That right there is definitely one of the reasons they need to fix the end of game scenarios. Fouling intentionally is dangerous. Besides the fact the game is basically unwatchable.
@wissox I would just throw the ball into the backcourt.
I think whoever wins the UK vs. KSU game is going to be FF bound... Crazy Loyola has been able to be so damn clutch.
Can't believe Nevada played that possession straight up down 1.
@wissox Well somehow Duke and other very good academic schools find a way to get around that... If there is a will there is a way.
I will say that they eye test tells me the Nevada brothers are NBA talents. Not sure what scouts are saying about them. But athletically, they look like pros.
Nevada looks more desperate than the other times they were down in the tourney. Loyola D is just too good.
I will root for KSU until they make the FF if they make the FF. Once they have helped the B12, screw em. Ever since the marching band fiasco, I've lost all respect for KSU and their fans.
@wissox Iowa State is recruiting the heck out of Illinois/Chicago.
@wissox Honestly, no reason Illinois and Northwestern shouldn't be able to field tournament teams with Chicago, Milwaukee and Detroit right there.
TAMU getting ran. B10 flexing a little bit.
Seeing the TAMU we have seen most of the year tonight.
@JayHawkFanToo Well that contract makes me think it will be hard to fire him actually.
I actually think we have a spot left though. I don't see Cunliffe coming back at this point. And I believe Newman will also be leaving.
That would open up one scholarship. Two years from now, I don't expect Doke or Dedric to be on the roster, so there would be a fight for PT at the C position.
But it probably is a moot point. i'm sure he goes overseas.
@BeddieKU23 Is that official yet? From what I've read, he may consider transferring as well.
@BeddieKU23 Is Yurtseven a take if he wants to come here?
Lol who is going to force the NBA to do this? Would Frank Mason have made the cut on this Elite Player list? Pretend I go absolutely bananas my freshmen year, and prove I am a top 5 pick in the NBA draft. Why the hell would I play a 2nd year? I'd much rather sign an agent and have him pay for my training for the next year and make basketball my sole focus 24/7.
There are a lot of options out there. But none of them are feasible without the NBA's involvement in the process. The NBA can't even force a future top 5 pick to play a second season though. So I don't know how in the world they are going to make this happen. Especially if you see Mitchell Robinson and Afernee Simmons get drafted this year. I don't know why some guys haven't just sat out for a year and trained.
There is a 434 page topic labled "Danny Manning Credibility Watch"
Good lord do they want him gone...
Wake boards are literally compiling a list of Mannings replacements for after next year already lol.
Funny when you look back at it. Fired Dino Gaudio after a 20 win season. Haven't bee able to get back to that mark sense. 8 years. He had 25 conference wins in 3 seasons. Danny and Jeff have 37 wins combined over 8 seasons. Just awful.
Basically went the KU football route. Get rid of a coach that is performing about as well as you could reasonably expect on the field at your particular program, because the AD just wanted them to be gone. Follow that up with a splashy hire. Follow that up with a splashier hire. Watch you program go down in flames.

Wake Forest loses its 4th player due to transfer. This one is a big one as Keyshawn Woods will graduate and transfer. Averaged 12 ppg this season.
I do not know how Danny still has a job tbh. He took such a big step back this season that I can't see him keeping his job unless he wins 20 games next year.
Took the UConn job. I would think it will need to be at least $3M a season and really hard to get out of for the entire 6 years he signed for.
It was a good hire by UConn. A NE guy who can keep recruiting the same way, only now with better resources to actually land talent. Ollie was lucky enough to inherit all the talent he did and could hang his hat on that NC run.
@JayHawkFanToo I never thought Shaka was a good hire for Texas because he didn't ever recruit Texas before he got there and had no ties to the South whatsoever. His problem has never been recruiting big talent. It has been recruiting guys that will be there for 4 years and can just be good CBB players. He should never have to leave the state of Texas to build a NC caliber team. Yet he has had to take a grad transfer this year just to have a starting PF. I just don't think he is focusing on landing solid players from Texas and is just trying to land the big fish instead. Marcus Garrett should never have gotten out of Texas. Grimes should never get out of Texas.
