I truly enjoyed watching Wiggins play at KU and I am also enjoying Josh play now. They are both gifted athletes, Wiggins already a star in the NBA and Josh on his way. Each one has strengths and weaknesses but above all they are both lifetime Jayhawks who along withe Embiid, the twins, Oubre, Withey, Aldrich, Arthur, TRob, Ben, Tarick, Collison, The Truth and Brandon Rush (who is playing a lot more not that Lavine is out for the season) represent KU very well. It is likely that in the near future Mario or Kirk will also be playing and hopefully Perry, Selden and Green...and Xavier can also make it (back) to the League. Hopefully I did not miss anyone.
Was Doke able to get a medical red shirt of some sort or did he lose one entire season?
Opposite situation. OU will be playing at home and with house money...nothing to lose...
If he is as good as advertised, the first year he builds his body and gets acclimated and the second year he stars and then he is gone to the NBA.
An excellent defense with a good offense?
The WVU-OU game is in Norman and OU has already beat WVU in Morgantown...
The NCAA is all about match ups and a good amount of luck. A bad match up and you are gone...remember Stanford?
Correct. It was all over talk radio in the KC area yesterday. I thought about creating a thread just for this but decided against it since we have had enough politics already. Having said that, I wish the politicians would stay out of sports altogether...they have enough other things to screw up,
E-MEOW...them kitties are though...:smiley_cat:
If both can win it would be even better...
The football crazy state of Oklahoma becomes college basketball ground zero this evening with WVU playing at OU and Baylor at Oklahoma State. The results of these two games could well decide the outcome of the conference.
Yep, that was the game. UCLA is doing well but if they get matched up in the NCAA with good defensive teams, it might not make it past the first weekend.
Texas barely beat an ISU team that played very poorly. Also, by the end of the game Texas had only 3 fouls (sounds familiar?) with under 23 and 4 with 7 seconds left in the game and ahead by 2 so they were able to foul twice and forced ISU to inbound the ball and waste time and never had a good look to take a decent shot to tie or win.
I did not see the entire game but looks like very few fouls were called; with 23 second left in the game it was 20-11 in favor of Texas.
Wasn't there a college players that score an unreal number of points not too long ago? I think this type of games are a sham because all they do is get the ball past mid-court and chuck a 3 and play no defense because the emphasis is getting the ball back as soon as possible. This is the way the Early 80s Denver Nuggets were and they either missed the playoffs or did not make it past the first round.
I don't believe players like that are suited to play in elite teams with balanced talent; they are better suited for a small program where they are allowed to fire away and no one cares how much they score. Look at the UCLA team now, they are ranked pretty low in defense (#117} and the emphasis is in scoring (#1); it would never fly at KU..
There you go...new car it is...
Why? You have hit the mother load of spousal capital, one more OT and you are in new Harley Davidson territory...let it ride and enjoy it...π
Congrats. You have earned yourself major capital...use it wisely or save for the time when she tells you screwed up big time...and yes, that time will come.π
I am not so sure about that...some of the Junior HS in my area can hold a couple of thousand fans...maybe you meant couldn't?
I believe Mason's last 5 point were from the FT line so he would likely have been much better than that at that point.. My point was that regardless of what he was shooting there is no way his game was sub-par at any time during the game.
I really used to like Fran but in the last few years he as turned into a real di#k.
Fran Fraschilla...college basketball's version of baseball's Joe Buck...
Did anyone caught when Fran said Mason was having a sub-par game? At the time he had 15 points with 8-9 minutes left in the game and on track to get his Conference leading ppg average.
Just a hypothetical...when I saw that Arena I though it was MU at halftime. :smirk:
Agreed. Also, it might be counter productive to have too many alpha dogs...
If it was MU you would move to court-side seats...
They are first in line for the NIT NIT...Not Invited to the NIT...
The score box should have a place for Weber...playing time: 40 minutes and zeros across the rest of the stats. There were several occasion when he was just about touching the 3 point line. He should have been Td several times.
...with the caption...How do you like them apples...
In business we have an expression that goes...don't work harder, work smarter. Someone should let Bruce in on the secret...π€‘
So many bad calls. The one on Josh is the one Fran said he was inside the arc and ESPN would not show a replay since it would have made Fran Look like the fool he is.
In this comment, Bruce does his usual throwing one of his players under the bus...
On Kamau Stokes shot selection at the end of the gameβ¦
"He is a good 3-point shooter. He is one of our better percentages. He made big shots the other day. I think sometimes he has to depend on his teammates. Sometimes it is your shot, sometimes there is a better shot. I just do not think we made the better play or the extra pass to get the better shot. I think it goes back to the assists.
Right back at you. Have a peaceful night's rest.
Very satisfying win...I think I will have a shot of Chivas to celebrate.
The conference should seriously do something about Weber stepping on the court; at time he was just about stepping on the paint...
I called 76-72 and KU to cover the 2-1/2 spread...close enough...
The natives are restless and the sheep scared...
BIFM
Getting ready to give KSU a final push...
Still no rebounding...
16-6 foul differential
Is over the back no longer called?
STfU Fran
They need to T Weber, he is almost to the paint
13-5 foul differential
You gotta be kidding me...
Fran is seriously annoying me...
Ok...here we go...
Live stat are displaying the KSU version that sucks. The KU version is much better.
Is this the least FT called in one half for an opponent? 3 fouls seems hard to believe when they can call that many every time DJ backs to the basket.
That was a bs foul that is why they did not show a replay that would prove Fran wrong.
