K.J. Adams β€’ Jul 29, 2020 09:00 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Thompson is known as an outside shooter, was Seldon ever called that?

K.J. Adams β€’ Jul 29, 2020 08:59 PM

@BShark Bigtime, I was not knocking his athleticism (just think that Adams - from what I have seen - is more athletic, is all). Ellis was a smart, team player, not flashy but could score in a variety of ways - including above the rim. I do not recall Ellis ever consistently being a crappy defender either.

K.J. Adams β€’ Jul 29, 2020 08:47 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I do like your debates, you bring something to the forum - which is kind of why we are here in the first place.

K.J. Adams β€’ Jul 29, 2020 08:40 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I respect your opinion, but you called Adams a poor man's Perry Ellis and maybe he is, time will tell (I personally, think he's more athletic than Ellis). But that being said, Perry Ellis is one of my all-time favorite Jayhawks and all that he did was win.

K.J. Adams β€’ Jul 29, 2020 05:11 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Maybe because there was more talent around him?

K.J. Adams β€’ Jul 29, 2020 02:59 PM

A Kristian Doolittle comparison, I'd take that and run with it too. Hopefully (if he signs with us), by the time his career at KU is finished @Texas-Hawk-10 and others will be calling him KJ Doomuch.

2021 Recruiting β€’ Jul 28, 2020 04:36 PM

@BShark Okay, call me a silver linings guy and correct me if I'm wrong, but with our abundance of wings doesn't KJ seem to be a better fit than KB?

2021 Recruiting β€’ Jul 28, 2020 02:28 AM

@FarmerJayhawk Thank you for that. If we add him with Clemence, and sign Bates and a PG, I'm good.

2021 Recruiting β€’ Jul 27, 2020 04:29 PM

@BShark Interesting. 24-7 listed him as 100% KU. They were a bit foggy as to his position though, as far as size and position? Is he a 3 or 4 or both? Any idea on his skill set.

Another nice streak for the Crimson & Blue β€’ Jul 27, 2020 03:24 PM

I think we're in pretty good shape. I absolutely loved this year's team, and not a 1 and doner in the whole bunch. Most of the top 10 guys are going to be G League now anyway, atleast until 1 and done is gone. I like the way (and I know that we missed on Brown, but we had too many wings) that coach and his staff are recruiting. Considering what we've been going through investigation wise, I think they've been recruiting their asses off.

Muscadin β€’ Jul 25, 2020 10:13 PM

My opinion, for what it is worth, Gethro is going to contribute - I mean, contribute - this coming season. I am interested in all of your opinions, whether he will or won't, and whether yes or no why?

2022 Recruiting Thread β€’ Jul 25, 2020 10:07 PM

@jayballer73 Good research (I'm lazy).

2023 Recruiting β€’ Jul 25, 2020 10:06 PM

@justanotherfan You know, I won't argue with his decision.

Smoregrahams β€’ Jul 25, 2020 10:04 PM

@jayballer73 Maybe (other than Manning, because he was so important to bringing us back), my second favorite Jayhawk of all time (because he was so important to keeping us there). He is a solid dude.

Smoregrahams β€’ Jul 25, 2020 10:02 PM

@jayballer73 Did I not say that Charlotte (with Kemba being traded) would be a good place for Devonte to land? Come on, give wannabe Coach Marco some credit...

2021 Recruiting β€’ Jul 25, 2020 04:17 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Tyon in place of Lightfoot.

Just what we & Big 12 needed β€’ Jul 22, 2020 04:43 PM

@approxinfinity I was debating Kruger-Drew, to be honest, and won't argue that.

2021 Recruiting β€’ Jul 22, 2020 04:39 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I never said that Agbaji could shoot, but he's been a starter for two years now.

2021 Recruiting β€’ Jul 22, 2020 06:49 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I think Muscadin can and will contribute, even this season. He is big and has handles, can shoot from deep and drive. I am really not understanding why everyone thinks that he's not going to contribute. I heard the same about Agbaji and Braun, and what happened? Muscadin is going to not only play as a freshman, but play pretty well.

Just what we & Big 12 needed β€’ Jul 22, 2020 06:36 AM

@BShark I didn't say he was better than Coach Self, wouldn't want him as our coach. I'm just saying I give him more credit than most. Let me put it this way - in the Big12 I'd go Self #1, Beard 2, Huggins 3, Drew 4, Kruger 5, and then whoever. And depending on what happens this coming season - man, I hope we have one! - I might even (based not on what they have done, but what they are going to do) put Drew ahead of Huggie. Alright firing squad,,, I'm blindfolded, fire when ready....

Just what we & Big 12 needed β€’ Jul 21, 2020 05:50 PM

@jayballer73 Baylor isn't going to go away. Drew can coach, and he's bringing in talent - always has, but this talent is different.

2021 Recruiting β€’ Jul 21, 2020 12:51 AM

@BShark Which could be why Brown went to Baylor. It's not like we are not loaded there, how many we got?

2021 Recruiting β€’ Jul 20, 2020 09:50 PM

Kendall Brown is going to Baylor. Time to move on. Any other combo forwards out there?

2021 Recruiting β€’ Jul 15, 2020 06:48 AM

He's a keeper, but I'm interested in bigs. We've got to sign atleast one, maybe even two bigs.

2021 Recruiting β€’ Jul 15, 2020 06:46 AM

@BShark I hear you. It would be a shame if he chose to waste away at UW with the rest of the Pac12.