Last season, he only landed one of the top 10 players in Texas. That can't happen. He needs to be landing 3 of the best players from Texas every year.
That is where I think UConn bringing Hurley in is a good move. He is only a 1 and a half hour drive from URI. That means, for the most part, his recruiting style and area is going to be able to stay the same. He might not even have to move lol. He is from the Northeast originally, so he has ties there going back to his childhood. He worked his way through the high school ranks first, which I think helps him a lot with recruiting. Not to mention his bloodline is very strong.
Really, just the complete opposite of Shaka's situation. And because of that, I think Hurley should succeed.
Louisville will be moving on. I can't blame them either. Never has a program needed to clean house completely, more than Louisville.
@BeddieKU23 Its such bad publicity now though to restrict where players can transfer. Just not worth it.
He just came out and denied it. But I think I would take him if I were Pitt. It can't get any worse. The question is really, why would Miller leave Arizona with that $10M buyout basically no matter what.
Sean Miller talking to Pitt about HC vacancy.
@BeddieKU23 I would have something in my contract that says I either get 4 years or I get a $20M buyout for any firing before those 4 years is up. Period. End of story.
Only way I would take the KU football gig too if I was the next HC we hire.
I'd take that Pitt job over UConn if I were him. Low expectations to start. And you would get to build the program from scratch essentially. Should be able to recruit fine in the ACC as well. They would give him 4 full years to get it going before he would get fired, if he was to fail that is.
The UConn job just doesn't seem great when you have penalties looming. The first coach they have since Calhoun can't get the job done. And even in a weak conference. Would make me think it is more a product of Calhoun and not so much a culture of success.
Someone actually gave a tip which caught him. The reward was like $115,000. Crazy to think. He was just taking packages to the FedEx store and dropping them off like a normal package.
Anyways, I hope that everything is found as well. I have about 5 friends who live in Austin and another 5 will be in Austin going to visit them on Thursday. I was honestly a little worried for everyone.
@BeddieKU23 definitely going to be a big test for Beard next season.
https://www.diehards.com/west-virginia/dangelo-hunter-west-virginia-bob-huggins-liar-twitter β
Sounds like he was getting forced out. Then probably became a distraction and so Bob told him to move along early.
@justanotherfan If they are going to be successful, that team will have to buy in on defensive end.
Curry sucks defensively, but he plays his part. All he does is go for steals. He knows that the other 4 guys will rotate and help, so he tries to make a difference by getting steals. Klay is a good, but not great defender. He isn't special. He is just long. I'm confident that Booker could be that guy if he gave the effort.
It isn't like TY is going to go to a good team where they have what you are saying he needs built and ready to go. It is going to take 3 or 4 years to get all of the pieces, and even then it might not work out. I don't know of a team picking in the top 15 that has the guard and scorer you described.
@JayHawkFanToo I just don't know who would take this job. Even for all the money we will be able to offer. It is a nightmare of a job.
@justanotherfan Booker is a 6'6 guard and played PG most of this season. He is almost exactly what you described. To me, he would take a lot of pressure off of TY.
I mean, Curry gets exploited on a nightly basis,. I expect they same from TY.
@justanotherfan They want Zenger fired. Part of it is over the renovations. But that is kind of a chicken or the egg scenario.
Donors are basically done giving Zenger any money until the football team is playing well. But, said football team is behind the times as far as facilities go and it makes it harder to recruit.
If they don't win 4 games this season, Zenger and Beaty should be fired. It's really that simple. I think once they fire these two, we will see Donors pockets open back up to an extent. At least enough that they can finally build the practice facility that is already supposed to be built but hasn't been. To top it off, the facility's cost increased by another $9M from the original plans. They still haven't picked a location for it or even got anything other than Board of Regents approval.
Zenger knows his writing is on the wall unless Beaty can perform a miracle here in 2018.
