National Media Blackout! • Jul 13, 2015 02:23 AM

When i combed through the regular media, ESPN, SI, Rivals.com, even USAB.com, i was suprised why USA Men Basketball in WUG is not covered! On USAB.com, the Women's Team making the Gold Medal round is on the front page.

Not sure why that is the case? Maybe it is the Jersey's decision that resulted in this. Anyone has any idea?

In my opinion, I think if it is the "JerseyGate", it should be on the Coaching Staff and not "penalize" the young Americans who have played so well for their country.

Dwight Coleby To Kansas • Jun 01, 2015 01:55 AM

@Bosthawk Coleby will sit a year. Jamari and Hunter are fine, they will be gone when Coleby is eligible to play.

To long for recruits to read • May 05, 2015 04:34 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 I think he plays multiple hands. This kind of self reflection is good PR.

To long for recruits to read • May 05, 2015 04:32 PM

Well, I think he is directing to his 2016 targets in view of the mounting failure to stack his 2015 recruits. If he is able to stack again in 2016, I bet he will come up with a new name for the playing time sharing scheme (which is named Platoon this year).

Must say that the guy is good at what he is doing.

Cheick Trivia • May 04, 2015 02:28 AM

Hurt (KSU): Hey! Is that Embiid?

Ibeh (Texas): Nay. I played Embiid before. That is not him. He is in the League now. The guy is Thon. Coach Smart told me I have to play him smart because this guy is smarter than Smart.

Rico (BU): He is not Thon, he speaks a very foreign sounding language. Coach Drew told me he is over rated and he only Drew fouls. They call him Shake (Cheick).

McKay (ISU): Tell me about it, he Cheick (checks) me everywhere, I can’t Cheick (shake) him loose all day long. Coach Hoiberg told me that I have to “bypass” him. I don’t know what that means, maybe his operation got into him.

Diallo a Jayhawk • Apr 29, 2015 12:48 PM

@ZIG Total agreement. In this site, we can relax and enjoy the Buckets Gurus' takes on next year's line up, potential, and what other pieces we need. I just love this site so much more. We always move on and forward! RCJH!

Diallo a Jayhawk • Apr 29, 2015 05:43 AM

Wow! Bickerings going viral on the other site over a Great Signing! I just love KU Buckets! RCJH!

Congratulations to Ellis! RCJH!

Calipari to be inducted to the HOF! • Apr 05, 2015 08:55 PM

@truehawk93 In the espn article mentioned he brought three schools to final four and two were vacated later.

What make them think the third one will be legit!

Calipari to be inducted to the HOF! • Apr 05, 2015 08:43 PM

This is something I cannot understand. If what he does for UK now is to be found with fouls, such induction will be a joke.

Rick Barnes • Mar 28, 2015 11:55 PM

If Marshall goes to Texas, maybe Conner can transfer there? Just joking!

let them play • Mar 27, 2015 06:09 AM

@truehawk93 I agreed. Without sounding like a sore loser, I found it hard to believe that in a non-free market (all scholarships are the same and rules are governed by NCAA), such congregration of OADs is feasible. What intangibles are UK selling that are so good? Posh Housing? NBA Lottery Picks Track Records?

If it is NBA Lottery Picks Track Records, then, all 2015 Class should come to Lawrence.

I get it when you are Google, Apple, Microsoft, you get all the talents you want.

let them play • Mar 27, 2015 02:34 AM

Someone is wanting that 40-0 apart from UK.

ND and that other team... • Mar 27, 2015 01:17 AM

Oh No! They will now talk about that Sunday game for a year!

I love KU basketball • Mar 23, 2015 01:49 AM

@wrwlumpy I may actually make the trip since I am on this part of the world. Anyway, it has been fun. It has been great to have all of you on this board to make this season memorable. There are many great basketball concepts and observations that will stick for years to come. I hope we will keep this place warm. Thank you all. RCJH!

