This is the kind of Pub KU doesn't need β€’ Sep 05, 2020 05:33 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 I am, always do.

This is the kind of Pub KU doesn't need β€’ Sep 05, 2020 05:32 PM

@FarmerJayhawk Thank you, my friend. I couldn't agree more. This isn't a political football for me, it is about our country. And you're right, it is sad

Our nation is going to be okay. We need to start living, and quit waiting to die. Saw on the news today where NYC restaurants are still closed, as far as indoor dining. I mean, can you imagine the hurt that the owners and employees of those places are going through? Many of the people that are most susceptible to the virus won't be going to them anyway, so why keep them closed? Let's be real.... We now know enough about this virus to understand that continuing to keep the country shut down in many, if not all, of those places that still do so is - let's face it - now doing more harm than good.

@approxinfinity no, we don't have to act like the paid talking heads, but too often that is what happens. People start acting as if they are holier than thou, and that their political opinion is the only one that matters.

I readily agree to the rules, don't particularly want to engage in politics on this site anyway.

2021 Recruiting β€’ Aug 30, 2020 05:07 PM

So, we whiffed on a few recruits. All things considered, with the NCAA hovering around since the Billy Preston days I think that the staff has recruited well. I have no doubt that we will sign another player or two. The question is who is left?

@jayhawkblue73 Agree. There is no win with this pandemic. If they play, everyone who is doing classes from home are going to bitch. If they don't play, then all of the players and parents are going to bitch. Keep some states shutdown and the citizens will bitch; remove state restrictions and people bitch that you removed them too early and don't care...

2021 Recruiting β€’ Aug 25, 2020 06:54 PM

All of a sudden it seems to be a damn good thing that Jossell is still around.

Mr. Graham to represent... β€’ Aug 20, 2020 05:26 AM

I'm glad that Devonte went to Charlotte.

So North Carolina is going to do virtual classes, but the football players are staying. That the players want to play there is no doubt and they are adults - can vote and, if necessary, even be drafted. I say, let them play after signing a waiver and for those who don't want to allow them to opt out and give them another year of eligibility. What say you? It's not like they are going to be less safe playing football, if anything with students being gone they are going to be even safer.

2021 Recruiting β€’ Aug 18, 2020 07:06 PM

So, what are the flaws in Bates' game? It seems to be a no-brainer that we try our asses off to sign him, but I'm not Coach Self or his staff. @FarmerJayhawk would there be a reason why we wouldn't make a push?

Final Four bound!!! β€’ Aug 12, 2020 02:30 PM

Man,,, the Pac12 and Big10 canceling all sports until spring affects not only football, but looking ahead - if even possible, at this point - the NCAA Tournament. I have confidence that we'll have a vaccine this winter, just a feeling. So hypothetical (and I know, it's a huge stretch), if we were somehow able to cobble together a basketball regular season how could there even be an NCAA Tournament? And if not, that would obviously all but gut the need to hold a conference tournament.

2020-21 Non-conference Schedule β€’ Aug 12, 2020 02:23 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I think they would be well served to replace those games with teams from the midwest, if possible.

Bill's Evolution - The Athletic β€’ Aug 11, 2020 05:01 PM

I think that Doke has a great shot at going in the first round.

Well, one thing is all but certain, there will not be a college football season. And it's beginning to look very iffy that there will be a basketball one. Man, can we start this year over, please. I demand a redo!

@Crimsonorblue22 and what about you, how is your attitude nowadays?

@Texas-Hawk-10 yeah, the fonts can be pretty damn small.

@wissox I have better luck with my phone, more convenient. Mostly use my computer for writing or email purposes.

2021 Recruiting β€’ Aug 09, 2020 11:29 PM

I think for 2021 we can sign five players, two spots already taken. Who are the other three? That all hinging, ofcourse, on whether we have a season. Let's just say - hypothetical - that we have a season and with two spots already taken we still have 3 to give out (and that is another debate, who will leave early). Who do you think it will be? I never saw Clemence or Adams coming, so don't ask me.

