I would also imagine there is still some family turmoil over what to do as well.
TBH I really think he thought he could just ride to pine for a season and enter the draft. I think Coach Self said "no way Jose". That is why he said he would know what he was going to do this weekend shortly after his visit on one of his accounts. Now that he has to commit to suit up for a season no matter the outcome of the NCAA he doesn't know what to do?
@Kcmatt7 I guess we will all be holding our breathe until we hear what's going on?
Someone on the shiver reported something over an hour ago. KU6thman was his user name. I cant read it because I am not a vip. I am not going to pay for recruiting updates!
A commitment from both sides is the only option. Since he ultimately decided to transfer and KU is one of the only schools with a Scholarship this late in the year he doesn't have many other options. Fortunately for him KU has one scholarship to give. If he were seeking representation or an agent to play over seas it would be ALL over the news. I think this young mans heart was set on being an OAD and because he let others close to him make decisions for him he is (possibly if he doesn't get to play this year) now forced to do something he doesn't want to do. He had a good visit with the coaching staff at KU and no news at this point is good news. If he were going to take another visit or seeking an agent we would probably have heard something. That could still happen today for all I know but at least there hasn't been any news confirming KU is out.
If he goes to school yes.
Bad phone service where I'm at.
Good vibes on the Robinson visit. That is all I am going to say.

@KUSTEVE word on the street is... Coach Self said KU is willing to spend whatever it takes to get you cleared. If we are going to make that kind pf commitment to you we need you to commit to playing one year for us. If you are not cleared you suit up for 2018-2019. So the ball is in Robinsons court. He either plays for KU or goes abroad. It would mess up recruiting and KU's basketball program would spend alot money getting him cleared. I think he will announce soon but he has to make up his mind and the sooner he does the sooner KU can start the paperwork to get him cleared.
Jamari Traylor's senior year stats. 3PTS 3REB. I like Lightfoot but he is not, nor will he ever be as good as Mari! I really hate saying that but that is what I think and I hope he proves me wrong! I just hope we are not forced into playing him 20 minutes plus a game any time soon!
@jayballer54 The name calling and stones they are throwing are unreal on some of the UK boards! I mean calling KU shady is one thing coming from WSU but coming from UK its like WOW? They are jealous as ever and I find it entertaining as H. E. double hockey stick's!
I also found this "Per marble mouth:
LSU no longer recruiting him.
Also another new wrinkle, he may not have been fully processed in at Western Kentucky. So all the Dean would have to do is reject his application and it's like he was never there. Would be able to play right away at KU.
And that Dean is former high level brass at Kansas. "
I wonder if that is really how this plays out?
Someone on a UK board said this lol "Soon the (transfer) death star will be fully operational."

LSU no longer recruiting Mitchell Robinson. Announcing his decision this weekend after KU visit - if eligible, would be quite the pickup.
No matter what if you mix Robinson in the rotation he will make an impact. Who in a million years would have thought KU would have three McDonalds all American's in our front court? A McDonalds all American point Guard and 2 seniors in the back court. With Vick and Garrett BOTH impact players and both could start on any team in the country. Then our scouting team is top notch with our transfer pipeline! This could be the perfect storm guys?
I think this weekend could be a good one?
@Crimsonorblue22 I have good info. He might miss a few games waiting on the NCAA but like Cheick, he will play.
If my info is correct he will get to play this year. That is why our coaching staff and Robinson are even meeting this weekend.
That's all.
For those of you who don't know that was Robinson's post on his snapchat storyline!
GOOD NEWS!!!!!0_1502399526381_bbb.jpg ↗
Mitchell Robinson passes the brow test to me lol
@RockkChalkk If he dropped the classes after being there 2 weeks he wouldn't have used any aid
I got this from another board but its looks promising. "I'm not so sure Robinson actually met the conditions for a transfer. From the NCAA, "Transfer trigger: A condition that can affect your transfer status. A student who triggers transfer status is a student who:
• Has been a full-time student at a two-year or four-year college during a regular academic term. Classes taken during summer terms do not count.
• Practiced with a college team.
• Practiced or competed while enrolled as a part-time student.
• Received financial aid from a college while attending summer school." He didn't meet all the conditions, so it's possible he can play."