KU vs WSU - Match Ups • Mar 22, 2015 07:22 AM

Forget about all the hype. Think like a Jayhawk (Blue Blood), Behave like a Jayhawk, Play like a Jayhawk, Win like a Jayhawk, and March on like 2008 and 2012! RCJH!

KU vs WSU - Match Ups • Mar 22, 2015 06:29 AM

@JayHawkFanToo If we win tomorrow, which we will. I think is better to face a Non "B" name school. RCJH!

Big 12 schedule Sunday • Mar 22, 2015 06:24 AM

@JayHawkFanToo Any former Hawk will come before anyone else. F.O.E.! RCJH!

KU vs WSU - Match Ups • Mar 22, 2015 03:51 AM

@KUSTEVE Anywhere, anytime, Mizzery!

@KUSTEVE Thanks for the correction. My bad. Ought to respect names.

Starters

Darius Carter SR 6’7” 245 lbs 11.2 ppg

Tekele Cotton SR 6’3” 205 lbs 9.6 ppg (29.2% 3pt%)

Evan Wessel JR 6’4” 218 lbs 4.2 ppg (34.2% 3pt%)

Ron Baker JR 6’3” 222 lbs 15.0 ppg (39.4% 3pt% attempted most)

Fred VanVleet JR 6’0” 195 lbs 12.7 ppg (36.9% 3pt%) 5.3 apg

Bench

Rashard Kelly FR 6’7” 232 lbs 3.0 ppg (44.4% 3pt%)

Zach Brown FR 6’6” 213 lbs 2.9 ppg

Shaquille Morris FR 6’7” 261 lbs 4.9 ppg

WSU relies heavily on 4 Starters (Carter, Cotton, Baker and VanVleet). Mason and Selden will be busy guarding VanVleet and Baker. This game will feature the battle of the Guards.

Size wise, KU is taller and bigger. Ellis, Lucas and Taylor should attack the paint, pound the board so that the perimeter would be open for good 3pt looks for Oubre, Greene and Selden.

If Mason and Selden can contain their guards. The match up is favorable to KU.

NCAA Tourney Exposes The Big 12 • Mar 20, 2015 07:08 AM

I will defer my comment until tomorrow. RCJH!

Down go the Cyclones • Mar 20, 2015 03:36 AM

“I think our team's gonna step up and even be deeper next year,” said Hogue, who joins Bryce Dejean-Jones as the only rotation guys not returning to next year's Cyclones. “You're gonna have a more mature Georges Niang, a more mature Monté (Morris) and everybody's gonna up their game another level. Next year, I'm telling you now, I believe that Iowa State will take the regular-season championship. I believe it for sure.”

Hogue played 23 minutes tonight and score 0 point.

Down go the Cyclones • Mar 20, 2015 01:57 AM

Although I am disappointed with B12 early exits, I am wishing for Georgetown or Utah to face Duke next week. Only one can prevail to face Duke. If they put Duke down, yeah! Remember we beat Georgetown and Utah this year. RCJH!

Down go the Cyclones • Mar 20, 2015 01:43 AM

I guess ISU knew now how does it feel to be somebody else's Super Bowl! And, we have plenty of such experience. If we get thru NMS and WSU get thru IND, it will be their Super Bowl in 2+ decades. Thank goodness we are used to seeing those hungry eyes and eager bodies! RCJH!

For Lulu • Mar 17, 2015 04:45 PM

@HighEliteMajor Your gender was not in doubt when you revealed your name on the other site. Glad to have you here. I too am learning from you.

Another Super Bowl Loss... • Mar 17, 2015 04:07 PM

@drgnslayr I am all in with you. Why an outright champ of Big 12 suddenly is so weak? Isn't that we won the toughest conference? Heck, why can't KU and ISU play Game 4 for the NC? We are legit!

@JayhawkRock78 May the KU butterflies all over the world flap their wings, it may just do it. Thanks!

@KU-Flyer Great Post! We may die, our cause will never die. Year after year, even after I am gone, my cause to cheer for KU will never die. I have the same passion every year since 1984. RCJH!