2021 Recruiting β€’ Aug 09, 2020 11:24 PM

Who?

2021 Recruiting β€’ Aug 09, 2020 11:24 PM

@BShark Give us your prediction... Who else do you think that we'll sign? Where is @jayballer73 and @FarmerJayhawk?

@Texas-Hawk-10 Me too, easy access, just make sure to clear your phone of junk once in awhile.

I appreciate your opinion, and certainly do not claim - like most, it seems - to know anything about this virus. They said the warmer months would slow it, yet it seems to be thriving just fine in the hot, humid areas of Florida and Texas, as well as Mexico and Brazil that are getting totally slammed.

Then there is Japan, hot and humid as all hell in the summer and they didn't even really have a shutdown, right off the coast of Korea and China with an aging population, and they have had a little over a thousand deaths. Granted, they wear masks even when they have the flu and when the government told them to wear masks they all did; I sent a family-member who is working there three-hundred of them in June.

I started wearing masks in December. Think I might have even caught it at the Wichita VA when going for my annual checkup at the end of January - coughed for three weeks and they gave me a steroid shot, Z-PAC, and Hydroxychloroquine. Kicked in about week or do. They said since that I had had H1N1 that my body problably had anti-bodies, which they took a sample of.

Don't misunderstand me, I don't want anyone to lose their life - not at all. It just seems that people everywhere are not wearing masks, nor social distancing and they are hanging with large crowds. The people that are working are for the most part following the rules.

@bskeet We have had what, 180,000 people die from Covid? Mostly the infirmed or people who are not very active with underlying issues, on disabilty, whatever the case may be. I am going to be honest, not sure that all of these states remaining damn near closed is a good thing. People are obviously not doing what they should be doing or everyone - most - would not be getting sick, right? So what good is keeping the economy shut down doing? Just want to hear your opinions.

@benshawks08 I hear you, man... And am sympathetic, my friend. I had H1N1, for real, had it for over a month and it damn near killed me, my wife and two kids - no bullshit. We were - even with all of us going to the hospital together on numerous occasions - hacking our asses off for about five weeks. And we caught it in the summer, seems like when you catch bugs during that time that they are the worst.

Possible Bubble Basketball in KC for 20/21 β€’ Aug 07, 2020 06:01 PM

Man, I was thinking - no joke! - the exact same thing this morning after seeing highlights of what the NBA is doing. Obviously, the Big12 and other conferences don't have the resources that the NBA does, but it is doable. I, personally, think that this nation needs college sports, especially now. I might be in the minority here, but it is at this point I believe a national necessity. Kansas City would be the way to go for the Big12 - the most centrally located of all potential venues. Basketball is more doable than football, not near the amount of players or staff.

K.J. Adams β€’ Aug 05, 2020 04:24 PM

@BeddieKU23 I would say that that would be a very solid rotation. I am liking the make-up of our team for not only this season (and I hope we have one, the nation needs a distraction) but also next year.

The NCAA crap will by then be resolved, and all things considered Coach and co. have done a great job in bringing in players. I am just saying, I am not so sure that Brown would have been a better fit than Adams. I think that Tyon will be around for a couple years, would Brown have been able to beat a senior Tyon and then after that Braun out? And let us not forget Enaruna and Wilson (though like some, I think that Wilson might transfer after this season and I wouldn't blame him).

I have never said that Covid is a hoax, have had a family member almost die from it. When H1N1 was rolling around I caught it, was sick for over a month and it damn near killed me.

2021 Recruiting β€’ Aug 04, 2020 10:36 PM

πŸ‘€ Ayomide.

K.J. Adams β€’ Aug 04, 2020 10:30 PM

Hickman will announce for the Jayhawks within the next couple of weeks imo, and also maybe a big. Bates will hold off for a time, waiting to see what he is offered. Yes, call me Marcradamus. I hope πŸ˜‚

K.J. Adams β€’ Aug 04, 2020 12:55 PM

@BeddieKU23 And as @BShark said, add a couple more players and call it day. What I like about this class so far is how it's coming together early, might have the entire class signed by November.

