The Slow Death 💀 of ESPN • Jun 16, 2017 12:13 AM

ESPN is simply another propaganda tool used by same side that uses every media organ available to spread their narrative.

Camp • Jun 15, 2017 04:43 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 he reminds me of him. I didn't say he was him.

Camp • Jun 15, 2017 11:41 AM

Myself, I was more interested in Preston's 17 points than Lightfoot's 22. I know it was a pick up game, but glad to see Preston operating down low. Lightfoot is coming right along, and should be a solid number 4 big, but Preston reminds me of TROB. He is so much bigger than Bragg, so much more agile than Coleby. Plus, we haven't even seen his dribbling skills yet.

Reflections on Feline Hair Removal • Jun 14, 2017 06:50 PM

In the video, I love the way Preston takes Whitman completely out of the play down low with an enormous butt shove. That's how you box out, kids. Yes, it was probably a foul, but so nice to see somebody on our team down low that means business.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I'm glad you understand how I feel about our house here. You can ignore it, while I bring the big thunder.

@stoptheflop I was watching video from camp yesterday. It's on Youtube.

Reflections on Feline Hair Removal • Jun 14, 2017 12:25 PM

I think this year we could be underrated. This is a retro year, where Bill finally has some size down low. I am watching Preston closely, and I'm liking what I'm seeing. He is several years older than your avg freshman, and won't get pushed around down low, like bragg did the past 2 years.

Shh this might be Coach's best team ever • Jun 14, 2017 12:54 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Exactly.

Shh this might be Coach's best team ever • Jun 14, 2017 12:54 AM

@kjayhawks Bingo. We were beat by a better defensive team, period. I want to see lock down defense again. That is Bill's trademark, and our key to the Final Four, and winning a national championship.

Shh this might be Coach's best team ever • Jun 14, 2017 12:44 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 If someone walked into my house, and started yelling at the top of their lungs, I wouldn't ignore them...I would tell them to shut the F up, and get out. I assume you would put your fingers in your ears. To each his own.

@globaljaybird I quit watching ESPN decades ago. Millions of viewers lost, but the Deep State doesn't care.

nah..i was actually saying wiggins sucks!! hate that guy. wouldn't even show up to the roundball classic..he doesn't want jack$hit to do with KU. was always about himself and $$$$ and to top it off, his bro ain't even coming here. Boy, he worked self good.

Seething, unbridled jealousy on display. Keep braying, Donkey..you're making my case....

@elpoyo It was such a good response, it left you babbling about Walmart.

Shh this might be Coach's best team ever • Jun 13, 2017 11:48 AM

@elpoyo Irreplaceable, huh? Your lack of faith doesn't discourage anyone on here. However, your obsession with KU does speak volumes about our success. The best programs will naturally create bitter, jealous rivals. So in your case, it's obviously working.

Shh this might be Coach's best team ever • Jun 12, 2017 06:52 PM

@elpoyo I disagree. Last year was a doughnut hole in the middle. That problem has been resolved. Not as much individual talent, but a much more balanced team, and a much better defensive team. I like our chances.

OK, -I'm now - - offically BORED • Jun 12, 2017 05:44 PM

I played a par 3 course long ago, and I made the green on my first shot for the first 3 holes. Trouble was it was the wrong green on Hole number 2 and 3.

2018 Recruiting Thread • Jun 12, 2017 02:33 PM

In defense of KJ, 33% from 3 his first full year is not too shabby. He ended up at .328 from 3, which is strangely the exact percent Wayne hit from 3 his first full year. 33% from 3 = 50% from 2. He averaged 8 rebounds a game- JJ was at 7.4. If I'm not mistaken, Perry never averaged 8 boards a game. He won't have to carry the offense, so shot selection should improve, and number of shots will decrease. Plus, it's not like Tubby is known for offense, so he will be going into a much better offensive system. KJ IS known for defense. If he plays great defense, he will be a great asset to the team.

Here's an article suggesting our team defense ( and 5 from 25 from 3) cost us the Final Four, so I'm all in on guys that play defense:

One of his best teams. very inexperienced front line prevents me from deeming them the best ever, but we'll see. Certainly one of the most talented, and athletic teams we've had in a while.

@Fightsongwriter I think Vick leads the team in 3 pt %, and he comes in over 50%. I think he's that good.

@jaybate-1.0 That's like peas and carrots for me. Left Twix and right Twix. Fric and Frac. Laurel and Hardy. Bonnie and Clyde. Seen the movies hundreds of times, seen Frank play hundreds of times. I've actually watched Frank on the same day while Transformer binging, so I get your reference.

Udoka, first team All-American • Jun 10, 2017 05:24 PM

The match up with Bomba will be epic. I think Devonte is the all american, and Doke is first team Big 12.

@Crimsonorblue22 I would prefer Vick over Svi, considering Preston should be on the court at the 4. However, that opinion is subject to change.

@RockkChalkk I feel the same way about Vick/Svi. Svi, show me something. Until then, I think Vick should start.

Big Game Bob is gone • Jun 07, 2017 08:01 PM

Stoops is stepping down at OU. I knew a guy that was a starter for him for 3 years, and he told me anytime they had a big game, Bob would run plays they had that they didn't normally use, and it would backfire on them.