Kansas already has the best backcourt in the country and their wings are phenomenal so if they get Robinson, this roster will be one of the best in the country and by a long shot.
@BeddieKU23 I am all for Robinsons committing to KU and doing just that. I think he makes our team better even if he is just making Udoka work harder in practice. It will benefit KU but I hope he plays a year!
Lets all hope Coach Self can pull of another 2013 recruiting class! I am all for it BUT I am not going to get excited until they sign LOI's! Last year was a bummer! I really hope Robinson lands at KU and he can play this year! If that happens then I like our chances in March. After BOTH of our bigs missed the last game this summer I am not comfortable with our lack of depth!
!0_1502294290226_bbb.jpg ↗ He posted this and removed it on his twitter account. 8/2/17 I wonder why he felt he needed to take it down?
To be honest I am almost positive he ends up at KU. KU is the only quality program with a scholarship to give. I could be wrong? Its all going to depend on what Coach Self and Robinson hash out. I also think it depends on whether he commits to playing in 2018/2019 if he doesn't get cleared by the NCAA this year? The down side to this is he is projected in the top 10 on some draft boards. He could drop off the NBA radar all together and give Coach Self another DUD in the big department. Alexander and Company, Diallo, and coming soon to AFH Robinson and company. It could end up hurting Coach Self's reputation if he leaves after not playing and going in the 2nd round or undrafted?
@Kcmatt7 IF IF IF IF that happened and you mix them with the SOLID transfer class Coach Self has recruited this year. Also one if not two of Garrett or Vick will return. Same with Preston and Udoka one of them will return. Lightfoot and Cunliffe will return. If Newman doesn't project in the first round he stays too.
We would have 4 transfers and probably 5 guys from the rotation returning. So that's 9 guys on scholarship not including the mop up guys. With the Lawson's, Robinson, Moore, the 5 rotation guys, and a recruiting class like that I could see KU winning it all. Going undefeated would be another record (reserved for the Birthplace of Basketball) that would put Coach Self on a level above ALL other college coaches after winning his 15th straight conference title!
LOL!!!!!!!

Hold up....KU beat every team they faced in Italy by 30pts....NC State goes over there & lost!LMFAO They are truly a disgrace to basketball!
It might be different but it will be approached in the same manner.
There were a lot of guys on this very board that said Newman would bold after sitting out last year. That didn't happen because Self explained to him and his family that he would mess up recruiting. It all worked out so far.
@BeddieKU23 Self would approach him like he did Newman and make it clear if he comes to Kansas its a 2 year ordeal if he the NCAA doesn't clear him to play this year.
If Coach Self lands this guy he has basically started a new 5 star transfer pipeline lol. Newman, Lawson, and Robinson. Basically three 5 star guys in the last 2 years. If he lands this one and he stays 2 years we will have a heck of a 2018-2019 team!
Now if we land him our 2018 starting line up will feature 4 transfers! Moore, Lawson X2, and Robinson? All with a rs season in the system. Plug in Vick, Garrett and our starting line up looks Solid. That doesn't even account for anyone like Zion or if one of our bigs stick around for another year? We could be absolutely loaded for 2018!
5-Star transfer Mitchell Robinson just put a picture of him in a Kansas jersey on his Snapchat story. A sign that KU may be involved?
If you remember Lightfoot is a competitor and maybe Lightfoot did ruffle some feathers that caused a skirmish?

@BShark There are several possibilities over seas. This is just one possibility. You better believe Coach Self, Staff, and some foreign guy on this years team are on the hunt. Something more than team bonding, extra reps, and playing a few games will come out of this over seas trip.
I always like Collins and he is still active in the KU community. Not only does he show up to all of the camps and events but he sends talent to KU too. This year alone he has encouraged two PG's to commit to KU.
I wonder how different Coach Self's list would be? He would probably be modest and say he loves them all equally like my mom would do with me and my siblings but "put a gun to his head" who would he choose?