Another Super Bowl Loss... • Mar 17, 2015 02:18 PM

@nuleafjhawk With all these media things talking us down, if I am on the team, i will bust my everything to see UK at the E8!

@wissoxfan83 You are right. Tanveer Bhullar, Center, 7' 3" 335lbs Redshirt Freshman, Toronto, Canada. So, we don't need to put on the football gears!

I think you are also right about Kenpom's. RCJH!

Like this from Pat Forde:

Best Case: After a perfunctory punking of New Mexico State, the Jayhawks tell Wichita State, “Careful what you wish for.” Kansas beats down the uppity Shockers, putting them back in their place for the foreseeable future. In the Sweet 16, Bill Self’s hammer-it-in offense mauls Notre Dame inside to set up a date with Kentucky. Cocky after beating Kansas by 32 in November, the Wildcats aren’t ready for the challenge of a drastically improved team. Jayhawks don’t shoot 20 percent this time, battle admirably inside and Bill Self hands John Calipari another soul-crushing NCAA tournament defeat. Not finished there, Kansas marches into the Final Four and beats Wisconsin and Duke to win it all. Self signs 20-year contract extension and all underclassmen stay in school. Meanwhile, Iowa State loses early and Kim Anderson is still the coach at Missouri.

Kenpom mentioned KU has the toughest draw. And, Vegas' odds for KU vs WSU is less than 2 points. Now, it is time to prove that LUCK Factor Kenpom has assigned to us. Be the luckiest team win! RCJH! And, if LUCK really is what helped us thus far, maybe Cliff will play this week.

CLONES CLONE BAD BALL • Mar 16, 2015 12:53 PM

@REHawk Maybe we get more than the Marines' help. CIA may have come together with the President and taught the team how to mis informed during interviews. RCJH!

NEW MEXICO STATE AGGIES • Mar 16, 2015 12:45 PM

Great Post! I think we miss each other. I put up the stats, you put up nice pictures! RCJH! Hope to regain some normalcy here!

Starters

Barry SR 6'8", 13.3 ppg

Siakam FR 6'9", 13.0 ppg, 7.7 rpg

Mullings SR 6'2", 12.6 ppg

Nephawe SR 6'10", 10.4 ppg, 7.6 rpg

Baker SO 6'0", 9.5 ppg

Subs

Eldrige SR 6'1", 8.1 ppg

Wilkins FR 6'10", 3.1 ppg

Their starters are not small and they are led by 3 seniors. All 5 can score. I think we need to out rebound them (Siakam and Nephawe are their key post guys).

I think we have more bodies than them, they have 7 and we can go 8.5 or 8.75 (0.5~0.75 refer to Hunter). My guess is Bad Ball will win the game. Early driving at the paint to create foul troubles for them (specifically Siakam and Nephawe) would be good. If you look at the rest of their roster, mostly are Freshmen. If we can make their senior post players sit, Ellis and Lucas will enjoy the party. RCJH!

Oubre needs to be on Barry.

Bring on the Shockers! • Mar 16, 2015 05:32 AM

@Jayrawks1 Karma is a funny thing. Sometimes, when you purposely wanted it to happen, it will just do the opposite. I think NCAA plotted it. Indiana may just do the Karma thing. Until we schedule them on our own, we may never meet them. RCJH!

@HighEliteMajor This is from KuSports' Article "Jayhawks await NCAA Tournament: by Bedore:

Of the NCAA Tournament, Self said: “I like our team. I like our chances. Who knows about the draw yet, but this (loss) isn’t the end of our season today. I told our guys if you play, you might as well win. There is no question that we didn’t compete to win and they (Cyclones) outplayed us. But hey, by 6 o’clock (Sunday, Selection Show starts at 5 p.m., on CBS) nobody is going to be thinking about this game and Iowa State won’t be thinking about this game either by 6 (Sunday). It’s the quickest turn on an emotional game we have all year long.”

My reason is from what HCBS said: "But hey........all year long."

One clarification, I think if the Team will themselves to win yesterday, he will be happy. But, I really don't think he was willing them to win.

