@FarmerJayhawk You don't think that they want to play together? That's what I mean, not actually paying them.
@jayballer73 Belatedly, yes. Saw it after seeing the Precious/Hampton updates that keep rolling in and who are more looking like a KU package deal - my Holyfield prediction, Lol!, might need an adjustment.
I believe we will receive a package-deal for next season and will all be living in the Precious Hamptons, Lol. But serious, I think they're a package deal, and that we're going to sign both. If Holyfield soon chooses someone other than KU the deal may be all but done.
@Crimsonorblue22 I don't know for sure that he'll be gone, but just looking at what more and more seems to be a Hampton/Precious package deal coming to Lawrence it sure has that vibe.

@FarmerJayhawk I'm worried based on what I've seen. He's a big time brick mason and he's got a handler and they are going to be focused on his brand and want him to be taking shots.
@Marco Gut feeling? I think if the staff is really getting back in there with Precious then they certainly think the news is going to be bad for Silvio. This would be an absolute 180 from recent vibes.
Gut feeling. I think that he won't be back for the reason that you stated above. Hampton and Precious seem - I may be wrong (it wouldn't be the first, Lol) - to be a package deal. The NCAA really double-dribbled in the handling of De Sousa. "We gave the 2-year ban and, by god, we have to stick to it. We might appear wrong and weak otherwise," is what they could be saying to themselves.
@Crimsonorblue22 Silvio will not be back.
Interesting..... Hampton and Precious (they seem to be a package deal) joining Enaruna, Braun and McBride along with Tucker - who I think we'll also get - is a monster class that - if it happens - could, perhaps, be the best that Coach Self has ever had.
@justanotherfan De Sousa is all but gone, Holyfield will - I smell it - be a Jayhawk. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'll take one year of Holyfield (he's a better fit) over one of De Sousa any day.
@jayballer73 I think that we play Kentucky in the Big12/Sec Challenge, almost sure of it.
@Kcmatt7 Yeah, Australia definitely has some of the healthiest and most educated waiters, waitresses and bartenders that the world has ever known.
@dylans But the women are not, shall we say,,,,, umm,,,,, (P.C. Marco, P.C.) shy.....

Ferguson got paid $500K to go play overseas. I'd imagine RJ is getting offered at least that, probably closer to $750k.
Ironically if he really wants to play he should pick KU instead of overseas. Lots of grown ass men in China and Australia.
Based on previous players who took this route these seem to be the likeliest two. Personally I'd take Australia over China for too many reasons to count.
If he goes overseas, Australia is the best bet. They speak English, so the cultural transition is easier than it is in some of the European leagues. Additionally, while the competition may not be as good, the teams are more well run than the second and third division teams in Europe. And unlike a lot of the European teams, they will play a kid that's only going to be there for a year.
And the women, I've been there, are freaking 🔥 and love them some American. They like our accent the same way that American women do the English.... I'm just saying....
@BShark Ah,,, Fear and Loathing in Lawrence Lol!

