Doke needs to be ready with the put-backs.
I feel like if Marcus was playing he would have come up with that defensive rebound.

That's a joke call

They can guard us all over the court mostly without fouling, putting pressure on us. Dotson made a break for it and got a foul, but the Nova player had 100% responsibility to guard his man and didn't slack off looking for help. #Respect
"without fouling."
They would be fouls in some places.
Missing Marcus trying to play small today. Stay with the 4-1. Get Doke back in.
Obvious blocking foul. Don't be ISU, Nova.
Kansas can't get a foul driving to the basket this game. Wild.
That was pretty close to a block.
Okay. I'd like to point out that this run has come with a 4-1 and Tristan at the 4. Like I said.
The way the whistles are going definitely favors Nova. They allow hand-check defense but they are calling moving screens.
Clearly in the arc, dumbass.
They blew that whistle on Kansas before there was even contact. Meanwhile we are getting mugged on the other end with no calls.
Maybe play Tristan. If they beat us with 2's I'll live with it. Just guard the 3-point line and rotate.
They're young. They are going to get better at defense with Jay Wright coaching.
If their 3's start falling we're going to lose. Villanova is like Dayton but they play way better defense.
@Crimsonorblue22 Seriously. I hope he's not hurt too badly.
@BeddieKU23 It's the same problem we had against Dayton. Two bigs on the floor and we struggle to guard the 3-point line. We're lucky they aren't shooting like Dayton was.
This game is kind of like our game against Dayton just not at all.
If we could make lay-ups we would be winning by 6-8 right now.
Damn.
Charge. Bad call.
Joe put on a jersey and play.
Danger time without Dotson. I bet he's in after the timeout or shortly after.
Dotson is so quick. He can get by anyone whenever he wants today.
Doke got fouled. Come on.
Both teams missing open shots. The only one with steady nerves is... McCormack?
The day of reckoning is upon us...
Kansas by 6.

@jhawk7782 2002 and 2003 for me. Will always hate Blake and McNamara.

Jay has a track record of getting his guys amped against us where they really move their feet.
Alumni day for Nova and they are wearing throwback uniforms to honor former players. Feet will be moving.
@nuleafjhawk I think people don't quite understand how much of a freak athlete Wilt was. Freakish strong and freakish fast. It would be like if LeBron were 5-6 inches taller and a lot stronger.
@BeddieKU23 I didn't think 3-point shooting would be a huge issue for us, especially after getting Moss. I'm more worried about our ability to defend them, actually. So far we're doing better than I thought we were - teams are only shooting 29.6% from us from 3 (ranks 64/353).
Maybe our biggest problem is turnovers? We average 14.0 per game (ranks 191/353). The worst is Chicago St at 20.2 turnovers per game. It's actually kind of amazing that we turned the ball over 28 times against Duke and only lost by 2. Think we'd beat them if we played again.
@BeddieKU23 This ranks 57, 77, 108, 137, 147, 180, 189, 223, 238, and 293 out of 353 teams. I don't know, I think our conference just sucks at shooting 3-pointers. That's probably good news for us.
Texas Tech losing to 3-8 Southern Miss at home with 15 minutes left in the 2nd half. Seems like Texas Tech is a good team, but only when they feel like it.
UNC drops out of the Top 25 for the first time in 106 weeks.
Kansas has the longest active streak at 207 weeks. The 2nd longest active streak is Duke at 70 weeks.
@kjayhawks Ya, no way we aren't now. Teams ranked 1, 3, 4, and 5 all lost since the last poll came out. God help us.
And Stanford is shooting 39.8% from 3 as a team. Yikes.
They are shooting 38.1% from 3 as a team. We're not very good at guarding 3's. Hopefully they miss.
I gotta run, but before I go I'd like to point out that in the HCBS era KU is 3-4 against Villanova and 2 of those losses were blowouts. I don't know what the criteria for struggling against teams is but you seem to have a low bar.
We're 3-4 against Villanova with HCBS but have only had an issue with them once?
My reading comprehension is fine, I don't really read your posts because it's a waste of time.
This game is about the opposite of last game in terms of starting slow and then coming on in the 2nd half.
Kentucky looking unimpressive at home today against a not very good Georgia Tech team.
KU was definitely better than Nova in 16, and should have won that game. And yes KU has been historically bad recently against Villanova. How are you always wrong?
Xavier with the baaaaad loss to Wake Forest.
@Texas-Hawk-10 A few of the times I thought KU was a bit better team and lost and Villanova got some nice whistles. 2016 comes to mind. One of the early season tournaments too when we played in a high school gym and Joe DeRosa was officiating I thought we were better, I forget the year.
The point is I think this is one of the season's when we are clearly the better team but we could end up losing. Road games are tough.
@Crimsonorblue22 Doke has zero chill today.
I'm really glad Michigan lost to Oregon today. Their fans were starting to annoy me. I hope Ohio St loses to Kentucky.
@BShark I thought SDS was the Robinson comp too. Good for DMac. He should have a monster junior season.
@Texas-Hawk-10 And the fact that we historically suck against Villanova doesn't concern you?
Auburn is the most overrated team right now. Officials have been giving them games at home. They barely beat Saint Louis today and only shot 13/28 from the line. SLU only shot 8/19 from the line. I wonder how many times both teams have shot under 50% from the free-throw line...
@BShark It was a neutral-site game I think. Still, Delaware isn't too bad. We're a better team than Nova, but road games are road games. And road games against Villanova are one step past that.
Delaware's not that bad, though. And I think Delaware was at home.
