Well I was wrong. My goodness I should be on 247 sports! My predictions are just as good as any lol! Matt Scott changed his prediction yesterday just to keep his % higher rather than sticking to his guns. BOOOOOOO!
Then why are you on this thread waiting to see where he goes?
@BShark Unless you were on a 3 way call with Scott and Langford then you don't know either.
BShark said:
Matt Scott just changed his CB to Indiana. IT'S DONE FOLKS.
Matt Scott doesn't know. I doubt that Langford called up Scott to tell him to change his prediction. None of these guys have any real info, only hearsay.
I have been reluctant to actually say anything unless I was really sure. You can go back to Diallo's recruitment and see that I scooped him better than the media. I said moments b4 he announced that he was active on his fb and it will happen any second. I called Wiggins too. I am not tooting my own horn as much as I am just telling yall that I am confident its KU.
Grimes and Langford have long been viewed as a package deal. With KU's entire backcourt departing it makes it an easy transition for Langford to step into. His family have said it was a business decision all along. When you are making a business decision you go where you will get the best training. Out of the 3 schools KU is the best decision. Langford has always wanted to play with the best. Go look about how he was trying to pair up with other top guys clear back in October 2017. He and Grimes have taken pics together recently. He is not just stirring the pot by tweeting about playing with Grimes. He really wants 2. There will be some upset IU fans tomorrow.
I watch trends. I talk to recruits. I talk to players. I talk to active members on the team. All indications are KU. He knows he gets to step in and start for the preseason no1 team in the country. No competing for starts and he knows Coach Self has been successful with similar guards.
I will just put this here...!0_1524695119046_cba6b100ba26b137542ec0dc2b4cc223.jpg ↗
Lifting the OAD rule or making freshmen ineligible to play in college is a good start. Like I have said before it would stop most of the dirty dirty that is going down right now... Recruiting would change a lot! The top recruits would be signing really late! The "way too early top 25" would be hard to do until after NBA combine. UK and Duke would be sweating bullets all year wondering if their verbal commitments are going to go pro before ever stepping foot on campus? I like it a lot!
Interesting rumor going around here in TX. UT is not accepting college applications from the state of Colorado? Supposedly its because they are all high on the Devils Lettuce?
I caught that. I am just joking around.

@Statmachine You have to be careful giving young black men that kind of money at that age. They might do weed or eat crack. It's a slippery slope.
You mean like Michael Phelps? Oh wait he is not black!
@benshawks08 What difference does it make if Gatorade wants to pay Wiggins a million to advertise? So remove his scholarship but not his remaining eligibility and let him play. As long as he meets the minimum requirements to be considered full time student and meets the grade requirements who gives a cats banana?
If a kid has 100k followers on Instagram and wants to advertise bottled butt toots then he or she should be able to capitalize on that!
I think that the power 5 should step up and make their own paid league!

