't think there is any reason for us not getting a one seed. Might get away with 15-3 but lets just win 'em all and don't worry about!

My dinner aside, here's to the game.

We were all disappointed about the effort our guys had the last eight minutes of the WVU game, and rightfully so. Then again, we always seem to lose composure at Morgantown. But losses just happen and they happen every year to every single team.

This win is a great signature win for our guys and is the first step in securing a one seed. Now, they have to take care of business at home against Baylor and Iowa State, which would mean beating two top five teams in five days - pretty good.

It came at little surprise to me that coach decided to play Dwight and I thought he played pretty well considering that this was his first game action in several weeks on the road against a top ten team. If Carlton comes back, I hope coach doesnt put Dwight back in the freezer. He has pretty good size, experience and just needs a little game action to get back in the groove. I think a combination of Landen, Dwight and Carlton would get the job done just fine and would help provide a few extra minutes of rest for our perimeter players.

As much as I know it pained coach, I am so glad he went to the zone and shook things up a bit. I thought our guys were pretty tough defensively, moved their feet, forced Kentucky into some tough shots and didnt allow Kentucky a bunch of easy points in transition. As I said earlier, playing a zone every once in a while is nothing to be embarrassed about. Remember, Nova used the zone along with man on their title run last year, which really helped neutralize their lack of size against North Carolina. The zone is something that Self needs to keep working on with the guys in case we need it. Who knows - might need it against Baylor.

We are starting to get into the time of the season in which Self's experienced teams start to play their best - typically the beginning or middle of February. We have the upperclassmen and experience to get through this tough stretch and clear it and finish 7-1, with an overall record of 25-2. Guys like Frank, Landen and Devonte have already gone through enough in the previous seasons to not realize what they need to do and what mindset is required to win these upcoming games.

What I like is we still arent playing at our potential yet here we are in a good spot with resume building wins on the doorstep. After tonight, I like our chances.

@drgnslayr playing zone is nothing to be ashamed of. We have been talking about Nova last year - they utilized the zone brilliantly to beat us and the formidable front line of North Carolina. I hope Bill uses both from now on. It could come in handh

I am proud of the guys. They were poised and mature and played like the upperclassmen that they are. Everyone was so worried about Kentucky inside but we didnt let them. Great game.
