Yahoo/NBC Sports ↗ does not think he will be playing at KU or anywhere.
I read every word you wrote and it is absolutely fascinating. Why is this book so well hidden? It certainly presents a different and plausible alternate narrative to the official version of events. I need to get a copy and read it, time permitting.
What a nice surprise the lady's volley Ball program has been in the last few years. The have now established themselves as a to tier program and hopefully they can keep it at that level for a long time.
My son was born right after midnight so I believe great things can and do happen after midnight. Perhaps I would rephrase to...the ratio of bad to good things increases dramatically after midnight.
Here is one that is true...there are many reasons why the Police shows up at your hone in the middle of the night...and most of them are bad.
After DeAndre Ayton picked Arizona over KU no prospect is a lock until he sign the LOI and even then things can happen and the prospect might never play. He only sure thing is that there is no sure thing.

Even if they are wrong, isn't it up to the President to forcibly clarify that he does not stand for them, that this is libel of the worst kind, and that he hates everything they stand for.
Here are the President's full remarks ↗ as posted by USA Today, which I am sure you would consider a valid source.
What else can he say that he has not already? Doesn't his statement says exactly what you said it should?
The bar tab thing turned out to be a big nothing burger.
No, this is not at all what I am saying. What I am saying is that if we are going to remove statues/monuments/memorials of high profile racist people, we should be consistent and consider all the high profile racist people, regardless of affiliation, and not just the ones that fit the agenda.
I just saw that the Reverend Al Sharpton now wants to remove the Jefferson Memorial, one of the landmarks of our country; do you think we should do it?
No, I do not. Here is an article ↗ from the Huffington Post, a source that is high in the list of approved liberal sources, and it lists Andrew Johnson as the most racist president.
Here is another list ↗ that has him at #3
Here is another ↗ that has him at #1
This one ↗ form the African Globe has him as #1 as well.
Andre Jackson was also a racist according to the lists above.
I enjoy history and I was familiar most of the names on the various lists although some of the details were foggy. At my age, I don't remember details as well as I used to; thank God for the Internet.
Holy smokes, the Big 12 with 8 teams? A conference sending 80% of it teams would be unprecedented.
Actually the City of Chicago did not initially deny the permit but requested a huge public peace insurance bond that was prohibitive and for all purposes amounted to a ban and then banned all demonstration on Marquette part where the original Rally was scheduled. That was the origin of the litigation and why the ACLU sided with the Nazis.
Now that we are in this age of tearing down racist symbols, has anyone called about taking down the memorials and renaming all the buildings, schools and roads named after former Ku Klux Klan Exalted Cyclops Robert Byrd who was head of the Senate?
How about William Fulbright who along with 99 democrat (and 2 republicans) signed “Southern Manifesto” in 1956. which declared their opposition to the Supreme Court’s decision in Brown v. Board of Education and lead the 83 days filibuster of the Civil Rights Act of 1964?
This is what Bill Clinto had to say when he eulogized his mentor and Arkansas senator:
We come to celebrate and give thanks for the remarkable life of J. William Fulbright, a life that changed our country and our world forever and for the better. . . . In the work he did, the words he spoke and the life he lived, Bill Fulbright stood against the 20th century’s most destructive forces and fought to advance its brightest hopes.
I don't recall any liberal calling him a racist or asking him to resign.
How about Andrew Johnson who was Lincoln's vice president and selected uniquely to get votes in the South to win re-election and instituted a number of discriminatory codes at the constitutional convention and made the post-war South exactly like it was before the Civil war and created a war aftyre the the civil war in which a large number of black people lost their lives resisting his racist policies, He is universally considered the most racist president.
Or James Monroe that created the racist Monroe doctrine that was used to meddle into the affairs of other countries. Remember that during his term the US seized a strip of West Africa and established the firt American Colony there that was later called Liberia.
Or FDR who interned 100,000 Japanese in prisons during WWII but not Italians or Germans. After the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, he invited American athletes to the White House but not 4 gold medal winner Jesse Owens who wast the star of the games because he was also black. He started the New Deal but purposefully left out farmers and domestic which were overwhelmingly black at that time.
Or maybe Woodrow Wilson that re-segregated the federal government. Black Federal workers were fired and the ones left were forced to use separate facilities. He unapologeticly backed what he called the “great Ku Klux Klan,” and championed the Klan’s violent disenfranchisement of southern African Americans in the late 19th century. He oversaw the brutal 2 decade occupation of Haiti and prevented the country from self-governing. Some people at Princeton, where he was political scientist, have now called for review of his record.
