@KUSTEVE good point. If we shoot our average, that game is a blowout and we also beat Indiana with an average shooting night.

Except for poor defensive positioning that led to fouls, Landen played better than in previous games. Our bigs HAVE to adjust to the refs. Why they haven't figured this out yet is perplexing.

The big 12 is just as good as last year as a whole. I think we can secure a one seed if we win the conference regular season and tournament. WVU picked up a great win yesterday, but that is not the same Virginia team as last year - last year WVU got smoked at Madison Square Garden by Virginia. ISU, again, is primarily a jump shooting team but they are playing very good defense this year, more so than in previous years. Baylor will be the toughest challenge this year - if our bigs figure out how to defend without fouling, I think a W at Waco is a real possibility.

@kjayhawks agreed about the fouls - avoiding foul trouble is our issue right now. I am sure the coaching staff is helping them with how to prevent it.

@globaljaybird our big guys were better today. As we have been going through the year, certain areas have been improving. First it was rebounding, now that is better. Then it was three point shooting, now everybody is on fire. The last and biggest challenge is getting smart play from the Big guys. Took a step forward today

Baylor also is good but their only real win this year is Loserville. Oregon is not the same as last year and what has Xavier done in the last two years to deserve a top ten ranking?

@Lulufulu the weakness stems from unsmart play and being out of position. All the bigs need to do is stay vertical, move their feet, rotate faster and don't fall for ball fakes. Those are the main errors right now. Correct those and it changes everything

I thought Carlton did a better job of putting himself in positions to score. Sometimes, he just roams around the perimeter or rolls into the paint on a pick and roll. A couple times he rolled wider like Perry did and made a jumper. Also had a good post move. Need more of that

Have not been impressed with Xavier the last few years. Not a legit top ten team

@DoubleDD then stop fouling. Boy I hope the guys play smarter as the season goes along. Has nothing to do with physical limitations.

You have to adjust to how the game is being called - anything else is unacceptable. Move your feet, keep your hands up and make him make a tough shot over the top. When people talk about our bad post play, it is because Landen and Carlton don't play smart all the time.

There is a whistle every other time down the floor. We have succeeded in turning Travis into the all American that he isnt
