Udeh didn't fight over that screen and then gets called for another foul
You had this called right. This is Bahamas hangover.
Let's go, Udeh
Dave Armstrong's last game. I like Dave Armstrong- always have.
We'll see a lot of Joe, and hopefully a lot of MJ.
They hide KU Gameday live every time. It's intentional, and it annoys me.
Most dysfunctional programs: 1- Nebraska 2-Auburn. Feel free to add to the list...
Wonder what practice will be like this week.
Caleb Love gets the efficiency award of the day for the Tarheels: 13 out of 36 shooting: 34 points.

The loss yesterday was a blessing. It finally ended our mental picture of still being national champs. Until a team losses after winning it all, it is still on the honeymoon of that title.
We will still be targeted by all our opponents... but we should be able to play a little more relaxed. Dajuan was showing the wear of 3 games in as many days while trying to keep our national title streak going.
Now it's time to develop! Players, team, roles, perspective, motivation. It all starts now!
I'm glad we lost.
Now... finally... this team has lost the identity of last year's National Champs! The burden has been lifted and they will now have to move forward realizing they have to find their own identity (not riding the tails of last year's history). Now they realize they can play as crappy as any other D1 team and get beat by any D1 team on any given night.
B12 play is upon us but I think we will be as ready as we can, considering we now only have one PG!
I'm still very optimistic with this team and expecting big time fireworks come March!
RCJH!
START Udeh at the 5 for 3 games. I'm talking 30 minutes. Give the dude a full look. If we're still being outrebounded at the end of 3 games, then pull the plug, scoot JW to the 5, add in MJ Rice or somebody, and start running and gunning. 5 out all the way. Run, run, run. I'd also like to see us throw some pressure at other teams. Maybe do some traps, some full court, throw a zone at them for a few possessions. Make them think too much. We're making it too easy for them.
Huge improvement overall. He'll have defense and special teams operating much better next year. There won't be anymore losing 6 of our last 7 games next year.
This game is a win-win for us. Win, and we crush Silo Tech to the bone - lose, and we crush Texas' pipe dream of making the conference championship game. What's the downside here?
I think Matt Rhule is a home run hire for the Shuckers. He's going to have the Texas connections to recruit Texas. Plus, this isn't his first rodeo rebuilding teams. He rebuilt Temple and Baylor very quick.
Mr. Hat, what did you think about the loss?
17-1 in our last 18 games. National champions. 81% winning percent. The recipe this year needs more time to bake. Around the end of Jan, the beginning of Feb, we'll start to emerge as a real team. We'll have defined roles. and rotations that work. We'll start sharing the ball. A 5 man will emerge. They will figure it out. Remember, Bill doesn't really have a floor- his floor is 20+ wins with a 4 seed in the tournament.
JOE
How about an MJ Rice breakout?

@FarmerJayhawk not at all I explained to you. Just because you are in a power 5 conference doesnβt make you legit competition
Maybe we'll let you polish our national championship trophy!

These refs suck just a freaking joke
You're attention starved. Thanks for kind of pretending you're a KU fan by calling out the refs.

@BeddieKU23 It certainly was a difference maker. All things being equal, Wisconsin wins that game if they were playing under last years rules.
So it was the refs that won the game for us? lol...
Noooooo , SURELY nobody was trying to say the Ref's influenced the outcome of the game . There isn't ANYTHING that would favor that type of thinking. - -Let's see For the game Wisconsin was called for 19 fouls- - ok KU was called for 18 fouls. - - -For the game Wisconsin was 12-19 from the line - - - Ku was 12-21 from the line - - So KU had TWO MORE ATTEMPTS - - two. - - Sook , let's look at this then - - for the game one way to look at it the Officals felt Wisconsin was guilty of making SIX turnovers - - Those same officials felt KU was guilty of THIRTEEN
So I know that there would be anyone here trying to say that the Officials influenced or cause Wisconsin the win
He wasn't saying that. I was ribbing him.
60-58, KU.

FYI, KU toughened up the Badgers for USC today and we took care of them in regulation.
They looked very good. New found respect for Wiskey. USC is a tournament team, imo.

As far as the bigs it's really impossible to say this year. Someone might develop in time, they might not. Overall I'm very confident in Zuby being good eventually. Right now he feels like the guy that doesn't get enough minutes. He's better defensively than Udeh but worse and lost offensively. Udeh is a bit lost on that end too but has had more flashes. Zach before he got hurt was just an abyss on offense.
Get McCullar at his usual production, get a little bit out of Rice (Joe is not a P5 player, Rice might be) and we should finish 2nd in the Big 12. Bob is a good bench player. KJ is a good bench player too but he is forced to start so it's hard to see us finishing ahead of Texas.
I felt the same way last year about this time. I had concluded there was no way Och, Braun and the gang were ever going to get past the S16. Then the magic happened. With this team, I'm not convinced there will be magic. Great individuals with JW, Juando, and the Gradey revelation, but I'm not seeing the donut hole in the middle as anything but a weakness. Still, our floor is the highest in basketball, period. A bad year for us is 25 wins and a S16.
Ku 65 Wisconsin 59.

Since I was a kid, I wore a mouthpiece when playing ball. A few kids laughed, until we played.
No one influenced me more in basketball than Charles Barkley. I've always affectionately called him "Chab." He is the Muhammad Ali of basketball, and he has lived up to the Ali personification.
This new book release is on my read list. If I was coaching college ball, I'd have my players on a read list. They can't always practice. How about developing their minds.
Right off hand, I think I'd like to see Jalen Wilson read this book. He doesn't have the girth of Barkley, but he has come out this year and showed "Barkleyesque" aggression. He's taking the ball into the footer trees without hesitation. I'd say he's done pretty well so far this year in the timberlands. The only thing stopping Jalen now is Jalen.
Thoughts?
Jalen is fearless, but discretion is the better part of valor. Like today's game: started out like his hair was on fire, missed some shots, missed some layups, forced action by trying to do it all by himself, etc. 2nd half though he got into a much better rhythm, shot better, took his time on drives and finished, got everybody involved, and picked up his defense. He is on track to be All American - I wish he would just let the game come to him because when he is playing within himself, he's as good as anybody in the country. Completely fearless.