VIDEO FROM YESTERDAY"S SCRIMMAGE • Jun 07, 2017 06:12 PM

@DanR i think we're going to need him if Udunka can't stay on the floor due to fouls. Love that kid's attitude. The baby face belies a bad hombre who is going to assert himself more and more as he carves out a role on the court.

If you don't have a PG, you won't be good, period.

@KUSTEVE Taking a little break here before I dive into the Blue Bell...we sign anyone in the last 30 minutes?

JETHRO'S NEW C FOOD DIET • Jun 06, 2017 10:22 PM

i'm trying to get that Jethro Bodine swag back, so I went on a diet, starting tonight. One (1) Porterhouse steak, one (1)jumbo baked potato with real butter, sour cream, cheese, and bacon bits, with a pound of brussel spouts, slathered, dunked, and dipped in endless butter, along with a half gallon of Blue Bell Rocky Road for a night cap. I see it, I eat it. The Jethro "C-FOOD DIET".

That's my actual meal for tonight. It's somewhat piggish, but I stand in open defiance to all Food Nazis. I'll eat what I want to eat, when I want to eat it.

Using Hudy as an example of token gender hiring is a bad example. Now, if you want to discuss the bull dyke ESPN color announcers on men's bb games, then you have a point. Hudy is better than her peers, gender be damned, and is a great recruiting angle. Just take a look at Frank over the years- last year he looked like a mini Hercules.

Thad Matta Out • Jun 05, 2017 09:43 PM

@Kcmatt7 Holy Snikeys, the "Nose" is out of a job. That's a pretty big snozz they're going to have to replace.

Bad year for recruiting • Jun 04, 2017 02:00 PM

If we didn't have Devonte, Newman, Vick, Svi, and Doke, I'm sure our recruiting would've been much better. It's pretty difficult to land a 5 star recruit when you don't have minutes available for them. So, what would we rank a Dedric Lawson? If he comes in, and averages 19 ppg/9 rebounds like last year, he'd have better numbers than JJ did. So, we're getting a guy that averaged more points and boards than the number 1 recruit for 2016 had with us ....so, would Dedric be considered the number 1 recruit then? His brother is known for his defense, and was no slouch either in ppg and rebounds. Moore is a very promising combo guard. He is a little toughie. These are major gets that will pay off tremendously next year. This roster is LOADED. No room at the inn.

We're much bigger than the B12. We have our own Monday night tv series during the season. I agree the rest of the Big 12 (sans UT ) is falling off a cliff in recruiting, although I like what OU has done.

Now The Real Fun Begins: May Rotation Talk • Jun 03, 2017 11:48 PM

I actually hope you're right. Townsend's comments make me believe there will be growing pains, and Self will settle for the more experienced guy.

Now The Real Fun Begins: May Rotation Talk • Jun 03, 2017 06:42 PM

Here is who I think will end up being the starters: DG, Newman, Vick, Whitman, Doke. Svi is the 6th man, and he replaces Whitman. Preston comes in next. Whitman is what Self wants at the 4. Down to the T. He's a rebounder, he'll battle inside, he can post up, he is tailor made for the hi-lo. I will reference Bill Self as my source, as he said we didn't have any more Josh Jacksons to run the 4 out.

Two And Done New Law Of The Land? • Jun 03, 2017 11:00 AM

@jaybate-1.0 The 10 stacks will need to sit half the time. The max minutes for KY players will be 20 minutes in that case.

KU vs Fizzou? • May 31, 2017 10:23 PM

@HighEliteMajor And that's the price Misery paid by pulling out of the rivalry. Out of the conference. I think about our annual game in the Champion's Classic, and I don't have the same feeling about Dook and Sparty that i do when we're playing Baylor for the conference lead. Yes, I definitely want to win, but it isn't as crushing as a conference loss if we lose. Tucky is different in my mind, as they are a long time rival over decades, and their mouthy fans deserve and need a good whipping to keep them in line. So you propose we copy the Misery Tigers, and play them annually like they do Illinois? If we did that, that might be the only time Misery would get a game on national tv before conference. I really don't want to help Misery get exposure by trading off our brand. I assure you, it would not be the same game- it wouldn't look the same, and it definitely wouldn't feel the same. Just my 2 cents worth.

KU vs Fizzou? • May 31, 2017 08:29 PM

@HighEliteMajor The games meant something because we were competing to win a conference championship. That great game you referenced was meaningful because it decided the conference championship. Take that away, and we might as well be playing UNC Ashville ( if they had a nasty fanbase that talks s*** all the time ).

If Misery wants to play us, then I suggest they win some games, and the NCAA tournament committee will oblige. Of course, having Cuonzo as coach is no guarantee that will happen, no matter who they sign. Whoever we play on our schedule is blessed- we are one of the greatest attractions in America. We sell tickets where ever we go. Misery coming to town would generate the same number of tickets sold in AFH as if we were playing Siena, or UNC Ashville. So, we wouldn't make a dime off playing that rinky dink team with their horrible fan base. Of course, our players are missing out on the joy of playing in an arena where batteries are thrown at them, and racial taunts are SOP. They chose to end the rivalry, and we have now replaced them with an annual game with the team that regularly whips their ass, and wins their conference ( 'Tucky ). I would personally rather play the SEC conference champ than the doormat.
