It was great to see him have big games this year and as you say the tourney play was great. Party on, excellent.
We were in Lunardi's South region until we let ISU come back and beat us.
@KU-Flyer
Hey flyer,
Great story about the coach who got on you so much. Obviously he saw something special in you and did what ever he could to bring it out.
@DCHawker
Actually Omaha is one of many-but I just hope KU travels well. Those ISU folks stormed KC. KU can expect the same of WSU fans.
As far as Thunderdome one thing I liked as a Track and Field athlete.
We both know our best marks to date, and we squared off for that day.
Time and distance (or height). Mano E Mano. Here is my best- beat it or lose. No referees - time or distance rules.
Thanks 22. Since I quoted "man" I think you took that as I meant it as in competition period.
I have a boy and a girl competing in high school at a very competitive level here in Texas. It is nice that her teams get pretty much equal coverage.
Anyway RCJH.
I am thinking of a movie. "Two men enter, one man leaves..."
@Crimsonorblue22
I wanted to see it hit the third row.
And to think Wooden committed to UCLA because a snow storm knocked out telephone lines. A Midwest school ( which escapes me) he wanted to work for could not reach him, he accepted the UCLA offer. When the other school reached him with an offer he felt he could not go back on his word, downed phone lines or not. Not common knowledge in bBall history.
@Crimsonorblue22
Great read 22. Thanks for the education.
@JayHawkFanToo
Cool,
I once worked with NASA on a Space Station project. We had a great technology but they wanted us to buy all the equipment to test it-Like G - Force simulators etc. Long story short it would have cost us over 100k up front resulting in a big net loss IF they even used our stuff.
We turned them down and they said "Don't you want to be able to say your equipment is in space." I told them, "We aren't selling tang here. High G forces and weightless environments aren't much of a market for us."
But I still have the poster they gave me hanging in my son's room.
@jaybate-1.0
Yes, I have noticed. Upvote to come.
Wow, those names are a blast from the past.
Congrats Mr. Floor burns.
He played for one of my all time favorite KU teams-well up until the Arizona game.
GREAT READ.
I was so happy I was still living in KC for that-what a ride-what a great night.
@drgnslayr
Hi slayer,
Sorry I'm late to the discussion on this one. It's a great to experience both sides of the coin. Champs that are the ones to beat vs nobodies that make themselves champs.
I've been in both camps too. They are both great, but for me being a nobody team that wins it all is just a tad sweeter.
As for Self, I think he has been a Jayhawk more than a Cowboy for a long time.
I think the players are motivated as well, but I don't know that ALL of them see these match-ups with a burning desire to beat our foes the way our foes have a burning desire to knock us off our perch.
Happy to see Wayne having a big game-especially under the spotlight.
Great night Wayne.
Great win hawks.
I am on delay DVR here but At 7:10 PM Baylor 00 deliberately Shoved Seldon into Mason going after a loose ball. That is flagrant cr*p and they didn't call anything. I am pissed
After a string of turnovers some great D late in the half. 18 points for Baylor-a season low I heard. Happy with a nice lead at half.
@nuleafjhawk
I was on campus in the 70's for the Texas Relays and it was beautiful then with lots of grass and trees. Now it is mostly buildings and concrete. I do like Austin but I think most Big 12 and SEC campuses are nicer than UT. JMHO
Thanks for the entertainment. I had to watch a game cast in silence here at the desk.
Ya'll made it much better.
This is a test from Crush-a new Jayhawk friend.
@Crimsonorblue22
stay away from straws-they gave me terrible dry sockets once.
@benshawks08 your about half right.
Sports, country, classic rock, conservative talk, Christian, classical.pop.
@benshawks08
If you think that's a funny combo you should check the presets on my car radio. I am all over the place..
And might I add a second vote for Ostertag who posed for a photo with my dad back in the day.
Bud Stallworth-come on down!
Love it. Thanks for the shout out for BMAC. Go Ben.
We can handle them
I've had many a bonehead moment-especially talking to girls. Once in a while I would get something right. Kind of like Princess Leah telling Han Solo "You do have your moments-not many of them but you do have them."
Speaking of Dos Equis. The first time I heard the name was in the 80's when a gal I was hitting on ordered one. I had already had quite a few and didn't really hear the name clearly. It sounded like Doe Sekees but I had quite a buzz going on. The next round I ordered her a suck doocies.
@tundrahok
You've got some creative talent. You should be doing knock-off comercials.
I was wrong??? Where do I start?
@brooksmd
I was at that game with my dad with great seats-paid a ton of cash for the tickets but it was worth it. I remember being worried Psycho-T would explode when Cole went in. It was just the opposite. What a delightful outcome for the minutes he put in.
I bagged on these a while back on another thread. I'd be okay with the waistband itself-that would be one or two inches. These just look bad.
@wissoxfan83
Having a solid commitment (NBA Contract) would even be better for a kid to make a decision but it doesn't look like we are there yet.
@joeloveshawks
This is a great thing for the athletes. as they can make an informed decision. They hear first hand from NBA teams we want you or go back to school.
@globaljaybird
You and I have a few things in common. Never got shot at but three times was bull rushed. I guess they expected me to run? Each time I just stood there letting them have the first shot and each time they stopped a pace away and just talked.
@globaljaybird
I thought is was "donkey chains"
@DanR
The way I figure that is Mizzou has millions more residents than Kansas with near zero competition. Kansas has very few residents and KSU takes a hunk out of the percentage. If you run the numbers on state populations I bet there are some interesting shifts
Overall-football is still king. Next- notice how the SEC ranks high. Florida has pro teams but a big population. Most the other sec don't have pro sports to compete with.
KU has KSU, the Chiefs, the Royals, Mizzou in KC, the race track...
North Carolina has at least 7 million people living there, etc.
@konkeyDong
Believe me I don't do much research compared to many on this site.
Thanks for painting a clearer picture. I don't want to mislead anyone.
I thought we were after Zimmerman.
Second favorite is Barbara Eden. She showed up at a KU game I attended-they put her on the video board and played I Dream of Genie music.
My favorite honorary Jayhawk is Ronnie Regan. Somewhere I have a picture of Danny and the Miracles giving him a KU Letter Jacket at the White House.
@jhawkintexas
My ego is just big enough that I could deliver the same record at half the pay. Please hire me-for 200K.
After all I coached my daughter and her team to a tourney win in 6th grade. Since we only had two ball handlers and had no height we couldn't run an offense-I just had them sprint for a fast break after a defensise rebound.

We needed more than she could deliver.
Good luck where ever you land coach.
@ParisHawk
Thanks for that link. A ton of info at your finger tips. I like that CBS, ESPN, Fox show Yale as a pick. And Texas looks to be safe and sound. I agree I prefer playing Duke over Virginia.
@HawksWin
I need to clarify something. I have never bet on the NCAA tourney unless I was in Vegas-don't even know how to do it otherwise.
Just thinking out loud
Agreed. I seldom bet. I buy tickets for a goof when the lotto gets high, and I made some bests when I was in Vegas for Madness long ago.
BUTT-if I were in Vegas this year I would bet against UK winning it all.
@DanR
You make a very good point. I guess it is all about "minors"
