The one good thing coming out of covid is that IDRI will have an RNA vaccine that can sit at room temperature for 8 months+ and able to be refrigerated (not frozen) for over a year and a half.

It won't be ready until 2022, but this is pretty groundbreaking for the future of vaccines, especially for disease in places like Africa and the Middle East.

At the same time - you have to ask the question if he is really that much more of a positive on the court than just playing Harris. If you don't think he is much of an upgrade (stats with Johnson are definitely misleading) than I get why we aren't pressing hard.

I want Johnson though. He is a high level athlete and I think Bill could probably get more out of him than Capel. Turnovers and shot selection are an issue, but we just do not have anyone on our roster that can go fetch a bucket the way Johnson can. He is a playmaker on the floor.

At the same time, the staff probably pays good money to have sources with ears to the ground about who they think ends up shaking loose. They may have a target in mind already.

I would try to hire one of your top 2 candidates and if that doesn’t pan out, hire an interim and wait a year to see who shakes loose

My guess is unless more details come out that are worse than what has so far - Les and Long will be here in the Fall. About 99% sure that what has come out so far isn't enough to rally donors to pay off his contract and the Athletics Department doesn't have the money right now.

So unless I hear more, I expect Les to still be coaching next season.
