I don’t think talent is that disparate. I really feel like the system (if there is one we are running) is not fit for the talent.
It's not. We're not a good shooting team. The strength of this offense is driving, but we don't run sets designed to open up driving lanes.
This has not been the same team since the Christmas break. That's when the switch was turned off and only came back on for the first TCU game.

It’s not an excuse, it’s a fact. Defense could be better but the analytics are clear that defense has a small effect on how the opponent shoots. They’ll cool off, we’ll get better.
Analytics also say teams shoot better when you fucking leave them wide open like KU has been doing all fucking year.
Harris, TGF, Agbaji, Lightfoot, and McCormack is the lineup I'd roll with because those are the guys that have played with effort tonight.

Problem is KU's giving them open looks. I'd agree if they were hitting contested 3's, but most were clean, open looks.
At least it's sub 15 at halftime, lol.

@jayhawks2010 There's a big difference between knowing stuff happens and being able to prove something is happening. Hell, the NCAA hasn't been able to prove shit against most programs until the FBI got involved. Bill Self can't just go and subpoena phone and text records of Duke and UK assistant coaches. Coaches may talk at AAU events, but they aren't talking about payments to players while sitting in the bleachers because they aren't stupid enough to do something like that. Those conversations happen in the privacy in hotel rooms where there's no witnesses to be able to prove anything happened.
McCormack and Lightfoot are the only 2 that have made a FG so far tonight.
Most of these 3's aren't bad looks, just can't making anything right now. These guys need to see something fall.

Never commented on how it appeared, just the why. And because every coach is wearing quarter zip pullovers this year, I'm assuming there was a statement or mandate from the NCAA on gameday dress this year.

Doubt it because of social distancing restrictions. A lot of the fans in the stands are higher dollar donors and their family and friends. Not many regular fans in the building so it's definitely more of a wine and cheese crowd right now among the 2500.

I'm an unenthused as I ever remember being about KU Basketball. I'm seriously blaming it on Self. In 18 years, he's always worn a suit on the sidelines on game day. He looked like a professional coach. Now he looks like my next door neighbor's uncle coaching the YMCA kids.
I haven't seen any coach wearing a suit this year on the sidelines so I'm guessing that has something to do with the NCAA. Every game I've watched has coaches wearing quarter zip pullovers this year so I seriously doubt that's coincidence.

WTF happened in the 2nd of that game? It was 26-20 Rutgers at halftime. That's what I was watching before our game and MSU went on a 20-11 run to end half after Rutgers started out up 15-0.

Yeah to be fair, very few players seem to like the use the backboard anymore. Tim Duncan was obviously masterful at it.
Agreed, it always amazes my 7th graders how many more lay ups they make in drills when using the backboard.

The rebounding issue to me goes back to OSU killing us in transition and Self over compensating to keep that from happening again.
Dave and Agbaji are the only 2 guys even willing to take shots on this team. They've taken 15 of 26 FGA's. The other 6 players have 11 shots combined and Braun has only taken 1 shot. Sit his ass for Harris until he starts playing with aggression again because he hasn't done crap on defense tonight either.
Agbaji has the worst handles of any guard on the team, that's why he can't get his own shot whenever.
