Lately I've feared KJ getting in foul trouble or teams trying to guard him differently. We've seen Jalen, Gradey & Juan guarded a certain way but not KJ.
At some point there's only so much a team can do to stop a legit 5 man roster with potential scorers at every spot. Kevin may be the only one you can really lay off of at this point, and he still isn't shy shooting it so it could back fire real quick. And even if a team gets really good at denying individuals, that's when having the best coach in the country will turn up in drawing up sets and getting the team into an offense that creates good looks. Saw we rank #2 in the nation on the shot quality rankings, meaning we take good shots better than almost everyone (Purdue was #1).
In order to take away one player, you have to sacrifice somewhere else. That's why we just keep winning games even if they are ugly. Eventually, taking good shots over and over and over again wins out.
Good stuff. I'd like to see Juan step it up this game...make Nowell work on the defensive end.
Last year's game at the Octagon of Crop Judgers- waving bye to the crowd:
27-1 in our last 28. Another national championship in hand. Ranked 2nd in the nation. We lose 4 studs from last year, and new studs come in and fill in admirably. We have extended our all time win total to 9 games over Tucky, after catching them last year . We've routed Missourah the last 2 years. No wonder our critics are crying so much.

I used to love Jack Hartman as a kid. He was a great coach.
It certainly helps being 17-1. There are only 3 ranked teams in college basketball right now with 1 loss, and there are 3 teams in this week's AP rankings with 5 losses. I can easily see us 6-2 in the next 8, if not better.

@jayballer67 My apologies, my friend. I was trying to respond to the troll, and I ended up responding to you on accident. I believe every caution you listed. But, I think K-State is much less adept at defense than an Iowa St. I don't think they have the ability to stop us. I do think our plan is to pressure Nowell 94 feet. I think it will be tough, but I think we come out on top.

We keep eeking out these wins at home, I’m curious to see how we fair in legit road games. As Bill said of the 4-0 teams we by far have had the easiest schedule.

This is a real good game for us to get back to playing great defense. Kind of feel we haven't played with the defensive intensity recently that we showed in non-conf.
The OU game was the worst. We never stopped them. Clones have a crummy offense, so we should be able to shut them down. Now, can we score on them? Their defense is rated 6th in def eff on Kenpom, while we're 14th.
I admit I haven't watched them but a few minutes here and there. I always find them to be boring, and their coach always wears clothes that are about two sizes too small. I can't put my finger on it, but I find their team to be annoying. I'm torn between wanting them to win to remain relevant for the sake of the conference ( when they aren't playing us), or wanting them to get their ass kicked .
The 125th year celebration results in a nice win for us, as we begin our quest to knock down the pretenders, and assert our dominance. I'm saying we win 69-57.
