Bill is smart. He was being attacked for not playing Misery, so he gets to slay that dragon in a game that has no bearing on our record, while raising a ton of money for a great cause. Plus, it gives us an extra game to prepare for 'Tucky ( which is why 'tucky is playing an extra game as well ).
@BShark I had him in one of my Draft Sharks lineup. He broke 30 fantasy points, and his salary was 3k. That's 10 times value, and I banked it. On the way to 300 points tonight, which means $$$. For shits and gigs, I threw in Josh in several lineups. I also threw in Frank on one...lol.
It gives us a chance to compete against some good players, which will be a benefit to the team. If it helps us beat "Tucky, I'm for it. Even if they are egg suckin' dogs.
I don't call Vick a surprise, But Garrett will be a key part of the team this year, which is somewhat surprising.
The correct answer, of course, is suspend a player from NC State, just like the NCAA just did concerning the largest case of academic fraud in NCAA history.

On the tote board today, I have about 65 different lineups going on Draft Kings. i play the dinky amounts (.10/.25/1.00), and normally cash small amounts. Today I like the following players:
Brady, Brees, McCown, Rivers, Palmer, and Watson at QB
My rbs this week are:
Duke Johnson, McKinnon, Melvy Gordon, Ellington, and Gurley. Hunt is priced too high ( 8K ) for my tastes.
My wrs are Hilton, Pryor, Crabtree, Keenan, Fitz, kearse facing that NE swiss cheese defense, I have Hill in several lineups, and my blue light special is that kid Lewis with the NYG.
TE has been a tough slog this week, as Gronk and Kelce cost a boatload, and although Reed finally looks healthy, the presence of Vernon Davis in that Washington offense in those two tight end sets are giving me lots of pause. I had wheeled Jordan Reed in practically every lineup, then I backed away. I'm investing some shares in Jenkins, Kelce, Gronk, Fells, and even Fleener off New Orlean's bye week. That might be, once again, the black hole of Fantasy football this week.
Team defenses are all over the place, but I like the Jags and the Ravens to be pretty good. I have SD defense in a few, along with the Vikes going against that porous GB offensive line ( Guaranteed 5 sacks ).
@Texas-Hawk-10 There are exceptions to rules all the time. The truth is, our experience at point guard has overcome our lack of talent at pg ( not including Frank and Devonte after they developed ). Frank wasn't anointed starting pg when he signed, he fought and scrapped for it. Same with Devonte. These were top 100 type pgs who have developed into stars. They didn't instantly get starter's minutes. This will be quite a new experience for us...to first have a freshman running the team ( it does make you gulp ), and to have such a talented player. If Bill can take 3 star recruits and turn them into national player of the year, what can he do with a 5 star recruit?

@Texas-Hawk-10 I think we're talking about who gets the shots. if we're going strictly by the numbers, and Mario's numbers were 11.5 ppg his freshman season because he wasn't a primary scorer...that wasn't his role yet. Yet JJ came in his fr year, and averaged almost 17, so it has to do with the role you have with the team. And if Dotson can drive to the hole, and can score or get fouled, Bill will utilize that. How many drives did TT and Frank take in their careers? He loves guards that take the ball to the rim. I think you are attempting to generalize numbers that were created by players that had different roles than what Dotson comes into when he steps in as starter.
@BShark I am amazed and grateful. He will have a long and great career. I hope he makes a billion.
@Texas-Hawk-10 You are right and wrong at the same time concerning 2013, imo. That team went into freefall because an experienced "point guard" sucked. We might've been able to hide Tharpe's woeful game another game or two in the tourney if Embiid stays on the court, but after Joel went down the team simply collapsed. The lack of experience hurt bigtime. But Naadir's play hurt worse. That team truly had no ball handlers ...no passing ..it was the weakest backcourt Bill has ever had. Dotson comes in as a rookie miles ahead of anyone on that roster in 2013 ( Frank was just getting his feet wet ). Now, that doesn't mean he's Frank or Devonte, but guards have always adapted much quicker to Bill's system. And you have a lightening quick, relentless guard who specializes in driving to the basket, who is considered a phenomenal passer ...lots to love about about this kid. The kid gets a break by joining a very talented roster, with 3 college transfers coming in at the same time, along with 2 really good young freshmen on the front line. I would love to see Vick come back, but if he doesn't, I don't think that automatically means we'll have a sucky year.
That one is gonna leave a mark.

@BShark I read that. Mellinger is obsessed with trying to pressure KU into playing the egg sucking dogs every year. I think the exhibition takes the heat off Bill for not scheduling them from those that are caterwauling about us not playing them. smart strategic move on his part, although I would prefer we played UMKC. I think the draw would be about the same because our fanbase would buy up all the tickets. If we're being made to pimp a program, I'd prefer UMKC.

@BeddieKU23 I watched his mix tapes, and he certainly has talent, so I understand. i have learned not to get too high about possible recruits because we've been left at the altar enough that I always am looking over my shoulder. If the kid can't figure out the difference between Maryland and KU, do we really want him?

@BeddieKU23 I haven't watched the whole games with Charlie, but your "Dotson or the hellhole that is Charlie" are fascinating, imo. How did we get Frank..or Devonte? I don't think either one of them were our first choice. I have faith that if we miss out on Dotson, we will manage to find another solution that doesn't necessarily involve Charlie starting. We have an entire season to recruit more talent. Have faith.