@approxinfinity Not too bad. I when this whole thing started was thinking that we needed to do something similar.

Players Coming Back β€’ Aug 04, 2020 03:05 AM

@BShark Bigtime talent, early exits.

Three hardcore weeks? How would such an order be enforced, with 330 million people? I agree, it would take a massive sense of sacrifice like many including myself have already been doing. I tend to agree with @kjayhawks, don't think the nation can afford to do it now. I have been wearing a mask since January, and go out as little as possible. The problem is and has been that there are a hell of alot of people who just do not seem to care for much of anything other than themselves.

Sorry, this should have been on the General Discussion thread. Can someone move it, please?

K.J. Adams β€’ Aug 03, 2020 11:48 PM

@BShark 7 boards a game doesn't seem too bad for a 6'6 guy, but he was probably one of the taller guys on the court.

What do you think? I, personally, don't think that we can continue this much longer - have to get back to some semblance of normalcy. Everyone?

Players Coming Back β€’ Aug 03, 2020 11:41 PM

@benshawks08 I'm sure that the frat boys, sorority sisters and everyone else are going to obide by that.

Players Coming Back β€’ Aug 03, 2020 04:41 PM

@benshawks08 That is a joke, right?

K.J. Adams β€’ Aug 02, 2020 11:43 PM

You know,,, off topic, but after that last post I have to say this - we'll be okay everyone. I wish all of my KU Bucketeers nothing but the best, and we will beat this fucker! This country and world has faced alot worse.

.....I like the Adams and Clemence pickups, now we need to nab Hickman and Bates

K.J. Adams β€’ Aug 02, 2020 04:35 PM

I think in certain instances Coach if going small ball will play Garrett and Harris at the same time, allowing Harris to be the primary ballhandler. At any rate, after the season that he just had I am never going to doubt Garrett again.

K.J. Adams β€’ Aug 01, 2020 06:27 PM

I feel pretty good about Harris (though he does need to bulk up), but agree that if we sign Hickman Jossell will more than likely, and probably should, transfer. I just wonder if Coach maybe signed him due to keeping an eye on and wanting to sign someone that Jossell might know?

K.J. Adams β€’ Aug 01, 2020 03:38 PM

Hope we land Hickman. With Garrett then being gone, it is certainly a priority. We would still have Jossell, but is he even a true PG or a very small two?

K.J. Adams β€’ Aug 01, 2020 12:46 AM

All things considered (the NCAA cloud and all), if Coach can sign Bates and a solid PG and maybe a big, I'm good. That would easily be a top 6 or 7 class.

K.J. Adams β€’ Jul 31, 2020 06:52 PM

@BShark I saw your post and gotta be honest, I've never heard of the guy. Saw where they were basically saying he is a crystal ball KU commit. If that happens (and I trust in Self and Co.) I don't see Wilson sticking around.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I have never called out your basketball acumen, appreciate what you contribute to the forum. I just disagree with you from time to time. For example, I remember being on Ellis' bandwagon when he was a freshman in high school. What was your assessment of him? Did you think he was a good pickup?

K.J. Adams β€’ Jul 31, 2020 05:57 PM

@FarmerJayhawk Yeah, I was looking for his senior stats as well to post, but couldn't find them. Saw the 18 point something stats, but knew that those weren't even close to what he did this year.

Tristan Enaruna Back In Town β€’ Jul 30, 2020 11:46 AM

I do not want Enaruna to transfer. He has had a year to get acclimated, he'll take a step or two this year.

K.J. Adams β€’ Jul 29, 2020 09:36 PM

So, and what of this past season's team? A total recruiting bust when going up and down the lineup? I am telling you, if Adams signs he is not going to be a chump. When all is said and done (if indeed, he does sign, and I guess we are all assuming that he will) if I am wrong I'll be the first to admit it. Kind of like I was, so far, about Enaruna.

K.J. Adams β€’ Jul 29, 2020 09:05 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Without Ellis those teams (all four of his years) would not have been much of anything.
