"Bill Self... needed on Aisle 7, please! • Nov 20, 2022 02:51 AM

@Jethro to be clear. I’m not even that upset about the game. They found a way to win on a night they didn’t play well with the added handicap of not having the best coach in college basketball on their bench.

My post was a general missive, not aimed at comments as much as the general feeling of unease after a really sucky game. We looked terrible...lol. As fans, we want them operating like every game is the national championship. Me...you...every KU fan. But they're kids...smart kids. They knew SUU wasn't Dook. They played with their food for almost 2 hours before they barely scraped by. It happens every year.

We have games like this every year. We all freak out, and then Bill pulls them off the ledge. 5 teams in the Top 10 have lost this week(so far). I would rather have a crappy game now than have one in the tournament.

This team like to get out and run - -lot of guys 6'4 - -6'5- 6'6 - shoot a lot of 3's yet looks like right at 37 % -thing is they really go deep - -have 12 players that play from the most topping out at 23 minutes a game and the least of the 12 getting right at 11 minutes a game - looks like a constant revolving door for them. - - -Averaging 103.8 per game - -score over 100 points twice

When they face our defense, it will be like a tidal wave.

I can't swim lmao

Neither can they.

Are we good, really? Posters say Juan can't score, no one can hit free throws and our starting 5 is what, like 6'5". Oh my this year is going to be a disaster. And, our head coach has been suspended by the university. Oh my, what a disaster. By the way, our opponent's 3 game win streak is against LaVerne, St. Katherine and Bethesda. We don't have a chance tonight. Pass the tequila.

I got a whole bottle...don't mind if I do!

Xavier is giving Indiana everything they can handle with 10 minutes left in the game. Sean Miller is doing a great job getting Xavier back to snuff. Remember, Miller said that Bill Self was the best coach in the game last year before we had won the national championship. Miller also said that Kansas was one of the best teams in the nation last year. So, no more Stubby Miller- now it's Sean.

Texas A & M is getting all they can handle from Murray St. The Racers are up 10 with 6 min to go. Murray St is coached by Steve Prohm. Prohm looks very scruffy- like he's on the tail end of a 3 day bender. I'm afraid his time as the Clones coach broke him.

Juan looks hesitant when shooting the three he needs to shoot it with confidence like he practiced (or should have been) them all season.

No clue what he did but chucking 1000 threes a day and floaters should have been the requirement

Gradey needs more shots

Kj needs to just drive hard right every time. He’s so quick and built you can’t stop him. He did this one for a little one handed shot in the lane in the 2nd half and I about fell out of my chair. If he can do that we are legit modern ball

KJ looked good on the pnr. The poor guy suffers from Tyrannosaurus rex arms, and is very good defensively, so if he can make a few shots, then his value increases a lot, imo.

@Jethro yeah Bobby has to attack way more. He can penetrate at will but the speed of the game I think made him hesitant
Duke’s size is no joke after the first two games we played. Guarantee the court felt smaller to each guy

The whole team shied away from driving to the rim at times in that game- drove me crazy. Guarantee you- when Bill gets back, he'll make them drive it to the basket.

Gonzaga? • Nov 17, 2022 04:23 PM

The future for the B12 is the west coast. We're going to be taking on 1 good bb program ( Arizona) , and 3 mediocre to bad programs if we get the 4 corners ( even though the Buffs thrashed Tenn). This is a new B12- a conference run by a marketing whiz. A year ago, Bowlsby was sending ESPN a cease and desist letter... a year later, Yormark has entered us into a new deal with ESPN. That late night tier makes money- why wouldn't you want the best bb team on the West coast to be involved? No doubt, we won't like some late starts, but we're going to have that with BYU anyway, and it will become a way of life with the 4 corners. We would be insane not to take on Gonzaga, imo.

Dook Game Thread • Nov 17, 2022 04:05 PM

Joe does it in practice all the time, but he hasn't been able to translate that into games. MJ has to be ahead of him. I thot BPJ played small- I don't think he ever penetrated their defense once.

Our defense is sensational. Juando is a big part of that. Our offense scores because Juando drops a whole bunch of dimes.

It's going to take a great team to beat our A game. We showed a lot of poise when the game counted.

@kuballin10 Rock chalk jayhawk - hope we go back to back as this is a Bill Self win ugly in March team

Not even close. You get a D- on that one. We aren't going back to badball. I remember how those days used to trouble you. Jamari isn't walking through the door anytime soon.

Duke Kills Kansas... Kansas Wins Game! • Nov 16, 2022 03:21 PM

It was WVU Huggy ball. They fouled us 3 times every time we had the ball. After a blazing start, our tempo slowed down, and we started wrestling with them. That's when they took the lead, and I knew it was time for me to take a break from the game thread. Then Gradey came in and did the Remy, and we won.

Did KY run out of gas at the end? I was unable to watch the game. 😖

Here's a good description of the game from a Tucky fan:

We got first OT because we couldn't defend a junior high level inbound pass.

We got the second OT because MSU threw over our press with 7 seconds left.

Think about that, BBN.

Both of those were junior high level defensive plays.

Both of them showed how ill-prepared we were.

What a complete waste of our emotions and lives under the Cal era.

The guy has squandered so much talent.

I'm tired of his stupid face.

Cal was outcoached. Tucky had control of the game many times, and simply melted down.