@Statmachine Replacement players are waiting in the wings. The NCAA is old, athletes are only effective while young. Who can wait longer? A rich organization or athletes that are yet to be paid?
Its real simple the NCAA makes most of its money from a hand full of teams. These teams rely on the top recruits to preform. I will use Duke, UK, and Alabama as a reference. If you took those 3 schools top athletes off of their roster how much would these schools and the NCAA lose? UK and Duke for example. Their season depends on these kids suiting up next year. How much money do they lose if they have a really bad year? Not only the students but the Schools associated with these players would be putting pressure on the NCAA. Does the NCAA commissioner lose his job if they take a nose dive financially? The NCAA would have to take action.
What would happen if student athletes organized and walked out until they were given a fair compensation for entertaining the free world? What would the NCAA do if all student athletes started a movement? How much money would they lose before they made a decision? If I were in school I would get the latest 2019 mock draft for college basketball, football, and baseball. I would organize a shut down or walk out with about 500 of the best athletes in college sports and see how they like that? I am willing to bet the NCAA would cave! These kids should get paid if they are not allowed to enter the draft due to age requirements or restrictions from the NBA, MLB, or the NFL. The guys that are getting paid should not be on scholarship but should be allowed to use all 4 years of eligibility and pay their own way. Then if they chose to get their education before entering the draft they could. Kids like Vick could take care of his family and finish school. Its a win win for college sports and would keep most kids in school that were struggling to make ends meet. I believe it could improve the NCAA product and produce a higher graduation rate if it were executed properly. Just my opinion.
Shoe companies and agents are capitalizing on these kids by getting an early jump. NCAA coaches are visiting jr high's to evaluate new talent to get an early advantage over opposing coaches. People tend to forget about rules when big money is waived in their face. The only real fix is to let 18 year olds enter the NBA draft and move on. That would cut out almost all of the problem. I mean Weed is illegal almost everywhere yet people still smoke it. The law only works if people choose to obey it.
Rico Gathers was a basketball standout for Baylor, Tony Gonzalez played basketball during college before entering the NFL. Maybe KU's football team needs more than Gatorade to put a winning season together?
“He’s a great athlete and I think he’s gonna help us a lot on the football field,” Dineen said. “And it was good to finally see him again.”
KU quarterbacks hit Sosinski for a completion twice on his first day back, and Beaty said the big target from Chandler, Ariz., didn’t get tackled on either.
“People fell off of him,” the fourth-year KU coach related. “So we're obviously really excited to have him back with us.”
That's a statement!
Thanks for posting that! I am encouraged about his progress. Changing a culture is a hard thing to do BUT imagine if his winning attitude and hard work rubs off on his counterparts on the field? Can he carry his basketball work ethic to the football field? If so do others follow? Does the football coaching staff make conditioning changes based off one individuals improvement? Only time will tell?
James Sosinski said in an interview back on 12/19/17 that there is a huge difference between basketball and football conditioning. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=james+sosinski&&view=detail&mid=742E94866FEAF9F89E56742E94866FEAF9F89E56&&FORM=VRDGAR ↗
How much, if any improvement does Sosinski see on the field this upcoming football season? Does KU football take a new approach on their conditioning if Sosinski makes huge gains on the field? It will be interesting to see if anything comes of this?
The last line in my segment stated it was my opinion. I have one and no one has to like it lol
Bill is clean or KU would be another OAD factory. Its really simple. Self has the resources to flip the switch and make KU another OAD playground but he has not. Miller sold his soul to the OAD devil and lost. As much as I cant stand Calipari he could be doing things the legal way? Duke maybe? The cold hard truth is that KU is just as strong a brand as any and has yet to land 3 in the top 10 like the other schools listed. I do not believe that Bill Self is involved at all! I can not say that for the other 2 schools I just listed. Yeah Pat, go f–k yourself.
Kcmatt7 said:
@Crimsonorblue22 If Bill really is clean, I don't think he cares what anyone is saying about him. Especially jealous little bitches.
Pre John Calipari UK was not an OAD factory. Pre Sean Miller Arizona was not an OAD factory. Duke is Duke and their coach has been there forever so he has either jumped on the train OR he has just been able to out recruit and land top recruits at a high rate without using dead presidents. It is well documented and speculated that Calipari is linked to WorldWide Wes and through connections he has been assisting UK with recruiting. http://www.fromthisseat.com/index.php/blog/19112-are-kentucky-s-john-calipari-and-william-worldwide-wes-wesley-cheating-the-system ↗ Now you have other schools that will hire a recruits family member to funnel a couple of guys in like the Porters. KU has used that totally legal loop hole in the past but there was MONEY involved there too (as far as someone was getting a pay raise)! It is pretty obvious that the majority of these OAD's attend a handful of schools. The OAD's are the only guys an agent or agency would take a 100k gamble on. I read somewhere that Vegas is where most of these money transfers take place. If an agent goes in and buys 100k worth of chips and places them in the hands of a top recruits handler and the handler cashes them in and claims them as winnings it is untraceable. Sounded legit? All I am saying is that IF Self wanted to purchase players then KU would also be an OAD factory. He would be landing 4-5 OAD's every year just like these other schools. If anyone should be worried it should be UK and possibly Duke. Just my opinion here guys!

Nah, Moore is a combo guard at best. Being small doesn't make you a PG. In fact size doesn't effect position at all. Ben Simmons is a 6'10'' PG in the NBA.
How many 5'11" centers are in the NBA?
Everyone has a preference and has the right to that. Selfish or not its their preference. Fighting about whos right or wrong is silly and slamming someone while justifying your opinion is even more silly and childish. Some of y'all look foolish but hey, if that's what butters your biscuit then get after it! I love getting on here to see what y'all are talking about. It keeps me in the loop, plugged in to KU basketball, and I appreciate each and every one of y'all's contributions!

@jayballer73 Now that I have been in the South for almost a dozen years, "y'all" comes out unbidden even from my Yankee lips numerous times. But I plead that living here is like immersion in a foreign language--you pick it up rapidly.
It is quite handy when servers are talking to a whole table at once. I literally heard, a while ago, "Hi, y'all! I'm Lisa, y'all's waitress. Can I get y'all something to drink now, and come back for y'all's order?" No awareness she said it. Believe it or not.
Same here. I grew up in Kansas but I live in Texas. Just so y'all know..
You all know who you all are lol
You all liked Tarik and that was a 1 year deal. I didnt hear any of you bashing him or Self when Tarik came on for one year. Infact I have heard most everyone speak highly of Tarik. How does that work exactly? Grad transfer or OAD? God forbid a young man turn down his future and millions so that you can feel good about KU basketball?
I love it when you all fight about dumb stuff. All that matters is next year period. Does Langford make KU better next year? Yes! Does he move forward and promote KU in the future? Probably? Who gives a rip about what makes you all happy as alumni or fans? Selfs job is to field the best team possible. He has one opening to fill that puts KU in title contention. Who do you hire? The person that gives you the best shot at next years goal. Not 4 years from now goal.