Or Lyndon Johnson who routinely used the N-word when talking about black people...
What do these ubber racist politician have in common? You tell me.
What about statues that honor confederate soldiers that fought in the civil war? I am not talking about the leaders like Lee or Jackson but just plain soldiers, marines and sailors.
Instead of taking down the statues, wouldn't it be better, like others, have suggested, to add another monument next to it explaining the difference? History cleansing has been tried many times but has it ever worked anywhere? Even Germany has saved the concentration camps and now they are museums used to educate people.
Is this what we have to look forward ↗?
Where does it stop? There are already calls to take down a George Washington statue in Chicago and a few other places. However, I have not heard any calls to take down the Lenin statue in Seattle...go figure.
We are starting a dangerous slippery slope that might result in unanticipated consequences.
There is one kid that is committed and taking things seriously. I hope he has BIFM like season.
I still like the baseball rule. You can go to the MLB directly from HS but if you choose to got to college you have to wait 3 years which gives the student athlete a chance to get most of his school work done and if necessary, come back to complete the school work and get a degree.
With 3/4 of the season done, a good showing against Cleveland might set the tone for the rest of the season. 9 of the next 12 games are at home and the 3 road games are at Cleveland. The Royals are only half a game off a wild card spot and going , say 4-2, against Cleveland would place them in a good place for the final stretch and a playoff spot. The last 3 games against Cleveland are in September and on the road.
I am not sure if you noticed that this incident happened in Memphis; Overton Square is an entertainment district in Memphis similar to the Power an Light district in KC. When I first glanced at the article my first thought was Louise's in Lawrence.
Lawson had denied the incident and CBS Sports has a report with his statement ↗ and it indicates that Lawson story appear to be more right than wrong.
More importantly, were the drink alcohol? I believe he will turn 20 in October so he is obviously underage and should not be drinking alcohol. This kid needs to get his act together and realize the opportunity he was given or he will not or should not be playing at KU
As it was explained to me the waiver is not granted to the student but to the school. Robinson can enroll in any school he chooses without checking with the NCAA but to play for the school team, the school has to get a waiver to allow him to play in the team. This is different than initial eligibility where hundreds of thousands of players submit their information to the NCAA and they get cleared (or not) to play, much like Robinson was already cleared. The reason for this is because transfer is different than starting fresh somewhere and the NCAA wants to make sure the requesting school did not have any improper involvement in said transfer. The rules are in place to make sure things are done above board and on an level playing field; in the absence of said rules there would chaos.
Now, the rules themselves are there and well defined but they require input that sometimes is not readily available or not forthcoming, in this case it would be how long did he attend the previous school? Did he and how extensively practiced with team? Was he officially accepted and enrolled? Did he get financial aid? Was he contacted by other school or schools? and so on. Like all rules, they are of course subject to interpretation by humans and that interpretation is not always objective...depending on what side of the issue you sit.
Once Robinson picks a school, at this time I have no reason to think that a ruling from the NCAA would not come shortly after all the information is submitted. Remember that the the NCAA has to at least keep the appearance that college is the place where people go to get an education and a degree and also play sports and not just a pit stop on the way to pro-sports...right...
I simply posted a link sent to my by an acquaintance and I did not endorse or verify its authenticity and added...IF it is true...and suggested you draw your own conclusions, right?
Let me preface my comments by stating categorically that all racism. both from the left and the right, is bad and has no place in our society. Professional race baiters like Jesse Jackson say that black people or minorities cannot be racists, this is bs, racism knows no color only hatred and should be condemned and rejected in all forms and flavors. Racism is racism regardless who the racist is.
Ok, let's see what we know so far....
A group of despicable people decide to have a march to protest the proposed removal of confederate statues. I will not debate the merits of their case as this could be the subject of another thread. A hateful as their ideology is, they are still entitled to peacefully demonstrate/march since we are still a country of laws and the precedent was set when Nazis decide to march in Skokie, Illinois and were denied a permit The case called National Socialist Party of America v. Village of Skokie was litigated for the Nazis by none othre than the ACLU, two lower courts refused to stay the ban and the case ended up at the Supreme Court which ruled that it was protected free speech and the Supreme Court of Illinois reviewed the case and granted permission, or as lawyers would say...stare decisis.
Now, the group in question applied for and received all the necessary permits well in advance and the city and the City and state Police had plenty of time to plan to make sure it would be done in a safe manner.
Now, the day of the march a large number of the so called antifas congregated with the only purpose of creating a disturbance. Interesting that the use the word antifas which is short for anti fascists when in fact they are the text book definition of a fascist, a person that uses violence to silence anyone that does not share his ideology.
