@approxinfinity I am not saying you or anyone specific is like that. But there are a lot fans who is asked point blank if they can assess players as well as Self will say "of course not", but then turn around and say "Bill Self is playing his pet too many minutes! If only he could assess his pet's worth to the team as well as I can!"
Self does not have a tendency to play personal favorites. He has a tendency to play the best players on the team. That myth exists as a result of fans who think that they can assess players better than a hall of fame coach.
Of course. The issue is that Flory is an undersized center who cannot shoot, which I think limits his NBA stock.
Do you think he is going to the NBA or transferring?
Recruiting Adkins is interesting. Flory, Tiller, and Mbiya are all bigs who could return next season and relegate Adkins to the bench.
For anyone wanting to watch
Kicking is so mental. You have to know the mechanics of course, but other than that it is 100% mental. Harrison doesn't have whatever mojo he needs but once he gets a good kicking game or two in he'll turn it around
Word on the street is that Trent Perry and Davion Adkins have both committed. Is this confirmed?
The good news: we took care of business. The bad news: Jacksonville is no pushover.
What kind of game does TK have? Is there any risk that he will care more about his social media and his brand than the team's success while here?
LL instills the mindset that causes us to fumble twice in a row on the goal line, have otherwise great receivers drop passes on critical 3rd downs, and give up every single 4th down conversion attempt on the season. Additionally, he is directly responsible for bad clock management and bad punting decisions.
I have read enough internet posts to know that the fans understand what it takes to make a good basketball team more than coach Self does.
@Crimsonorblue22 The fumble was LL's fault. Had one goal line fumble happened, okay, maybe its bad luck. But the fact that we fumbled a bad snap, then got lucky that a penalty nullified the play, and then proceeded to fumble again is proof that our team was bound and determined to turn the ball over. A team-wide determination to lose is on the coach.
@dylans No, people are mad because we are 2-16 in one score games during the Leipold era, which is unacceptable regardless of expectations.
I will save you guys the trouble of watching the rest of the season. Here is what will happen. We will beat UCF. We will then get blown out by Texas Tech. We will outplay and outgain K-State but find a way to lose in the 4th quarter. We will blow out Oklahoma State. We will lose a close game against Arizona. Then we will lose another close game against Iowa State. Then we will lose to Utah. Our final record will be 5-7.
@kjayhawks So much worse than getting beat by 40. So, so much worse.
The problem with the defense is not that they are incapable, its that they have absolutely no toughness. In any given crucial 4th down its a guaranteed conversion. That is on Lance more than on DK.
Then we are most likely doomed to several years of 4-8 records (composed of 4 blowout wins, 2 blowout losses, and 6 4th quarter choke job losses) until Lance retires.
@FarmerJayhawk That's why I am in favor of allowing him to prove he can win a close game this season. If he can do so, maybe there is a chance we can get back to getting meaningful wins and good seasons. But if not, we can conclude that the golden years of the Leipold era are in the rear-view and that we will never win a game against an opponent that is not overmatched by us (WVU, Fresno State etc) until we have a new coach.
If our close games resulted in the occasional win you would be right. But losing every single time is unacceptable beyond words
If you're going to lose anyways you might as well get it over with early than waste the fans time pretending you're in it to win it.
KU athletics just got a huge donation
My two cents, he has to win a close game at some point this season, otherwise he needs to be fired. I don't care if we go back to going 1-11 every year, that isn't so much worse than losing every single close game you play.
No love for Coco smh
The Ravens just allowed the Lions to run roughshod all over them and allowed Lamar to take 7 sacks. If we can run the ball well and get some pressure I like our chances. If we fail to do either of those I think Baltimore blows us out.
Ultimately Disney and ABC are businesses and care much, much more about money than they do political agendas.
Mahomes has been playing all season with a weird mix of classic Mahomes great plays and awful mistakes. He, along with the rest of the team, needs to clean up on the self-inflicted wounds.
The defense was great. The Giants lead the NFL in passing offense and we completely shut them down.
I am a genius for drafting Scattebo onto my fantasy team. I started him and he helped me win this week.
Does anyone know the line for the Cincinnati game?
Go Gamecocks!
It is concerning that Ballard is still the second QB. We need to be playing Marshall instead
The Badgers have tolerated outdated, predictable, and unproductive offenses for as long as I can remember.
@kjayhawks You bring up some good points and this is nothing new. For many years both sides of the political spectrum have been censoring the other and then turning around and complaining when the other side censors. It would be nice if more people called out both parties but unfortunately people will just continue to criticize the other party's censorship while ignoring that of their own.
Last year I was 100% sure we would lose. Even when we were up 11 with 5 minutes left I had no doubt we would give up a quick touchdown, go three and out, and then give up another score. This year I would give us about a 45% chance of winning, a significant jump from the 0 we had last year. We are favorites and definitely could blow WVU out, but I think we will shoot outselves in the foot with drops, fumbles, and miscommunications on defense enough to allow WVU to stay in the game. Then in the 4th quarter I think WVU shows more testicular fortitude (some) than us (none) and takes a surprise win.
Converseley, if we are winning by double digits in the 4th quarter I think we can drain the clock just well enough to escape.
The data centers that store the information banks AI accesses are huge and use up a lot of energy.