As I said above, we always bounce back from a loss. So, winning the next one is not a question. Thanks to Selection Committee (I think they wanted this game, if Mizzery is in, they will also want to schedule it) to hand WSU to us. I expect both teams would like to show who is the State of Kansas TEAM. It would be hard fight and I like our chances. With a win over WSU, I am the Team will be amped up for the next game. RCJH!

I think HCBS did not want to win the ISU game. I think he knows it is meaningless. He also knows that his Team always bounce back from a loss. I think he knows to rack up 9 in a row is hard for this current team. I think he thinks 4 is manageable. Why 4 and not 6? Because 4 is enough to justify his pay check and also enough for us the fan base.

I think we will see 2 more Bad Ball games, then an Outside in game from Kelly, Seldon and Greene will reappear in the S16 game. When we win that, the next opponent will be left guessing which Kansas Team HCBS is going to send in for the E8.

Call me an Ultra Optimistic Fan. RCJH!

Selection Sunday • Mar 15, 2015 01:06 PM

Agreed with cragarhawk and joeloveshawks. A 1 Seed makes a difference for the 1st week. A 2 or 3 Seed make no difference for the 1st week.

Selection Sunday • Mar 15, 2015 12:58 PM

@Kip_McSmithers ISU is 9th on RPI and 6th SOS, we are 2nd and 1st on those. I don't see that happening.

CLONES CLONE BAD BALL • Mar 15, 2015 07:48 AM

After the post game interview, we can tell that HCBS don't really care about amping the Team up for the W. Because, as he said, W or L, everyone will forget about this game by 6 p.m. on Sunday. He is right. So, there is no point to put everything in for a game that means little.

As for positive spins, I have 4:

I think we have now a solid 8 man rotation with the 9th (Hunter) coming along in a Team that has no Cliff. And, if you look at ISU, they were riding their 7 man rotation hard (that is comforting to know we have 8.75 guys readied for the Dance).

We came out with no new injuries (that is a plus).

We have another close game experience (every close game is priceless especially one with ranked team, which is the kind of team we will likely to face in S16).

We have Seldon primed for the Big Dance!

RCJH!

CLONES CLONE BAD BALL • Mar 15, 2015 07:33 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 I have no doubt that we make the 2nd weekend. I also would like to see ISU, OU and maybe Baylor do the same. I believe that B12 this year is that good. It is not the the years past where usually only 1 or 2 teams make the 2nd weekend.

CLONES CLONE BAD BALL • Mar 15, 2015 07:20 AM

EZ guys. What is the worst? That is we will lose one more game. That is still better than last year 10 Ls Team. And, we will tie with Mizzery on one thing, they have 9 Ws for this season and we will have 9 Ls for this season.

Of course, I wish for not tying with Mizzery.

@Crimsonorblue22 I would love to have him, but minutes wise, he can't be included for the Battle Ready Project yet.

UK 9 = 2x Harrison, Booker, Towns, Cauley-Stein, Lyles, Johnson, Ulis and Lee.

When Hunter can average 10-12 minutes a game for the next 4 to 5 games, he would be playing Marcus Lee type of minutes.

@drgnslayr Ellis, Seldon, Mason, Oubre, Lucas, Greene, Jamari, Devonte, and Hunter (total of 9, I think UK also has 9 currently) will be enough for us to make a deep run!

I think Lucas and Hunter need 4 to 5 more games before they are as ready as the UK 9.

@HawksWin Judgement Week coming! Here is to say that 4 out of 7 B12 should survive 1st week.

And, hope 1 of the 4 will be a No. 1 Seed Slayer!

Today is the day to get Lucas battle ready. I think we need to protect Ellis and we are going to need extra bodies to bang in the big dance.

And, I would like to see the same D from Team again. Bad Ball and Good D are good Blood Pressure medication.

In order not to mix up the Bad Ball topic, I am switching the seeding discussion here.

I think today is crucial to win to secure our 2 Seed as Maryland and Notre Dame can displace us if we lose and they win.