This came as no surprise and the police was aware of what was going on. As I understand, the standard procedure, when two rival groups are headed for a confrontation, is to create a buffer zone and keep both groups as separate as possible. This did not happen and there are videos all over social media showing the confrontation with police standing by. I find it hard to believe that with all the lead time it had, the police was unable to prevent the confrontation. Now CNN is reporting ↗ that both side are blaming the police; the narrative is not that different than that of the original link...is CNN a credible enough source or do I have to dressed it up with pigeon crap?
if you read the MSM reports, you would think that the marchers were fighting among themselves because there is hardly any comments on the antifas, which is the group that started the confrontation and violence. Where is the condemnation of the antifas? They have been doing this time and again, recently at Berkley University where they cause millions of dollars of damages to private property and yet not any condemnation of them by the MSM or the liberal establishment.
@mayjay I would like you to tell me exactly what is "the filth spewed by the president," as you put it? He condemned both sides in no uncertain terms and left no doubt he does not condone or support the White supremacist or the Alt-right or the Alt-left for that matter. Remember that the KKK was created by democrats party which has a long history of racism. ↗
Interesting that both former presidents Bush issued an statement ↗ that was praised by the MSM without realizing that it was almost identical to the one Trump issued before.
@Crimsonorblue22 you said you googled the FOX reported that had the first hand view of this and indicate it was not correct. Looks like you did not look hard enough as the entire videos is readily available including on YouTube.
You can listen to the entire recording and you will see that it is just as described in the original link. At least he did not get beat up by the antifas likethis CBS journalist ↗ did.
There is no question that both groups used violence and both share the blame and this is why the President condemned both sides. Note that despite the avalanche of criticism by the MSM , the mother of the woman killed released a statement ↗ thanking Trump and many other organization stated support including a group of Black Christian leaders ↗ and even MLK's niece.
Remember when 5 police officers were killed in Houston and 3 more a few days later in Baton Rouge? When Obama took his time to make a statement the MSM media wrote he was being cautious and taking his time to get all the facts and when he did, he did not condemn the blacks racists/extremists that did the killing, instead blamed the Police. I am sure @mayjay has a post showing his outrage at Obama.
The truth is that regardless of what Trump would have said, the MSM would have found fault and still would have blamed him for the killings like they are doing it now. Funny, they did not blame Obama for these killings ↗ that happened on his watch. How is this for a double standard.
I believe that both sides, the Alt-right/KKK/White Supremacists and the Alt-Left/Antifas are equally despicable and they both represent everything I despise. If you knew me personally or my background, you would understand why. Please, do not try to label me as one or the other or question my intentions and don't jump to conclusions. Open your minds, do some research, don't believe everything the MSM feeds you and come up with your own conclusions and be tolerant of others who do not share your philosophy. I have tried to be as objective as I can and present a balanced view with sources when applicable. All the links I posted are available from numerous other sites (both right and left) and have been pretty well scrutinized and verified...and I believe they all work.
Last, I will list this link ↗ I got from friend in Australia who is a software developer I have known for many years and who also dabbles on homeopathic medicine, natural food, big anti pharma and publishes a weekly newsletter where the story was; very interesting reading and eye opening and explains a lot. Perhaps some member will relate to it.
I will post this link ↗ and let you draw your own conclusions. Very troubling if true.

Not as far fetched a one would think...
@mayjay Links have been verified and are working.
Is a full scholarship too high of a price to play for a practice player if he will not be cleared and he is bound and determined to be a OAD? I would say yes.
KU can probably get some former players such as Pollard, Simien , Gooden or currently unemployed Jeff Withey to come and practice with the bigs for a lot less than the cost of a full scholarship.
...but the babies would be smart and beautiful...
...but...would that environment prepare him at all for the draft and NBA? If he wants to get the best training for the next level, New Orleans is not it, KU is.
I wonder if Lew Perkins will be invited...after all, without him KU does not go to the to the Orange Bowl.
It could be Tulane...if he is considering Tulane or New Orleans, then he is wanting a place where he will be the star and have guaranteed playing time, something he will not get at KU. If that is his attitude, and I am not saying it is, just thinking aloud...does KU really want him?
Jerry Meyer had a video blog on Facebook earlier and I caught part of it. The highlight are.
No recent news on Robinson but if he is playing college ball at all it will be KU.
Dotson- A bigger more developed version of Frank Mason at similar stages but without the outside shot that he will develop in college.
Zion Williamson - Freakish athlete. He played very weak competition in HS and his AAU team was not very good. Many consider him a tweener and at KU he might play the 3 or the 4 like Jackson did. Being the poster boy for Adidas gives KU an advantage.