Replying to @BSpeaks_24 @FloHoops and 2 others
He canceled his visit to IU right after Newman and Vick declared. That’s no coincidence
And that is perfectly fine BUT he can work with our FR PG when coach Self is unavailable. Show our new PG the playbook, show him where everyone on the court needs to be, how Self wants things done. He will be great for the program and a suitable substitute for our starting PG or even start if need be?
NaadirTharpe still started at KU as a PG for a season right?
@BShark Bill Self would have said Simmons was not a point guard too. He would have played him as a stretch 4 because that is what he does. He also said our team was soft. He says things to motivate players and as Malik Newman said "he knows the right buttons to push". If you go watch film you would see that he is indeed a PG.
I am not sure that most of you have checked out Moore's highlights or full games? If there is one guy on next years team to get pumped about its Moore. I have watched some videos on youtube and WOW! He is really good in transition. He blows past defenders and drives to the rim fearlessly. He makes big shots through contact. He utilizes ball screens very well. He utilizes angels similar to Ellis to make shots. Some of you need to go check out his Cal tape again. I have been told that he is a small 2 guard by some folks but that is just not true! He is the real deal and from what I see will be a KU favorite once yall see him in action. Do your self a favor and go check him out! Its worth the watch.
Very similar situation with IU where they offered Romeo Langford's gf a full ride Volleyball scholarship...it may work but it's clearly desperate.

KU loses Graham, Svi and now Newman.. K-State brings back their entire team.. could it be... the year? Asking for #EMAW friend
BREAKING: #KUbball guard Malik Newman will enter the NBA Draft and plans to hire an agent...
@drgnslayr I think we all give him the credit he deserves. He has made some major strides. That being said after all of the improvement he has made he is still a one dimensional player.
I heard someone talk about Embiid, and Simmons before the season started. They said that Embiid and Simmons were like a one hit wonder at this stage in their career . They could get out there and be GREAT for a couple songs BUT Golden State was like a headliner band that could play all night long and everyone would be able to sing every song they played.
Doke might be able to play the cowbell for one of these bands BUT could easily be replaced any day of the week by a Jahlil Okafor or any other Free Agent.
As far as the Subject of Doke. If I were a NBA GM #1 Doke's conditioning is not good. He could only average 20 something mpg. He wouldnt fair well in back to back games and he is too heavy. His weight adds to being injured. #2 Doesnt rebound at a NBA level. #3 no outside game. #4 no midrange game. #5 free throws. He has a lot of work to do and wouldnt make the roster at the end of the summer on any NBA team. There are a lot of free agents who I would rather have on my team if it were my money.
@FarmerJayhawk I want to watch!
@Fightsongwriter IDK? The Morris brothers, Robinson, and Withey were no scrubs.
My excitement for next season is through the roof! I took a trip back in time to the 2010-11 team which had Robinson, Morris, Morris, and Withey. They averaged as a whole 40.7ppg and 24.1rpg that year. If you take next years group of guys (Doke, Lawson, Lawson, De Sousa) and calculate a per40 using their combined stats you get 38.8ppg and 22.96rpg. That is assuming that no one got any better over the last year?
That 2010-11 team didn't have a guard that averaged double digits, no big name guards, and to be honest Morningstar, and Reed would ride the pine behind our rotation guards next year period. As a team in 2010-11 they averaged 81ppg so their guards averaged 40.3 by committee. If you take Moore, Vick, Garrett, and Cunliffe's and combine them for next year you get 86mpg and 29.5ppg. That leaves 34mpg for our 5star guys to get another 10.5 points to match our 2010-11 teams production (which was 5th in the country that year).
Now using advanced metrics with the incoming 5 star freshmen and Kick ass transfers. You get an increase in minutes from the new guys and a lowering of minutes from our current leftover roster you get a total Production of...
Cunliffe, Moore, Vick, Lawson, Doke all have 3 years of College basketball exp. I expect them to gobble up a lot of minutes until the Freshmen get up to speed
So possible UK in the Big12/SEC challenge, Nova, ASU, Michigan State, Louisville, Tennessee, and Stanford. That is a brutal Non Conference schedule and Coach Self is not done! Something tells me KU's record is not gong to be squeaky clean going into Conference play!