What irks me about this is the double-standard being set by Disney. Sure, it is irresponsible of Kimmel to use his platform to lie about the political views of the suspect. However, if Disney really cared that much about people with public followings being truthful and responsible, they would have fired all the FOX News anchors who lied about the 2020 election being stolen as well.
Aldrich definitely deserves a shoutout but I wouldn't include him simply because he was the 8th or 9th man that season. But it honestly speaks volumes about how good (and underrated) Arthur, D-Block, and Kaun were that they were able to keep Aldrich buried on our depth chart that season.
That first missed TD to Thornton is one that Mahomes needs to connect on 9 times out of 10. I think that he is so focused on bringing the deep ball back to the offense that he psyches himself out whenever he actually throws one, which reduces his accuracy.
If you were to ask AI whether Thomas Robinson or Christian Moody was a better player for us, it would, without a doubt, be able to tell you that Thomas Robinson is better and could explain why. However, if you asked it something that requires more nuance, like asking whether Darrell Arthur or Perry Ellis was better, it would most likely refuse to answer and would make the case for both.
Our team is not perfect but they will be fine. They just outplayed the defending champs without WR1 and WR2.
That line will shrink so betting on us not to cover before the line moves could be smart.

-
Sherron Collins. As a sophomore he was a great 6th man throughout the season and came up big in our title run.
-
Remy Martin. Regional MOP off the bench! A slot below Collins because Martin didn't do much in the regular season.
-
Sasha Kaun. Probably a 7th man technically but I felt I had to include him. Great backup big and saved our asses against Davidson.
-
Thomas Robinson. The year before he was an All-American, he came off the bench. Great bench player who helped us see little, if any, dropoff when a Morris twin had to sit.
-
Christian Braun (freshman). Came off the bench for our 2020 team and gave us some perimeter shooting that we really needed. Fairly mistake-free for a freshman as well.
-
Freshman Frank Mason III. Lots of ups and downs but showed signs of the special player he would grow into.
-
Freshman DaJuan Harris. Came off the bench as a freshman, wreaked havoc on the opposing offense and gave us a true point guard that that team probably should have played more.
-
Naadir Tharpe (sophomore year). I know he wasn't a great starting point guard, but he made our team better by bringing some much needed ball-handing off the bench as a sophomore.
-
Flory Bidunga. Lots of potential and was our best player sometimes, but was also pushed around by stronger players in the most too much.
-
Jamari Traylor. Elite and versatile defender by his senior year. Never really developed any offensive skills.
-
Connor Teahan. His three-balls against misery make him a legend. That said, his shooting was very streaky overall and he wasn't athletic enough to be a great defender.
-
Elmarko Jackson.
The more I think about it the more I would like to move Darrell Arthur up
WVU peat Pitt. Ohio, the team that beat WVU, is hanging tough with Ohio State. WVU, it turns out, is actually a pretty good team. We will have to bring our A-game to have a chance against them.
WVU up early on Pitt. I don't think they are the pushover many claim them to be.
Some of these players could be considered power forwards, but I am counting them at centers because I felt like they played the 5.
-
Udoka Azubuike. According to advanced stats he is a historically impactful player on defense. He also holds the NCAA record for career field goal percentage. The cornerstone of our 2020 Natty.
-
Wayne Simien. I think he is might be the best scoring 5-man Bill Self has ever coached.
-
Cole Aldrich. Another great two way player. A shot blacker who could also score in the post and rebound.
-
Jeff Withey. Like Aldrich, probably even better at defense, but not the scorer or rebounder Aldrich was.
-
David McCormack. There are more skilled players below him on the list, but playing well when it matters most is so important, and Big Dave absolutely did that. He was absolutely robbed of a Final 4 MVP, but he will not be robbed of a top-5 spot in these rankings.
-
Darnell Jackson. D-Block was so steady and reliable. Interior scoring, rebounding, defense, hustle, glue. An invaluable player and a very deserving national champ.
-
Markieff Morris. Nice player who could rebound and stretch the floor, but 8 turnovers against VCU really sours his legacy.
-
Sasha Kaun.
-
Landen Lucas
-
KJ Adams
-
Joel Embiid. It is a shame how things played out with him. He could have been number one on this list, but the best ability is availability.
-
Jamari Traylor
-
Hunter Dickinson. His coming in and forcing KJ to switch to the four really hurt our spacing and was a key reason for our offensive struggles. Additionally he was a terrible leader, as his teams never showed any fight in the face of adversity. Terrible defender and a terrible March performer as well.
I forgot Julian Wright. Let's put him at number 8.
@Texas-Hawk-10 You have a valid case and your opinion is probably worth twice as much as mine. I will defend my case anyways. With Marcus my rationale was more based on his off-court character and his leadership and how it effected the team than it was his performance on the court. Regarding Perry, I agree he wasn't good against Stanford, but against Nova he was double teamed constantly as Nova's strategy was to count on us not making open 3s (which worked), so I don't really blame him for that one.
I don't think we can talk shit on K-State football until we beat them.
@rockchalkjayhawk Yeah but I will rank them with the 5s tomorrow
@MR11 If it was just on-court play I would likely put Marcus at number 2. However, I am also counting factors such as leadership and locker room influence. In 2011 Marcus was our unquestioned leader, and he failed miserably in his responsibility of rallying the troops when VCU hit a few lucky threes against us. Our team was clearly shell-shocked, and that is completely on Marcus.