KU offers to more people than other blue blood schools and hence it looks like it misses on many but in the end it does just fine. This time around KU is well ahead and better positioned than other years.
No inside scoop at all or anything that we have not heard before.
That is one cool night to remember. Enjoy retirement.🍾
If you go back 50 years, only 20 teams have won the NCAA and even if you go to the very beginning of the NCAA tournament, only 37 teams have done it, so the tournament would have about 330 eligible teams if you go back 50 years or 313 if yo go back to the beginning. A little unpractical one would think.
Perhaps it should be limited to teams that have never made it to the tournament itself then the number might be more manageable.
Don't forget Michael Beasley, I seem to recall he was co-player of the year with Hansbrough and at the time KSU also had Walker and other good players.
So...if Gonzaga decides to really load up on the imports, gets the best Canadian, Australian and Euro players and wins the NCAA 5 years in a row, would the WCC become the best and strongest conference? Just sayin'...
If you have a high end mower it might be worth it to do an engine rebuild. You can pick up kit for not a lot of money and if you can do the work yourself it might be worth it. Lots of YouTube videos to help; a decent weekend afternoon project.
I guess we will find out soon enough. In my opinion the bottom 3-4 teams in the Big 12 are better than the bottom 3 teams in the ACC.
Thanks. I will test every link from now on.
I believe the behavior of the link paste option has changed rcently and it varies when I use the PC and the IPad. I used to select a word or words, click the link and the link holder would be highlighted and I could just paste the link but now it either adds a letter or the close parenthesis at the end is deleted; I can normally see in the right panel if the link is displaying in blue. Oh well...I will test from now on to make sure it is correct. Thanks for letting me know.
Here is a good summary ↗ of the Mitchell Robinson situation
We really don't know what he has been asked to do by the coaching staff so it is hard to tell how biased or unbiased his stats are. Apparently the team believes he is a super star and is willing to pay him accordingly; money talks very loudly.
I would like you to cite one source that indicates the ACC is strong top to bottom; you will not be cause it isn't. Every season, the ACC consistently has a 2 or 3 very good to elite teams, a few more good teams and then the quality drops a lot with the bottom 4-5 being well below average; remember that the ACC has 15 teams. The Big 12 consistently has one elite team, KU, a few very good teams and the rest are above average to good with an occasional bad team; there are no days off in the conference as all of the top teams have lost to lower rankled teams. With TCU and TTU coming strong and Texas having good returning and incoming talent, there will be no poor team in the conference next season...may be KSU? As a conference, there is no question that top to bottom the Big 12 is at the top.
You make it sound like the Big 12 goes and plays chumps in the non-con schedule; this is not the case; the non-con SOS and record for the conference is consistently at the top. The computerized ranking systems look at the entire strength of schedule for every team and then it is factored into the rankings. The Big 12 beats the SEC head to head and keep in mind that all 10 team from the Big 12 play and only the top 10 teams in the SEC play and the bottom 4 teams do not play. Before that, the Big 12 beat the PAC 12 head to head several years in a row .The Big 12 has finished ranked in the top 2 for several years now.
I would encourage you to go to the Sagarin, Pomeroy or Massey sites or any other that uses an objective system and look at how the number are calculated. I believe you will be surprised.
Again, you don't have to take my word, look at all the conference rankings, do your own research and then present a justification for your premise, fair enough?
Just my opinion...
Non-compete clauses have to be very specific and are notoriously difficult to enforce, if at all.
Actually, a non-compete clause would not even apply because in the NBA he would not be competing against KU. Now, if he transfers, KU can list (and other schools have done this before) schools where he could not transfer since he would be competing against KU. as a condition for granting his release. While the school can legally withhold granting his release, the negative publicity trumps letting him go. Remember when Uthoff wanted to leave Wisconsin" target="blank" rel="noopener">http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story//id/7833426/jarrod-uthoff-wisconsin-badgers-lift-transfer-restrictions-big-ten) ↗ and Bo Ryan came up with big list of schools he could no contact? Eventually the backlash and bad press forced Wisconsin to restrict transfer only to other conference schools.
I don't believe Robinson would want to sit another year and transfer to a competing school, so the non-compete clause is moot.
The main difference between KU and teams like Duke, Kentucky and UNC is that KU has been remarkably consistent, even after full rebuilds; the same cannot be said about the other teams.