On another note, we should be able to pay top dollar for a coach soon right? We should be out of all of our former horrible coaching contracts at this point, right?
The website is surprisingly well done lol.

I support all KU sports
It may sound weird, but I see this sign as support. Just a different kind of support than you and I give the program.
I do not expect much from Young in the NBA. It took a special circumstance to make Curry great in the NBA. It took 4 years and great draft followed by great draft to build a roster that let him be him. It worked.
But I just don't know that it can be replicated. Steph Curry is a future Hall of Famer. A freak of nature. He has never shot below .400 except for his last season of College. Never once in the NBA. Curry has also turned himself into an elite finisher in the lane as well. Shooting 2pt% over .500 and is finishing at almost a .600 rate this season. Elite.
It will take being in the right spot at the right time for TY to put up numbers anywhere near Curry's and win at the same time.
Honestly, I think the Suns should consider him at #2 overall. Or, trade back and add a couple of picks and then take him around 10. He would play well with Booker and they could start something similar to the Splash Bros. But that's just my two cents.
@wrwlumpy Except Cal. When he hurt Bol Bol's feelings lol.
@BShark it would just surprise me if he risked his NBA stock to stay home again. I feel like that family learned their lesson with Dedric. If Dedric posted the same line he did at Memphis in a P5 conference he would be a first rounder. At least I would think so.

Duke's length in that zone worries me, because even if they are not perfectly disciplined, they can disrupt shooting and passing angles. And I have no idea how we handle Bagley after Saturday. Delgado destroyed us, and he's not nearly the player that Bagley is. Bagley could drop a 30/30 on us. Could we win that game? Sure. We would have to hit 15+ threes, but we could win that type of game. But Bagley could also have an all time great game against us.
We haven't been able to defend the interior either of the last couple of years. Duke is built to exploit that, should that be their gameplan.
I feel good about Bill finding a gameplan that will work against Duke. I feel a UNC junk defense coming in the funniest way.
Really, there are multiple ways to beat this Duke team. They are just as flawed as anyone, and that's why K had to switch to the zone. It is just seeing if Bill can exploit it.
We will be forced to double the post pretty much regardless. It is just about getting the guys to execute the rotation of it. And by that, I mean basically leaving Duval wide open for 3 the entire game. Force him to hit 6 three pointers to beat you.
@BShark I don't expect that as long as KJ and Dedric succeed under Self.
I got Malik. That was surprisingly fun haha.
@wissox You putting Gonzaga in the B10 now?
@chriz But it certainly is the most fun!
If it were changed away from the single-elimination format, I'm not sure that it would generate near the interest or revenue.
@dylans Lol you're in the 96th percentile nationwide! That's doing great!
@BShark Lol that is actually pretty dang funny.
But it is a good point that we don't need another PG.
@BShark What did he even do? I haven't really heard a report.
@dylans But the reason that the line is where it is, is because those are the people that literally put their money where their mouths are. And, when people end up on both sides of that line, you have essentially crowd sourced the score of the game based on what different people see as valuable. I firmly believe that is why it is as accurate as it is.
Thoughts on Jalek Felton?
100% a take.I do not think Izzo has gotten the best from him yet. His PER and stats are very similar to a Freshman Malik and Sophomore Vick. His game is probably somewhere in the middle of those two. I think he would be the exact type of guy you would want 2 years from now. Would help tremendously with depth in case Grimes ends up a OAD.
I love the idea of taking high-end transfers to bolster depth in the future. Let's you recruit OAD talent for immediate needs much better without having a drop off after they leave. I really like the idea of having 1 or 2 transfers each season taking up your last two scholarships. I think that helps ego issues with players and allows you to get better players than you probably would on a 12th and/or 13th scholarship most years.
@kcmohawk other conferences have teams make sweet 16 runs all the time because they have talent. TAMU and Cuse are prime examples right now.
Dare I bring up 1988? We won that tournament because we simply had the best player in CBB.
High level talent matters in March. Very few FF teams donβt have at least 2 future NBA players on them.