2021 Recruiting β€’ Jul 12, 2020 09:08 AM

@JAYHAWKFAN214 I have a gut feeling about this one, think that we'll sign him.

@mayjay The NC State assistant allegedly did handle money, yes. Louisville's case too, bigtime coach and or coaches involvement - KU, not so much; unless you count heresay and fortune telling. I disagree with many on this, but feel that we won't receive much of anything. Vacated wins and loss of scholarships, tops.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I didn't know that. Thanks.

Emily James, associate director of communications for the NCAA? That doesn't sound so independent to me.

@approxinfinity said in What we all knew was happening at Duke with Zion is finally hitting the fan.:

ESPN has a Zion documentary about his one year at Duke entitled "Earn Everything". Is this where they make the case that college athletes should be allowed to earn money for attending college?

You got it, and therein lies the bias. All that ESPN and other media outlets have been doing for two years now is slamming KU, but Coach K and Duke will get a pass. Sorry, but I am not a fan of the media (sports or otherwise) in this nation - far too slanted for my taste.

@Texas-Hawk-10 There would really be no way that they could, unless they also changed the scholarship numbers.

2021 Recruiting β€’ Jul 02, 2020 11:35 PM

@BeddieKU23 Hamilton can coach. That is one team that has not swayed from size, very long every year. They will absolutely kick your ass down low.

2021 Recruiting β€’ Jun 30, 2020 03:27 PM

So, TGF one and done? I could see that.

@drgnslayr All onboard with the masks on order.

Man, is anyone other than myself ready for this nation and world to get back to some version - even just a smidge - of normal? That the world will never be the same I no longer have a doubt, but it seems that our government - both Parties - along with the media do not seem to understand that by their constant bickering and partisanship they only serve to exacerbate problems. What is our new normal going to be, I wonder?

How can I make squash edible? β€’ Jun 29, 2020 03:19 PM

@approxinfinity said in How can I make squash edible?:

Planted way too much squash it seems. How can I make eating it enjoyable?

I've currently got 11 squash plants. Anyone have a way of making it delicious?

Deep fried or sauted.

Stock picks β€’ Jun 27, 2020 04:46 PM

As always, Wal-Mart and Dollar General are hard buys. As far as crystal ball? Look into buying pharmaceuticals, particularly now that there is a mad dash to develop a vaccine coupled with our finally understanding that it is not wise nor should we rely on other nations for our medicines. Also, though very expensive, Space-X.

A name I don't think has been mentioned.

Keon Coleman- KU just made his Top 3.. He's also a 4 star WR for Football and could play both at the next level.

YA we made his top 3 in football. Absolute stud , It's down to South Carolina , Oklahoma & KU.

Coach Self going to play a HUGE part in landing this guy in Football, think we have a pretty decent shot at him. Oklahoma has already got 2 commits rated higher in football. Totally up to him - - do I go to OU and just kind of fall into obscurity behind these other guys OR a chance to go to KU and have a pretty dam good chance of major quality minutes on the field. - - Football is his future , but heard pretty decent in Basketball also

OU is totally loaded at wide receiver, no doubt. Hell, totally loaded on offense, period. The Rattler is going to be QBing for them this year. I'll admit it, I'm looking forward to seeing him play.

2022 Recruiting Thread β€’ Jun 21, 2020 09:35 PM

@jayballer73 No doubt. Players like him and Dick, major in-state talents, we should make every effort to sign. We are starting to concentrate on and seal off the state (because we really had no choice), and need to start signing the bigtimers. And, by the way, the high school basketball talent in Wichita and KC is starting to really impress me.

NOA response from KU discussion β€’ Jun 21, 2020 09:21 PM

@HighEliteMajor If I were Coach Self I would not have admitted to any wrongdoing, while still promising to go scorched earth.

NOA response from KU discussion β€’ Jun 19, 2020 03:11 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I tend to agree. The NCAA bigtime overreached this time. Could be the beginning of the end for them.

NOA response from KU discussion β€’ Jun 12, 2020 04:38 PM

It was the NCAA that threw our case to the IRP, correct? To me, it shows weakness on their part and speaks volumes as to just how flimsy their case against us really is. Why would they do that?

I know guys , you almost have to laugh when you see articles about this far in advance, but just thought what the hell I'd toss it out anyways,

See where KU has offered 2023 Baye Fall out of Senegal the # 6 player in 2023 Ku in on this one early, think they said 6-10/6'11 ? currently has offers from Georgia , Georgetown , Minnesota & KU. plus has many , many schools interested.

KU is the only school thus far that he has been to BEFORE KU offered , wasn't actually a Basketball visit as he was in KC for an AAU event. Said he liked the Campus KU was a big School , liked the Conference.

Curious wasn't there a player that was 7'6 Taco Fall - - am I imaging that? there was wasn't there ? - - Possible Relation ? - - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

No, Taco's brother is named Niagara (but he is only a 7th grader), Baye is no relation. Lol joke! But I was wondering the same thing, whether they were brothers.

Negative. Senior Dave all the way in 21-22.

I hope we have Dave for four years.

Dave doesn't have an NBA style game, he'll be giving a senior night speech in 2022 before heading overseas for his pro career.

I'm not ready to write off his chance at carving out an NBA career. But I do hope he sticks around for four.

Oh, that's right.. Boynton.

Bigtime Drew Gooden fan. That was one hell of a class - Gooden, Collison and Heinrich!