UNC and UK, with all the talent available, have missed tournaments in the last 13 years and Duke has finished as low as 6th in the ACC and 5th the last two season. Would you believe that the last time Duke won the ACC Conference was in 2009-2010 (shared) and before that it was 2005-2006. Since the 2000 season, duke has won the ACC conference title only 4 times...so much for the mighty Duke. UNC has a better record having won the Conference 8 times in the last 14 years since Coach Williams took over.
The Big 12 has had one elite team, KU, and a bunch of solid-to-elite teams from top to bottom at different times. The ACC has 4-5 team that are consistently good but the rest of the League is weak. UNC missed a tournament and could not even win the NIT. The SEC has Kentucky, that missed a tournament and proceeded to lose to Bobby MO in the NIT (KU has not sank to that level on long time} and Florida and several team that are good one year and not so good the next. For the last several years, the Big 12 has been ranked as one of the top two conferences by most of the publication that objectively compute rankings including Sagarin, Pomeroy and Massey among others; saying that the Big 12 is not strong is factually incorrect and diminishes what KU has accomplished.
The premise that other teams could have done what KU has is highly hypothetical and could or could not have happened...KU's streak has happened and is still active and more importantly, IT IS REAL, not hypothetical or fictional.
Europe is not what is used to be for American players and opportunities not as plentiful, particularly for an inexperienced player like Robinson. More likely destinations are Australia, New Zealand and China, although I understand that living and playing in China is a very trying experience and players cannot wait to leave; Europe can be equally as bad. Former ISU player Paul Shirley wrote a blogs for ESPN titled "My So-Called Career" that describes in vivid detail the trials and tribulation of playing in Europe; eye opening and not what you would expect. Michael Beasley was the League MVP in China and after two stints there he said he rather take his chances in the Summer League with the hope of latching on to a NBA team even it is is for the minimum rather than going back to China" he played for the Rockets and the Bucks in the last couple of years and now he signed with the Knicks for the veteran minimum.
I read the three schools are Duke, UCLA and USC. Looks like he likes California so it does not look good for Duke.
Would that make you a head case?
The Royals were project to finish 4th in the division and between 18 and 21 overall in the pre-season rankings, see here" target="blank" rel="noopener">http://www.espn.com/mlb/story//page/2017mlbpowerrankings_week1/ranking-mlb-teams-ahead-2017-season) ↗ and here ↗.
They sit now in third place in the Division ↗ and only 1/2 game from 2nd, 4th in the AL ↗ and 14 overall ↗. So far, they are well ahead of the prediction. Not bad for a below average manager.
If Yost is a below average manager then why is he generally ranked in the top 10? Athlon ↗ has him at #9, Sporting News ↗ #8, the Boston Globe ↗ #8...if he were below average, wouldn't he ranked in the 20s and not in the top third of the League?
If not for all the injuries the Royals could have done better las season. While he makes the decisions on the field, do you really think he has the last word on who they keep, get or let go? I think not, otherwise we would still have the bullpen that you and I mentioned; remember...Wader, check please...?
Yost rebuilt the Royals and won 2 AL pennants and 1 World Series and turned the Royals, who were a door mat for close to 30 years, into not just a winning team but a contender. It takes an above average manager to do this, wouldn't you agree?
What we do know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, is Diallo is a better basketball player than Lucas – Diallo is in the NBA. Lucas is playing for the Tokyo Ham Fighters, or whatever the heck they’re called.
After one year of 24-7 training in the D League, Diallo is probably a better player than Lucas, although he still has to show what he can do consistently while playing with the big boys and not in the Debvelopment or Summer Leagues.
Having said that, there is no question that while both were at KU, Diallo was the player with the bigger potential but Lucas was the better basketball player. Nobody wants to win more than the players and they all thought the team was better off with Lucas...can't really argue with that.
I don't believe the owners are colluding or that collusion is even necessary, CK has too many cons that negate any pros he might still have, and from a business perspective, is really a no brainer. You keep looking at it as if it is a decision based on discrimination when in reality it is a business decision based on money like most business decisions are.
Now, I agree that the public seems to have some tolerance for players that commit other crimes but we are talking apples and oranges. By and large, one group involves individuals that committed a crime against another individual and happened one time or a few. CK disrespected something that the majority of the population holds dear and he did day after day after day; you can see that there is a big difference in magnitude and scale, right?
Every team has several players that are "above average" but that will not get you very far. How many of the Royals, other that Salvy (injured) and Moose (this year) and maybe Hoz and Duffy are really elite or close to it? Wade Davis was elite but he is no longer with the Royals, right?
For the personnel the Royals have, most people will agree they have performed at the very least as expected or even overachieved; I believe they have indeed overachieved.
