I still don't think trading him was the right decision considering how little he would be paid this season. But I will admit that I think Veach did a great job addressing the CB position this offseason. Nelson and Fuller both look like quality corners. Maybe underwhelming at times, but solid quality players.

That is why I don't think he will get much time. Are we better with Charlie on the court wtih Dotson. Or Dotson with Garrett/Vick/KJ/Grimes combo? That group is just so long and talented that I can't see Moore playing much.

@wissox people love home runs and home run hitters. So K numbers aren't going down. We have to find a way to cut down game time and still see the excitement of guys hitting 50+ HRs a season.

You just don't get the feeling of the game from Hanni. When you listened to Bob, you felt like you were there. You could tell the momentum of the game from his voice. You could feel how big a moment was.
Hanni is very monotone and boring and was a really disappointing selection, imo.
He's rough. I really, really hope he isn't a lifelong "voice of the jayhawks"
@wissox Pitching changes are the worst. They kill at least an hour of the game. Especially during the playoffs. They need to force all relievers to ride in on a cart and get delivered to the mound.
But to add to it, there are so many "extra" things that baseball allows and shouldn't. Managers shouldn't be able to leave the dugout. That means no mound visits, no umpire arguments, nothing of the sort. Players shouldn't argue at all. You argue even a little, you're gone.
Touching the bases on a Home Run is a waste of time.
A pitch clock should absolutely be installed.
Switching innings needs to become faster. High School players can flip an inning in under two minutes easily.
Catchers should have courtesy runners so innings can get flipped quicker.
There are plenty of things that can be done to speed the game up and make it more compelling.
I think Dotson needs to play zone because he will attack the middle of it instead of trying to shoot over it. Someone in your zone busting lineup has to get the defense collapsing.
Getting Zeke to come here for his first visit is perfect. We set the bar. Good luck matching it.
I can almost guarantee you will see them play together against Zones and probably both WVU games. But I wouldn't expect to see it every game.
It really is such a long shot for UT to get in.
Bama, Clemson and Notre Dame are basically locks at this point. Ohio State has one tough regular season game left. So they're all but a lock.
The only team that I think will fall on the way is Georgia. They play Florida, Kentucky, LSU and Auburn still this season. Any of whom could pull off the upset. But it definitely looks like those 5 teams are going to fill the 4 spots. Poor UCF won't even have an argument this year with 4 undefeated P5 teams in the playoffs.
@BShark I think he is better than Jamari. Silvio is a PLUS rebounder. Like a freak rebounder.
But outside of that, their skill sets are extremely similar. A short Center with a limited offensive game who offers limited rim protection.
At least Devonte got paid already... I mean if you're looking for a bright spot. It may really end up a blessing for him if he gets cut after this season. He can go ball out at training camp and summer league and possible earn another guaranteed deal. Of course that's being optimistic.
And Frank absolutely has the drive to stick.

@BeddieKU23 Too many KU players get this treatment. This is the problem with going top 5. You're guaranteed to go to a place that is completely mismanaged.
There is plenty of depth and talent on the roster to absorb Silvio's absence. I think some of you guys are way to high on a super raw 6'7 C. But that's just how I view Silvio. To me, he is just Jamari Traylor 2.0.
@BeddieKU23 Yea at this point switching is a waste. Honestly, this happening probably gave KU a TON of leverage in the new contract and we were able to write in some ridiculous clauses that either protected us from this happening again or at the very least paid the university handsomely if it did.
The biggest loss was LDT short-term. But at least he is supposed to be back before the end of the season. Houston worries me, but KPass has been alright. Lucas played better than Murray has all season.
This team could lose Silvio and still be a championship contender. No doubt in my mind. Post depth is the least of my concerns. I'm much more worried about how Dotson looks running the show. Followed closely by the chemistry of this group. A lot of mouths to feed on this team.

@BShark Good points. I think Achiuwa looks like a wing more than a 4. So I think you can have all of them. But I do think whether or not we even push for Achiuwa depends on Stanley's decision.
I do expect us to lose 5 guys early. I still think KJ leaves early along with Grimes, Doke, Dedric and De Sousa. So there is room to take 5 more guys. KJ, in theory, should graduate this year so I don't know why he would stay. Take your degree and go start earning money playing ball while you can.
But that does put a scenario in play where we can land all of those guys and either Stanley or Achuiwa.

@jayballer73 It's some connecting the dots. 1. We hired an old SEC AD. 2. Les has been in the B12 before. 3. At 65, this is about all the offers that Les is going to get. There are only a handful of jobs that can pay Les what he would want AND would be ok hiring a 65 year old coach.
He is certainly a logical candidate, and probably the most high profile one that we would have a shot at. So naturally that's where people will start with their "what if" scenarios. Just talk brotha.
Writing appears to be on the wall and he'll be confirmed regardless how any of us feel. I don't know which base will be most fired up come November. But the timing of this will certainly make sure people get out and vote.

@Texas-Hawk-10 They know they are Lame Ducks even if Beaty is canned. It's their audition for another job and the difference between going to Coastal Carolina or North Carolina. That is their motivation. On top of just owing it to the players.
Any extra time we can give Les in an official capacity the better. But that's just my opinion. I realize he can't officially hire a staff, but he can send out feelers and have a decent idea of who would be coming.
If, and truly a big if, the hire is Les Miles we should can Beaty and make the Les hire official. Let him start contacting guys to be on his staff and then hit the recruiting trail himself with nothing else to do but recruit.
My thought is that if we have a near full staff in place for next season before the season is even over we can start hitting the recruiting trail hard right of the get go.
But if we end up poaching a current coach, we obviously have to wait until bowl season.

To be clear, I don't give a shit what he lied about. I care that he lied. On the stand, under oath.. When he is supposed to be one of 9 people in this country in a position of pure integrity. The fact that you could care less if he is a liar says everything about you and the Republican's that are backing him. You don't give a shit about the integrity of the Supreme Court. You just care that the Republicans get a win. And that is the problem with the two party system.

Go look at how strange many of their recruitments have been. Go look at all of Book Richardson's players he got to Arizona on 247... Do research on each of those recruitments.