Heard from a KU source today they think they got Tucker
Boom!
Let me translate... If it gets to the end of May Kansas must use precision in their decisions to perhaps stand in a good position.
@BShark Where do you think Dante will go, Kentucky?
We need to sign Dante.
@DCHawker Only one bottle? Hell, pull a Hemingway and knock off two or three, Lol!
@KUSTEVE He is going to be an immediate, versatile contributor who has a chance in two to three years to be an absolute beast.
Are you feeling it, guys? It took awhile for me to get a handle on this weird recruiting cycle but I really feel it now..... Enaruna - check! Hampton, Tucker and Holyfield step right up....
It seems that Bill might be a beer guy.
Hampton, Tucker, Holyfield and Enaruna. Feeling it yet?
@jayballer73 I agree with you. But damn that would be nice, wouldn't it?
Are you feeling it...? Hampton and Tucker,,,, Holyfield and Enaruna,,,,?
@FarmerJayhawk Miles and Manning (after Manning gets fired) - I want both. I don't want Danny as a head coach but do want him for his recruiting and ability to work with big men, ditto for Miles with guards. Personally, I think our program has suffered since Danny left for Tulsa.
@BShark Not so sure about the road to hell. The problem that I have with the whole thing is that it only takes into account the right of the student-athlete and not the program or university. If the rights of only the student-athlete are important then why do we need the NCAA?
You know guys (yeah, I'm going to say it), I'm not a big fan of - weren't these Condi Rice's recommendations? - these new agent and NBA draft rules. Who is going to come back? "Gee, I don't know, we'll let you know when we do."
@Crimsonorblue22 I think that Aaron Miles, as some have said, would be a great fit. Those Washington/West Coast ties are intriguing, to say the least.
@Texas-Hawk-10 But who else is outrecruiting him? I might be out of the loop. I'm not sure that Howard knew that the players, all highly regarded, would be busts.
@Crimsonorblue22 Just a thought? Townsend....
@jayballer73 Howard is the obvious keeper. We need atlleast one new assistant as a replacement for whoever is the weak link among the others. Loyalty dies hard, but in the end an assistant needs to be able to recruit.
Happy trails, Sean..... Personally, if I were him, I would have already resigned. I mean really, what's the point unless you want to go out like Pitino.
@jayballer73 I hope we are his last stop. As far as I know, don't think that he has anyone else scheduled. I agree with you, Tucker is a must-get! Hampton is a 1 while Tucker is a 2 (he has a good outside game) who can also play the 3.
@drgnslayr I wasn't arguing, trust me. I rarely argue, too damn good at it. You didn't offend me in the least. What was it that The Boz said the NCAA acronym stood for, National Communists Against Athletes?
@HighEliteMajor sorry about that, got you confused with @drgnslayr who I took no offense to.
@BShark Man, I couldn't agree more.
Well, if true (Hampton going to Memphis) that would seem to be saying - yes, I'm reading tea leaves here - that Dotson is going to come back. I've never said that I don't want him to come back, only that I didnt think that he would. Reason being, I think Hampton wants the ball in his hands and that he doesn't want another PG around. Anyway, we shall see. PS - to be honest, I'm not a big fan of these late commits.
@BShark Imagine that, the Asses From Young Lasses Campaign.
@Kcmatt7 I think he's going to commit.
@HighEliteMajor Hitler? Sorry, can't go that far. Hitler murdered and or gassed to death millions of innocent people. As far as I know the NCAA has not and does not order the death of anyone.
He's drinking some of that badass Kansas kool-aid, as we speak... I don't see us letting this guy get away. I think, from all that I have gathered, that we are recruiting him at the 2 and Hampton at the 1, which only strengthens my belief that Dotson will not be back.
Tucker, Holyfield, Enaruna, Hampton, McBride and Braun, where would that class rank?
@nuleafjhawk I'm not sure if you did or not. I was not trying to call you out or anything. But do agree - though we still need to recruit it - that the midwest has not been too kind lately.
@Kcmatt7 If he were to play this coming season I would expect for him to play well enough to be drafted, even if only flashing a ten or twelve ppg average, atheticism, rebounding and defense.
@nuleafjhawk Paul Pierce - California. Not that I agree with you about giving up the Midwest.
We gonna land some Hampton and Holyfield, and Enaruna as well, just watch and see. If we play our cards right Tucker, too. Top 5 class with Braun (who I am high on) and McBride (who I am not low on). Coach recruiting (he be pissed!) hard for 2020 and 21, we will be just fine. Don't forget, he'll only have to add pieces, we'll actually have a bench.
The gloves have come off, it seems.
@jayballer73 Okay, I've stepped away from the pipe, but just for a moment Lol... I'm not implying that Holyfield is more athletic than De Sousa (hell no!), only that Holyfield coupled with Dok would be a better fit. Holyfield would be a one year pickup, as would - if ruled eligible - De Sousa. If I had my pick I'd choose Holyfield.
@BShark Yeah, unlike most people I was pretty pumped about the signing of Braun and McBride. They coupled with Garrett and Dave will allow us to build depth.
@BShark I agree, just haven't said it. If I had to pick I'd take Holyfield over De Sousa, and it wouldn't even be close.
